UPDATED: Honduran coup may be imminent, abetted by Obama administration

Once again, Obama siding with tyrants

[UPDATE 6:30 EDT : the government has imposed a curfew from 4pm today till 6am tomorrow]

Multiple sources (Reuters) (AP) report that ousted and exiled former president Manuel Zelaya is back in Honduras, hidden for the moment in somebody’s embassy and therefore out of the reach of authorities, who have promised to arrest him and try him for treason if he re-appears on sovereign Honduran soil.

By the way, when you hear the name Manuel Zelaya, you should think pal and disciple of Venezuelan thug dictator Hugo Chavez.

Zelaya was ousted in what has widely been reported in the American press as a “coup” on June 28. The United Nations, the Obama administration, the OAS and other dubious characters like Hugo Chavez have roundly condemned the constitutional government in Honduras and have worked diligently to bring pressure to bear to reverse events in Honduras. The Reuters link above includes the assertion that “Soldiers toppled Zelaya”.

The truth is quite the opposite. Honduran officials acted perfectly according to their own constitution and within their authority in removing from office a president who was attempting to install himself as the permanent ruler similarly to how Hugo Chavez did in Venezuela. Take your time reading the sources. The facts of the matter are widely available, yet the Obama administration has led the way in applying pressure to Honduras, invoking economic sanctions and going so far as to revoke the visas of most high Honduran officials in order to block their attendance at this month’s United Nations General Assembly. You don’t want to know who all *did* make the cut and will attend. OK, yes you do: Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Raul Castro, Hugo Chavez, and Muammar Gaddafi.

So far today:

Details are conflicting as to Zelaya’s actual location — he’s been reported as at the UN compound, at the Brazilian Embassy, NOT at the US Embassy (although his wife is apparently there). The more authoritative reports place him in the Brazilian Embassy. He apparently gave an address on Honduran television that was audio-only, in which he called his supporters to show up at the UN compound, where several thousand people have now gathered.

There are various reports as to how he arrived, and nobody seems to know much more than is being reported. Will there be an armed uprising? Rioting? Will foreign governments intervene? One thing is clear. The Obama administration has steadfastly applied pressure to force the constitutional government of Honduras to accept a return of the deposed president. They may be about to get their wish.

And it’s about as evil, cruel, and criminal a turn of events as can be imagined for a nation whose people only want to be free to be governed at their own consent, by their own constitution.

I'm disgusted, outraged and sickened.

But I’m not the least bit surprised. This action by the Obama Administration needs to have loud voices on the floor of the House and Senate demanding an immediate investigation about the level and type of involvement they’ve committed our country to in the name of tyranny.

And not for the sake of politics, but to expose them to the light of day for the entire world to see and be repelled by.

is just breathtaking. America is now in the position of aiding and abetting drug-running Constitutional lawbreakers such as Zelaya and Chavez. And Chavez is an ally of one of our worst enemies, Iran, a country sworn to our destruction along with Israel’s.

In ways large and small, Obama daily makes it his business to stamp out freedom in this world and instead fosters the tyrannical ambitions of every bad actor in the world.

There is no justification for the Won’s position on this. How can he side with Zayala and Chavez? If this stands, Liberty is in peril everywhere.

And I gotta give a little support to Kenny. Obama is cut from the same cloth as every other tin pot dictator that has come to power throughout modern history. He’s been groomed for this and influenced by nefarious Marxists and communists all of his life. Why can anyone be surprised that his domestic actions and foreign policy are completely consistent with radical leftist ideology. Now I’m not saying at all that he’s aiming to be or will be any sort of dictator for life. Thankfully our Constitution has provisions to prevent that. But I fully believe that of given the choice or opportunity Obamao would gladly assume control as the first dictator-in–chief of this great nation. If this administration is willfully supporting or staging the return of a constitutionally removed leader of a sovereign country it would be extremely troubling.

But the people and the military and the rest of the powers that be in ths country are far less susceptible to caving to pressure from the UN or the OAS than the fragile Honduran system.

In effect, more than the rules laid out in the Constitution (which, I agree is not much of a roadblock to Obama) all we have going for us is our own selves, the presence of a legitimate and powerful opposition in this country, and our guns.

No accident that the Second Amendment was put in place so people could protect themselves from their own government.

It’s more and more obvious every hour with every move they make that the current administration is on a collision course trying to initiate an uprising in our own nation so they can clamp down hard…….

We’re out of time, gang.

The enemies of freedom are also on the move and their “go” time is now…. this week…… think about it.

The G-20 is in Pittsburgh and POTUS says there needs to be a global financial market regulatory body.

The UN General Assembly session is about to convene and make no mistake about it, their goal is a one-world government and treaties for insanity that POTUS believes in.

Tomorrow, PM Netanyahu, PA Terror Chief Abbas and POTUS are meeting. Why? Abbas: Kill all Jews, the land is ours. PM Bibi: We’re going to defend ourselves, especially against Iran. POTUS: Can I have some extra fries with my big ‘ol burger ?

“The State Department” lets in leaders of Cuba, Iran, Venezuela, Libya for The UN GA and Sec Council meeting….. but NOT Honduras………and all of a sudden, Zelaya shows up in Honduras (By the way…. he’s in The Brazilian Embassy) and all of it is of course COMPLETELY COINCIDENTAL to POTUS taking the Chair of the UN Security Council on Thursday.

Friday is an Islamic national day of prayer happens on The US Capitol’s west frontage, with their organization’s website stating bluntly “Our time has come.”

Sunday at sundown, Yom Kippur begins.

The hard left in this country is in control. There is nothing that I see that distinguishes them from Communists. Nothing. But most of the time, when he sees some news story (on FNC thankfully), he keeps asking “why ?” “Why is this happening to my country ?”, then he starts to cry and has to turn away from the TV.

So yeah Neil and everyone… whatever happened before happened before.

I don't think we're out of time but

Steph C Monday, September 21st at 7:03PM EDT (link)

I understand what you’re saying. Obama’s aim is much the same as that of Castro, Chavez, and Zelaya.

However, it won’t be as easy as Obama thinks. Even as president, he can still be charged with treason. If he keeps going on the path he chose, he will be so charged because we the people are tired of this.

StephC- And just how will he be charged with treason with a Democrat/Liberal majority in Congress?

Scope Monday, September 21st at 7:20PM EDT (link)

When you look at who Obama has gotten into bed with, Chavez, Zaleya, Gadafi, Ahmedinajad, Putin and other dictators, it shows me that he is looking for the worst of the worst to come to his defense when he decides that he needs to be the President of the USA for life.

Also, don’t forget HRC in this whole Honduran disaster. She’s in the thick of it. She also had Alinsky as her hero/mentor/teacher.

Several things come to mind, but

Steph C Monday, September 21st at 7:30PM EDT (link)

it’s really up to the people. We could have civil war or we can have civil disobedience, or we can have some of both. We could even have something I’ve not thought of.

HRC is irrelevant. She allowed TheWon to make her so. In the doing of it, she killed feminism because she dances to TheWon’s commands. She will fall with him.

This country is a whole lot bigger in terms of land mass and population than any other place where tin pot dictators thrive.

I never underestimate the Clintons

Scope Monday, September 21st at 7:53PM EDT (link)

I don’t think that Clinton will fall with Obama. I think she will come up with some excuse to resign as the Sec. of State, try to make her appearance as being opposed to the radical agenda of Obama, and then run for another office, possibly the Pres. in 2012. I truly believe that both she and Bill think they can do what Obama is doing, but, better. Isn’t that what all the Socialists/Communists believe. HRC is not gone, not by a long shot, just as long as Bill still has 2 living brain cells.

I'm not underestimating them.

Steph C Monday, September 21st at 8:26PM EDT (link)

However, they have by their own choice allowed themselves to become as irrelevant as Carter. Congress, too, is allowing itself to become irrelevant. It just hasn’t hit them, yet, that their power as a legislative body is being handed over to a bunch of czars. Pelosi and Reid are expendable as is the rest of Congress in the face of that.

And if the Democratic Congress is complicit in Obama’s doings? What then?

The thing I really don’t underestimate is the American people. They are turning away from the leftist media, Hollywood, and so forth. They know something is wrong and they’re quite willing to do the work to fix it.

We have Perry and other states making noise about states’ rights. Whether they’re blowing smoke or not, it’s resonating and therein lies my hope.

I thank God for the brilliant and principled people who are leading this, standing up in the face of thuggery, threats and intimidation.

The contrast between who’s on the side of the angels and who’s not could not now be more stark. The President of the United States of America has proven himself to be a liar, an apologist, an appeaser of murderous regimes, and a man who seeks to destroy a country he has no love for, no understanding of historically, and no wish to strengthen our sovereignty……

Quite honestly, Obama may have to resort to some kind of national thuggery against American citizens just to hang on to his job through the first term. At the rate that he is sowing discord, anger, and alarm here at home, it won’t be long before he attempts some extreme action that will strike a match and light a bonfire.

NICE!!!!!!

I couldn’t agree more. The New Media has led the way in the awaking of the great American people. I’m fully convinced that Dear Leader will have to resort to some sort of manufactured crisis to even complete his only term in office. I’m as hopeful as I’ve been in a long time that the American people will defend this great country and defeat the Leftists once and for all.

McCain's election staff just called to ask for this PC's endorsement

ColdWarrior Monday, September 21st at 7:22PM EDT (link)

Guess what the answer was?

The guy actually defended what McCain said about Joe Wilson’s outburst.

Here’s what the AP had reported at the time:

>>>

Wilson’s behavior was “totally disrespectful,” Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., who had been Obama’s rival in the 2008 presidential election, said on CNN. “There is no place for it in that setting, or any other, and he should apologize for it immediately.”

<<<

So, I guess McCain says we can’t call a lying president a liar. Ever.

I note that McCain has no commentary on his office web site about the events unfolding in Honduras.

He should be taking a leadership role against Teleprompter Boy’s response to this. We’ll see.

Thank you.

BlueLandRed Monday, September 21st at 7:50PM EDT (link)

Honduran officials acted perfectly according to their own constitution and within their authority in removing from office a president who was attempting to install himself as the permanent ruler similarly to how Hugo Chavez did in Venezuela. Take your time reading the sources.

So I did take the time to read up on this and I’m just not convinced that everything the current government of Honduras did and is doing was “perfectly” legal. Not that I’m an expert on anything Honduran, especially the ins and outs of their legal system, but I haven’t seen any real evidence that he’s guilty of what they accused him of. And I’m not sure how deportation instead of arrest and trial is considered constitutionally legal… but what to I know, maybe it is in Honduras. Seems weird tho’.

It is pretty clear, however, that Zelaya drift to the left annoyed the small upper class of Honduran and I suspect that annoyance forms a large part of reason Zelaya was shipped off to Costa Rica.

Then why is he back?

Jack_Savage Monday, September 21st at 8:19PM EDT (link)

And why are the Obama people backing him?

Why is he back?

BlueLandRed Monday, September 21st at 8:42PM EDT (link)

Well, I’ve seen reports that indicate that he isn’t back.

Regardless, if he is back, I’m sure its because Zeleya believes that he’s still President as he was illegally deposed. And while I know that Honduras isn’t the US, just imagine the Chief Justice signed an arrest warrant and the POTUS was then arrested by Army soldiers at night and exiled to Canada. That’s can’t be what the Honduran founding fathers envisioned when they created their constitution.

As for why is Obama’s people backing him. One, he’s a fellow leftist (or seems to be) and two because in all honestly, the current crisis in Honduras isn’t a cut and dried as the OP makes it out to be. And it just isn’t “Obama’s” people, no other country has yet recognized the new government. In fact, the US government reaction has been moderate by comparison. According to Wikipedia, every country in the region as well as the EU has recalled their Ambassador, save the US.

BlueLandRed, your statements here are unsound

aesthete Monday, September 21st at 8:51PM EDT (link)

When it comes to humans, there is virtually never enough evidence to know exactly what happened in a given situation. That said, a cursory overview of the situation would reveal that Zelaya charged for treason under Article 239 of the Honduran constitution, which limits a president to serving only one term, and prohibits him from attempting to amend or alter this constitutional provision, which he attempted to do several times with a decreasing level of ambiguity on each attempt. (If you can read Spanish, I’d suggest reading this “Special Communication” written by the Honduran Supreme Court explaining their actions: http://www.poderjudicial.gob.hn/NR/rdonlyres/87E2BFFC-AF4D-44EA-BFC5-D93730D8D81C/2413/ExpedienteJudicial1.pdf)

From a legal standpoint, there have been few challenges to their ruling, and most focus on the fact that the lower court which had originally ruled some of Zelaya’s actions as illegal, whose ruling the court upheld, was overgeneralized. There has also been some focus on the eminently debatable point of whether or not setting up an opinion poll would fall under that concept (only plebicites and referenda are explicitly mentioned in the Honduran constitution). Here’s a blog arguing in favor of Zelaya using these points: http://hondurascoup2009.blogspot.com/2009/07/as-we-watch-and-wait-revisiting.html

It is unfortunate for Zelaya’s sycophants that that is only the least of Zelaya’s crimes (which, in any case, is not a clear win for them), which include conspiring with the military’s head to make this “opinion poll” happen. Essentially, the only really iffy things that the SC could be accused of is upholding a lower court’s decision without revising its overgeneralized (but correct) majority opinion, and deporting Zelaya, instead of holding him for treason–all very minor issues relative to the gravity of the situation.

I get that he is charged

BlueLandRed Monday, September 21st at 9:06PM EDT (link)

with treason. But I have to say there seems to be a lot of irregularities in how he was deposed.

I also really have issues when even talking about changing the Constitution is considered treason.

And while I do personally like majority rule, I understand requiring a super majority to change the founding document. So if a super majority of people in Honduras what to change their Constitution, they should be allowed to do so… regardless of what their Constitution sez.

You need to deal with the facts of the Honduras Constitution

civil_truth Monday, September 21st at 9:25PM EDT (link)

…not how you feel their constitution should have been written. And check their Amendment process.

Second, you need to understand the history of Zelaya’s actions, not only in trying to change the term limits but the other list of particulars of his illegal actions associated with trying to carry out that referendum, including attempting to take command of the army (which would represent ground to charge him with treasonable activity by any reasonable definition), Note too the universality of condemnation from the legislature, which is controlled by his party, which have supported the change in government and the new president, who is also from the same party. And don’t forget the drug charges.

Nothing remotely resembles any coup that I have read of in the past 50 years; indeed, the evidence is compelling that Zelaya is the one attempting to create civil disorder before the refendum. And following the script that every previous leftist elected official (like Chavez) once in power have followed to overthrow democracy and create a dictatorship - until the rest of the government saw the play acting out and decided to close down the show.

I also take issue with your totally unsupported assertions that 1) a super majority of the nation are in favor of changing the constitution and electing Zelaya President for Life; and 2) your classic leftist talking points about how some small wealthy elite forced Zelaya out of power in defiance of the popular support from the “people”.

BlueLandRed- And I guess you also believe that the US Constitution is a living breating document

Scope Monday, September 21st at 9:27PM EDT (link)

to be changed at the desires of an Administration. You trick yourself when you say that “If the majority of Hondurans want to change their Constitution, they should be allowed to do so regardless what the Constitution sez.” What you seem to have missed is that the majority of Hondurans wanted Zelaya removed, ACCORING TO THEIR CONSTITUTION. So, therefore, if OBAMA wants to remain President of the US for life, but, that pesky thing called our Constitution is against it, we should just accept the decision of the wannabe dictator? The people of Honduras seem to have respect for their governing document, as we also have here in the US, which you seem to believe is irrelevant.

What's "a lot"?

aesthete Tuesday, September 22nd at 12:41AM EDT (link)

The only irregularity I can see was the deportation, which was a hell of a lot easier on both him, his supporters, and the nation of Honduras than trying him for treason and then shooting him. I’ve already answered your concerns about the veracity of the charges of treason, and I’ve answered beyond a reasonable shadow of a doubt the Constitutional underpinnings of the charge. Therefore, all you’re left with is the deportation vs. trying for treason. You’re being ridiculously obstinate for someone who shouldn’t have a bone in this fight, and who claims to be “independent”, or “moderate”, or whatever the buzzword of the week is.

Didn’t the Liberals/Anti-War people accuse Bush of “Nation Building” when he went into Iraq? Is it not “Nation Building” to go against the Constituionally appointed President of Honduras, supported overwhelmingly by the Hondurans, and, to try to support Zelaya, a wannabe dictator? If I heard once, I heard a million times that we “had no business” in “interferring” in Iraq’s government. Once again the hypocrasy of the Democrats is on stage.

That's a good point

aesthete Tuesday, September 22nd at 12:16AM EDT (link)

I wasn’t really in favor of the invasion of Iraq (not for the same reasons as the morons in the Dem party), but it’s interesting how the Dems preach non-intervention and no regime change out of one side of his mouth, and talk about radical change in virtually ungovernable 3rd world countries in the Balkans, Latin America, and Africa. A breathtaking level of dishonesty.

Everything here and below is leftist talking points

civil_truth Monday, September 21st at 9:32PM EDT (link)

This is the most egregious, especially as you’ve evidently copied this from some place without attirbuiton:

It is pretty clear, however, that Zelaya drift to the left annoyed the small upper class of Honduran and I suspect that annoyance forms a large part of reason Zelaya was shipped off to Costa Rica.

But then you also appealed to the actions of most world governments (by which grounds you evidently think that Israel and Taiwan should just disappear) to support Zelaya without dealing with the facts.

Plus there’s your overattentiveness to niggling details where the government failed to follow the exact procedure to your standards - but you have ignorance of the Constitutional provisions or just don’t like them.

Were you so attentive to procedure in the recent Iranian elections or in Chavez’s ongoing actions.

So the blood of how many Hondurans do you wish to see shed in order to establish a Honduran dictatorship? Your leftist buddies have no problems with murders of innocent citizens in their leftist paradises, such as Cuba, etc.

Wake up and smell the roses.

Should an "incident" occur, Obama will not ask

Sera63 Monday, September 21st at 8:23PM EDT (link)

the majority of our Armed Forces to clamp down on any alleged “civil disobedience.” Instead, he will have the full faith and backing of the UN and their Peace Keeping forces to restore “order” to the affected areas.

Once “peace” is “restored” to the (mainly) red states, the Peace Keepers will remain until the Civilian Defense Force is up and running. (Blue states that may have seen some civil disobedience will have already asked for UN assistance.)

Elections will then resume, and, not surprisingly, Democrats will always win the majority of all national elections. Squish Rs and a few conservatives will be kept on for “post-partisan” support, and to provide legitimacy to the entire undertaking.

Legal…globally acceptable…and “Constitutional”…at least as far as the Constitutional lawyer from Harvard will be concerned.

This is, admittedly, a hypothetical “worst-case scenario”…yet from the far-left’s worldview, a possibility.

Otherwise, why would a perfectly sane, and very well-educated world leader, align himself with admitted dictators and tyrants? (Just asking…)

Unfortuantely for the Honduran people, their country is the newest victim in the “struggle.” They are a testing ground…think Spain prior to WWII. Their civil war was the testing ground for new weapons and tactics. The more things change…

Protect and defend the Constitution. Doesn’t say protect and defend those who invite tyranny.

but would our military, grounded in the Military Code of Conduct, initiate an action without National Command Authority? And, would an overwhelming Dem Congress fund such an action? Could, or even would, the Cincs and Joint-Chiefs-of-Staff issue such orders? And, without orders or funding, could the military stage an action that could be effective?

I could see members of individual National Guard Units standing for their fellow citizens in certain states. However, without orders or funding, and with the state-run media showing 24-hour coverage of “civil disobedience”, wouldn’t the military units both state-side and overseas simply wait out the situation? Especially if the top 3 members of our civilian authority - President, Vice-President, and Speaker of the House - were in agreement with a “hold” order?

This is not an attack on our military. It’s because of their loyalty to their oath that we have never worried about a “military junta” happening in our nation. And, it’s because of their willingness to serve our country, and fight for our country and on orders from our civilian leaders, that we have the freedoms we possess today.

I just see higher-ups in the military - there as much for their military knowledge as for their political connections - taking a “wait and see” attitude. Rank-and-file military members would be raring to go…but would there be enough Majors and Colonels who would buck the system and head this way?

I don’t know…that’s why I ask.

I used to have lawyers and guardhouse lawyers as subordinates and, my God, could they butcher Latin! You don’t need it for legal argument anymore though some of it makes a good short hand. Mostly it is just a form of snobbery. Some punk right out of school throwing around stuff like res jew-duh-cahduh (race yew-di-kah-tah), star-ih dee-cise-sis (stah-ray day-kee-sis), or deh jew-ree (day yew-ray) drove me nuts. So, I had a simple rule; if you can’t spell it and pronounce it IN LATIN, not that anglicized mess they call legal latin, you couldn’t use it.

I try not to use it much and I try to use it right, but I screw up too. It is especially easy to screw it up if you know a little Latin, a little French, and a little Spanish and you slip back and forth between spellings and pronunciations. I’m basically illiterate in all three; I know enough Latin to call BS and enough French and Spanish to say hello, maybe get some “companionship,” get a drink, and find the restrooms. If I’ve been in Mexico a couple of weeks I can get up to maybe a five year old’s fluency in what passes for Spanish there.

One of the funniest things I’ve ever seen was in a fancy restaurant in Puerto Vallarta. Late twenties, early thirties American woman, probably a Spanish teacher judging by the very formal Castillian Spanish she was speaking, is having dinner with one of the young Mexican studs that hunt for women like that. She’s trying to order dinner and show off by ordering in Spanish. First, women just DON’T do that in Mexico; most places the “Lady’s Menu” doesn’t even have prices. Second, Spanish teacher Spanish was practically a foreign language to both the waiter and the young man and they could hardly understand a word of it. He wound up ending the pain by ordering in English. It was a lot funnier to watch than my description.

In Vino Veritas

I don't disagree with on that

Richard Mullins Tuesday, September 22nd at 12:50PM EDT (link)

of course anyone that smart should know that those outside of Mexico City just can’t understand those from Mexico City. Really, just go to Monterrey and you’ll see that Castillian spanish doesn’t work well there. Try a bit of Tex-Mex and you might get somewhere.

You think that is something?

kyle8 Tuesday, September 22nd at 4:15PM EDT (link)

Here in Houston it is a regular Tower of Babel. We have lots of Mexicans, But we also have Dominicans, Hondurians, and a sizable amount of Cubans. To make it more fun we have a big Filipino community who can speak a sort of Spanish.

None of them understand each other very well and then you throw in all the Anglos like me who speak only broken Spanish, and the people who speak no Spanish and no English (lots of those here)

It gets crazy in any department store or just out on the street. A sort of sign language along with pidgen English is often employed.

That’s how.

"Those people" ? You really are a tool.

You’ve been given the benefit of the doubt here and you blew it. Your “tour” of RedState won’t be a long one. While here, you can continue to display your profound ignorance and the usual bad manners of most lefties.

Mockery always works, janis, the very idea of being corrected

I had to have two years of Latin AND two years of a “foreign” language to get a College Preparatory diploma from a pubic HS in the rural South forty years ago. The typical urban HS grad today isn’t even literate in English, but they sure know how to vote Blue.

That's a fact

aesthete Tuesday, September 22nd at 2:17PM EDT (link)

From my experience as a student in HS, real learning has been supplanted, and has been replaced by busywork and indoctrination. There’s no HS class that I can remember which even attempted to portray objective truth at all, with the exception of math. The “history lessons” on Communism are particularly revisionist, with many of the human rights violations committed by the USSR whitewashed, and those on the US side hyped up to paint a false picture of moral equivalence between the two powers.

“The whole modern world has divided itself into Conservatives and Progressives. The business of Progressives is to go on making mistakes. The business of the Conservatives is to prevent the mistakes from being corrected.”
-G. K. Chesterton

“To be ‘cured’ against one’s will and cured of states which we may not regard as disease is to be put on a level of those who have not yet reached the age of reason or those who never will; to be classed with infants, imbeciles, and domestic animals.”
-C.S. Lewis

Absolutely Art, Aesthete! I actually had a few teachers who taught us how to make our own decisions.

nessa Tuesday, September 22nd at 3:15PM EDT (link)

They presented us with data, often opposing viewpoints on a subject, prodded us to research and then spent hours listening and fostering discussion. We weren’t presented with one view and that view reinforced by the instructor, it was our views that we had to develop and defend with our peers and their own views and ideas. My kids don’t have any experience with this in HS anymore. One side is presented and reinforced by the authority figure. The most valuable thing I learned in HS was that I was capable of independent thought. Granted, this was a while ago, although my books weren’t carved on slabs of stone like another commenter here, but its a dead technique in education today.

I think pal and disciple of socialist thug Barack Obama

Marcus_Traianus Monday, September 21st at 10:08PM EDT (link)

After all who has enabled this to occur- this absence of democratic process contrary to their constitution, legislative intent and laws? That would be Barack Obama and his mustachioed sidekick Hillary Clinton.

I think he’s kinda cool, this Barack Obama, so fresh and hip. He’s the quintessential incarnation of Soviet policy with a little American pizazz. I bet next ole Barack will be at Spago with Zelaya. Why it’s the contemporary Moltov-Ribbentrob Pact- with salsa. Ole!

One fears most the ignorance of the people; the other, the selfishness of rulers independent of them. Which is right, time and experience will prove.”.Thomas Jefferson

How did we start that civil war? Obama's true nature- communist and evil?

archer52 Monday, September 21st at 11:06PM EDT (link)

For a President who wanders around saying how we shouldn’t project our will onto others, he certainly jumped all over this. It makes you wonder why it is so important to make this point with Honduras.

Is he trying to show he’s a hard line bad a** like Chavez? Is he trying to help Chavez across the line with his plan of socializing all his neighbors? Other than being such an embarrassment to us as we watch the leader of the largest democratic republic push a small country into a dictatorship, what does Obama get from it?

Maybe a favor to be called in by Obama at a later date? This makes no sense, unless you spend some time at other websites which point out a couple of interesting articles, well worth reading.
Simply put Obama is a communist, and so are a number of the people around him.

The last article about George Galloway in Britain and how the communist and Islamic radicals are working together explains how Galloway ran around supporting Muslim causes with so much support. I thought he was just an idiot.

We’re not talking essay-length, just enough long to distinguish between red/blue mentality.

Examples:

What is the purpose of ACORN?

Do you want government-run health care? Why or Why not?

What are the first 10 amendments to the US Constitution called?

Don’t leave the party, hijack it back!

Eternal vigilance is the price of freedom.

That would make a good voter registration test! nt

Have you worked and paid taxes for at least 5 years?

Only then can we get those that have at least started growing a brain to elect our elected leaders.

here in Texas. Need to let DPS know about that. BTW, we have 24 millon people but most live in urban areas like Houston metro or Dallas/Ft Worth. So there is plenty of land to settle.

Hubby said he wouldn't mind moving back to Vidor.

I’m not so sure about that.

You do know that Vidor is in the Piney woods outside of Beaumont

Richard Mullins Tuesday, September 22nd at 8:13PM EDT (link)

and that it notorious for being a racist town. Not much out there and if you were in a town that was closer to a big Metro area like Houston or Dallas/Ft Worth, there is plenty to do. Some of the most republican towns are close to big cities.

I told hubby it had probably changed

from when he lived there but then, it’s probably always been a racist town, huh? Personally I liked his stories about west Texas better even if there wasn’t much there.

Richard Mullins Tuesday, September 22nd at 10:24PM EDT (link)

Vidor is in Southeast Texas

Sweetwater is in Central West Texas

Lubbock is in the Panhandle Plains

This concludes today’s lesson on Texas Geography

I know where Vidor is.

Steph C Tuesday, September 22nd at 10:31PM EDT (link)

And, yes that it is southeast. Hubby worked in Lake Charles LA when he lived there.

Actually, I know where Ft. Hood is, too but it was a looooooong empty road the route I took to get there because I was cutting across from Ft. Polk. I hated Ft. Polk. It was the only post I ever hated.
