Obamacare gives license to tyrannical thinking of the liberal. It’s okay to weaponize taxes. It’s okay to use taxation to steer individual behavior. It’s okay to use taxation to steer people into directly giving their money to specific private hands. Oppress the people… it’s okay… it’s only a tax… no one gets hurt, it’s all for the best.

What sort of taxes can be interpreted from the Obamacare ruling by politicians.

Tax for being fat instead of skinny?
Tax for not being in the military?
Tax for not going to college?
Direct tax on consumer for buying foreign instead of domestic.
Tax for not buying vegetables during a visit to a supermarket.
Tax for not having a gym membership.

I think the Obamacare ruling may give Democrats creative ideas. I can see the light bulbs still flashing over the heads of Democrats in California. They can adapt this form of reasoning.

You don’t just have to tax soda makers… you can tax consumers for not buying healthy or buying one thing over another. Get healthy tax waived by supporting organic products. Show up to the store to buy batteries… take a 5 cent hit for not buying a healthy snack.

Double, triple dip direct consumption taxes and non-consumption taxes.

What do you guys think?

If gay marriage becomes a reality, the meaning of marriage will change. Marriage will no longer be used as the name for that ancient institution between a man and a woman.

For a secular person the main reason to defend traditional marriage is to defend something like an ancient “trademark” or “copyright.” Marriage was a word given meaning by heterosexual men and women who entered the traditional union between a man and woman for the purposes of resource sharing, breeding, etc. Gay people didn’t have anything to do with it. They haven’t been the ones keeping it alive throughout the centuries.

If the activists for gay marriage manage to redefine the secular meaning of the word, religions of the world and people who practice true marriage can stop using the word marriage altogether. Marriage would then just come to mean civil union, no?

At the end of the day, a gay marriage will never be the same as the ancient institution between a man and woman.

What do you guys think?

I think Romney is plagued by an image of his past relationships with east coast liberals.

If it weren’t for him claiming to to the left of Ted Kennedy or appearing hold hands with left wingers, he’d could nudge the religious right into supporting him openly.

- he’s a former missionary.
- he gives millions of dollars to his Church, who in turn has used that money to fight left wing activism
- if he’s a religious Mormon it is very likely he doesn’t smoke, drink, or even use any form of recreational drug

I find it amusing he won’t speak the language of the religious to religious people, despite being a former missionary. Why doesn’t he talk about what he has in common with Catholics, Protestants, and evangelicals?

Why doesn’t he go for portraying himself as a “Mormon Tebow” amongst social conservatives? He doesn’t have to be loud about his faith or anything, he just needs to prove he’s not as liberal as he is painted out to be. He’s not Bill Maher… he’s not part of the Hollywood liberal crowd. I don’t think he’s Harry Reid, either.

A lot of conservatives think he stands for nothing. He should at least be open about his faith and how it is a part of his life… to show he actually believes in something.
