Barack Obama Purges His Website. No Longer Critical of the Surge.

Just words? Maybe, but that's not the Barack Obama that Barack Obama knew. I'd call these "little white lies," but I don't want anyone to think I work at the *New Yorker*

When the situation in Iraq was going badly, Barack Obama wanted us to retreat. When the surge took hold and the situation in Iraq improved, Barack Obama wanted us to retreat. No turn in Iraq went unstoned in Obama’s commitment to retreat and surrender.

Not any more. Obama has thrown his old positions under the bus. And, for a guy whose campaign claims to get the net, he’s done an extremely dumb thing — he purged his website of his former positions. Apparently he’s never heard of a cache.

The presumed Democratic nominee replaced his Iraq issue Web page, which had described the surge as a “problem” that had barely reduced violence.

“The surge is not working,” Obama’s old plan stated, citing a lack of Iraqi political cooperation but crediting Sunni sheiks – not U.S. military muscle – for quelling violence in Anbar Province. . . .

Obama’s campaign posted a new Iraq plan Sunday night, which cites an “improved security situation” paid for with the blood of U.S. troops since the surge began in February 2007.

It praises G.I.s’ “hard work, improved counterinsurgency tactics and enormous sacrifice.”

Gone are Obama’s days of criticizing the surge, which he claimed was sure to fail. It’s like L. Ron Hubbard writing Scientology. Every aspect of the religion is subject to revision until it is published for Tom Cruise to jump on a couch and attract creepy cultists and far left automatons. And even then the second edition can edit out inconvenient gibberish the Messiah originally wrote some staffer accidentally inserted without the foreknowledge or permission of the Messiah.

Is there no position this man will not take that he will later repudiate? Is there nothing this man will not say or do to get elected?

That’s what inexperience and ineptitude get you. Always having to tuck tail and run the other way as fast as you can. This is what we lawyers sometimes denote as a “continuing pattern and practice.”

all will be well as he will now let us understand all there is to know regarding Iraq this week during his theme of the week, Iraq

I mean REALLY? Are people really that uncaring about who our president will be? Any how I think he will implode once the conventions are over and the general public starts paying attention. I assume the RNC will be doing a lot of good commercials this September and October. It should be fun.

Obama isn’t dumb, unfortunately. He’s trying to pull the main reason for a McCain presidency out from under him – success in Iraq.

If Obama is allowed to reshape his failure in Iraq strategy to a succeed in Iraq strategy without being called out , he will win the election.

    It reads:

    People are stupid

You know the Biblical doctrine of original sin? It came into being when Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate from the Tree of Life. In Bill’s First Law of American Sociology, Original Stupidity began when the first liberal was elected President. But there is salvation from Original Stupidity – it comes by becoming a conservative and voting Republican.

    :-)

    If I may add, pls.

    G’s statement:

“You are free to eat from any tree in the garden but you must not eat form the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die”
    Serpent’s statement:

    • ) “Did G really say, ‘You must *not *eat from any tree in the garden’?”
    • ) “You will *not *surely die”
    • ) “For G knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like G, knowing good and evil”

My US$0.02: What caused Original Sin?

Twisting with a promise or hope = Serpent’s lies.

Obviously, the main strategy of the other party is the use of the Serpent’s lies.

Politico used euphemism by call it a “heck”.

Politico is pointing out the situation:

but I think the Obama bubble has burst and the individuals get it now…and the individuals still have time to infect the herd. But I could be wrong…never underestimate the stupidity of large groups.

  • tgharris

Senator Obama probably didn’t even know the surge criticism was on his website. I mean…hey…the guy sat in the same church for twenty years, and never heard a word the pastor said.

  • Pentagon16

the same thing on my blog- posted all of the Messiah’s previous groundbreaking nuggets of wisdom.

Suddenly all inoperative. Hmm, anyone else remember that it was Barack Obama his holiness who proclaimed after his sermon on the Mount that it was HE who had the judgement to lead- even though he had no experience.

because on the “greatest issue of our time”- he got it “right”.

That youtube clip is not the youtube clip that Barack Obama has known. Sorry, but defeatist Obama has now been thrown under the bus and is merely a “distraction”.

Now it is “victorious Obama” who knew all along the surge would work and was always planning a step ahead. Never mind those “distracting” saved caches!!

    “Hope and Change”

That apparently means the HOPE that he won’t CHANGE campaign if you’re a diehard Obama supporter.

. . .is that many Obama supporters claim, with a straight face, that, because some American troops can now (after the surge), maybe, be withdrawn safely, this “proves” that Obama is right and McCain wrong! See, they say, Obama wanted to withdraw the troops for years, and the Iraqis, and even President Bush, now say the same the thing, whereas McCain wants to fight a “100 year war” in Iraq. So, clearly, Obama was right “all along” and McCain was wrong.

If you ask, but what about the surge? Isn’t that what made any withdrawl even possible? And, wasn’t Obama against it, while McCain was for it? They say, “whatever, man.” And, now you won’t even be able to point to the Obama website to show them the evidence. Not that it matters much anyway. . .to them, it’s “Obama was right, and McCain was wrong, it’s so obvious! McCain is pwned! Hope and change! Yay! Yay! Yay!!!!11!!!!”

  • streetwise

which we used to set forth as fact is now at variance with what we now perceive to be the truth.

  • BurkeanBadger

If the surge continues to go well, I expect that by September, Barry will claim that he always supported it. By October, he’ll say he actually came up with the idea of a surge, suggesting it at a cocktail party where David Petraeus must of been eavesdropping. By election day, he’ll say that he personally led the surge of troops into Iraq.

Sarcasm? Yes? Far off from reality? Sadly, no.
