Democrats Say Obama is Insular, Uncooperative, and Inattentive
Just like Chimpy McBushitler Halliburton
Yet more evidence that Democrats love President Bush. They say Bush is arrogant, inarticulate, insular, uncooperative, and inattentive. So what do they do? They nominate the closest equivalent to their allegations.
Hey, imitation is the highest form of flattery! Nonetheless, it is humorous to pick through their concerns:
- Until a mailing that went out in the past few days, Obama had done little fundraising for Democratic candidates since signing off on e-mailed fundraising appeals for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee immediately after securing the Democratic nomination.
- Obama has sometimes appeared in members’ districts with no advance notice to lawmakers, resulting in lost opportunities for those Democrats to score points by appearing alongside their party’s presumptive presidential nominee.
- The Obama campaign has not, until very recently, coordinated a daily message with congressional Democrats, leaving Democratic members in the lurch when they’re asked to comment on the constant back and forth between Obama and John McCain — as they were when Obama said earlier this month that he would “continue to refine” his Iraq policies after meeting with commanders on the ground there.
- Coordination between the Obama campaign and the House and Senate leadership is so weak that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) — who will chair the Democrats’ convention in August — didn’t know of Obama’s decision to move his final-night acceptance speech from the Pepsi Center to Invesco Field until the campaign announced it on a conference call with reporters.
Democrats need to understand something about Obama. Barack Obama is an inexperienced and inept politician. In his first race, he won by moving far left and then knocking opponents off the ballot. He lost his second race by not moving far enough to the left. He won his third race because his primary opponent withdrew and his Republican opponent’s ex-wife killed the guy (politically). He won the Democratic primary this year by moving far left and Hillary deciding too early it was hers with not much effort. In short, the only lessons Barack Obama has ever learned in politics are to get lucky and go left.
He has never had to learn team work. His climb in politics shows a guy willing to say or do anything to get elected. Democrats should not be surprised he is unwilling to help them — he has never picked up on the need to be a team player. Obama is the ultimate in self-centered politicians. Couple that with his inexperience and ineptness and you have a candidate too clueless to know he needs to give back to the party (this is the man who almost forgot to pitch his donors on the idea of giving to Hillary at the event designed specifically for that purpose).
Oh, and one last thing: Democrats should be under no illusions. Obama is a reflection of his new voters. They are going to vote for Obama, not for Democrats. Why should Obama be any different?
