That’s right. I’ve been filling in as co-host of a morning radio show in Macon, Georgia. We talk local, state, and national issues from 6am to 9am each weekday morning on AM 940 WMAC in Macon, Georgia.

    I live in Dublin, Ga and have enjoyed listening to 940 AM online because I can barely pick up the signal here. But for the past couple or three weeks, it has not been available. Is there some plan to fix this or is it a problem with some of the programming not wanting to be streamed (i.e., Rush Limbaugh)?

    and streaming worked for me using Internet Exploder. It didn’t work using Apple’s Safari. You might try a different browser.

    but what is consolidation?

    I just caught the end of your show and heard you say you preferred annexation over consolidation, but I missed whatever the explanation was.

    By the way, I’m not real thrilled about annexation in most cases. People usually move to the unincorporated areas to avoid the high taxes and other issues of being inside city limits. Then the city annexes them and they’re stuck with the things they were trying to avoid. Just rubs me the wrong way….

    Consolidation is when the city and county governments become one.

    It seems like that would allow the elimination of many duplicated departments (well in a normal world it would, maybe not in governmentland).

    Just about every department I can think of has a duplicate in both city and county governments. Assuming you could eliminate the duplication it should cut a great amount of overhead.

    Of course that is just my first reaction. I guess there are many problems caused by consolidation, too. What issues am I overlooking?

    Considering the host I replaced was arrested in a drug bust, I hope no one thought I was making a drug reference.

    I could have saved myself a sub to Rush’s 24/7 if I had just tried IE. It hat quit working with my FireFox browser.
