The Carbon Credit Scam and the Democratic Convention

You’ve got to read this.

The eastern Colorado wind turbine tapped for the Democratic National Convention’s carbon-offset program has one problem: It doesn’t generate any electricity. Convention organizers are now being questioned for their eagerness to market those credits to delegates.

The DNC has contracted with Vermont-based NativeEnergy to offer delegates “Green challenge” carbon offsets to soften the environmental impact of convention travel. That money is then invested in carbon-free “green” energy sources around the country, including a wind turbine installed this year by the Wray School District RD-2. But a Face The State investigation reveals the district’s turbine has never produced marketable energy due to massive equipment malfunctions.

The Democrats encouraged people to participate in carbon offsets. One of the programs listed was this wind turbine. It does not work. But, on the bright side, the school system is getting lots of money even though it cannot deliver its part of the offset.

Carbon offsets are a scam. They always have been. They always will be. This is just another example. But you know what? Let’s not be surprised. The Democratic Party is used to operating like a third world kleptocracy.

    So lets Drill, Drill, Drill. Don’t look for alternatives. The oil/coal interests in this country, know the GOP are shmucks and can’t see past the next quarter.

    and to lighten their burden of guilt, for a mere $200 atonement I will deny my family the sustenance of outdoor grilling, gavel-to-gavel, for the DNC convention. Complete with a certificate of absolution, suitable for framing. Excuse me for now, I do have ribs to attend to.

    Actually, Vlad, I rejoice when I see brain-dead drivel like that being spouted. It’s just further evidence that our political opponents have thoroughly lobotomized themselves, even if they don’t realize it.

    One of the “innovations” of the Clinton era was the dissemination of “talking points” to the minions in the field. The orders were simple – to disperse and keep repeating the talking points over and over again with the notion that if We The People heard the same exact thing from multiple points of the compass we’d accept it as truth.

    What these people failed to grasp is that they were turning off their reasoning faculties, which quite non-surprisingly atrophied to the point of utter uselessness.

    They no longer know how to think – all they know how to do is mindlessly babble the “thinking” (sic) that someone else has done for them.

    Funny, though, how outfits like Halliburton and KBR are public companies – and are therefore subject to very stern reporting and disclosure requirements. In contrast, the “carbon trading” outfits are for the most part privately-held LLCs who don’t have to open their books – and thus don’t have to disclose whatever shenanigans they might be doing.

    and his scheme had nothing over these carbon credit mongers. Someday we will be talking about the trifecta of scams, Ponzi Scheme, Pyramid Scheme, and Carbon Offset Credit Scheme. Judged by money bilked, I should have put Carbon Credits at the top of list.

    Just remember that us “Repugs” wants green nuclear energy (blocked by ‘environmentalists’), we want ethanol tariffs eliminated (blocked by Democrats), we want cellulose ethanol (non-corn like switchgrass and sugar just to name 2, blocked by both parties in corn states), we want to develop clean coal (blocked by both ‘environmentalists’ and Democrats). So yes, we want to drill, drill, drill. But we don’t want to only drill, drill, drill.

    I’m sure that you want to do your part and will give up your internet usage, it’s not just the electricity in your house, but all the servers powered that you access and all their usage. Thanks.

    Oh and you seem to have confused the trade deficit with the budget deficit.

    Where we want to drill is in your teeth. In the basement at Gitmo. No Novocain. I don’t know if we’ll find oil, but it will be really fun. And then there’s all the money we’ll make selling the full length videos.

    What a bunch of dolts for not recognizing it… and these are the same people who want to shut down oil and fossil fuels because they are just so sure that the New Technology is already there, we’re just not doing it out of reverence to Big Oil!

    A 28-page contract requested by Denver organizers that caterers provide food in ?at least three of the following five colors: red, green, yellow, blue/purple and white.? Garnishes could not be counted toward the colors. No fried foods would be allowed. Organic and locally grown foods were mandated, and each plate had to be 50 percent fruits and vegetables. As a result, caterers are shying away.”

    Let’s face it — with all that purple cabbage and turnips to meet the purple quota, there is going to be a WHOLE LOT of excess methane in the Convention Center.

    They better get that turbine online post haste.
