Then I’m for it. I backed Fred, and then Newt and then Fred again, so I’m biased. But if I can’t have him on Law and Order, then maybe at the convention?

Previously I was opposed to a McCain-Thompson ticket, the Grumpy Old Men ticket. But in view of how Obama has done under the bright lights, I think JM could beat him with ANYBODY even mildly conservative on the ticket (note – that excludes Crist and Huckabee, and almost Pawlenty).

And since ANYBODY will do, might as well pick the VERY BEST MAN FOR THE JOB.

And not only that, I would SO relish seeing a VP debate between Thompson and Biden. We would have to come up with a term more drastic than bitch-slap to describe that…

Nobody talks about our country like Fred Thompson. This man is a statesman which few can compare.

Sen. Thompson started off with policy papers in his campaign like no others had or thought about and I am definitely looking forward to hearing him once again.

Giving Fred the opportunity to speak at the convention would really be a right step towards galvanizing the party. He was by far the best canidate out there and it’s shame he’s not the nominee but he needs to speak at some point. If nothing else but to get the South rallying behind McCain. Best idea I have heard for the convention.

But I was told during the primaries that Fred Thompson was so dull that he could put any audience to sleep within minutes. Not that I saw.

So, was all that just primary hot air? Did anybody really believe it?

This Fredhead thinks Fred is only 64, IIRC. And is kept young with Jeri and the kids. His foreign policy experience would neutralize Biden’s perceived strength, and he could step in as POTUS and strike some fear in the hearts of our enemies, at home and abroad.

Besides, if not Fred, McCain may pick Hillary!
