Yes, the actual language is more akin to "murder" not "kill."

How do we know?

Well, even if you ignore the actual language of the commandment, go on down a bit to Exodus 21:12-14 and you'll find this:

Whoever strikes a person mortally shall be put to death. If it was not premeditated, but came about by an act of God, then I will appoint for you a place to which the killer may flee. But if someone wilfully attacks and kills another by treachery, you shall take the killer from my altar for execution.

Hmmmm….

I guess (by exercising great efforts to prevent doctors from giving life-saving medical treatment to babies who manage to survive the attempt to kill them by ramming scissors into the base of their tiny skulls and scrambling their tiny brains… ) Barack was obviously not talking about “babies”.

Babies are LOWER than “the least of my brothers”.
Babies, as The One teaches us… are “punishment”.
