I don't know why the Baron-Edwards-Biden connection is important, but it is only slightly interesting that Baron specializes in asbestos cases and asbestos was one of Obama's pet projects while working as a "community organizer" in Chicago.

I also saw on FNC tonight that Rezko was one of Obama's first clients with his first law firm. I was only half paying attention, but apparently Obama was also involved in a business with Rezko and it was the only business of Rezkos to fail. LOL

I guess I've already screwed up once today. On the other thread about Biden funneling money to his lobbyist son, I commented that we couldn't say anything, as McCain supported the military and his son is in the military.

I was definitely joking, but I didn't even bother to put a snark tag on it. This guy's entire comment was about the empty suit that is Obama and his campaign, then for the last line, he used an Obama campaign talking point. It is obvious to me, even if it isn't to anyone else.

I suppose it takes all kinds to make the world go round, but it certainly doesn't look like a banning offense to me.

Some think Obama blew it with his vice president pick. I don't. It's part of a beautiful stragey to keep the pundrity and press so focused on drama and gimmicks. That's all they report. An inattentive public will watch the spectacle. Never realizing nothing of importance will have been said.

He says what we all know...O is an empty suit full of empty promises but all the media reports is the show.

I know this is truly cynical but really is anyone noticing the Obama campaign in one year of time has managed to say nothing. His opponents have but have been unable to break through the media's protective coverage. While cracks have appeared in the hull of USS Obama. It could still make port into the White House.

He says that if we have noticed (and we have) Obama has said nothing but we have not been able to break through the veneer of hope/change. Even though his poll numbers are slipping, he could still win this thing.

He is sailing right pass the iceberg this national convention is for him. Could you imagine 4 days of Hope and Change in the most flowery language possible. It would be like a 100 word essay stretch out to make a 1000 word essay. It would come painfully obivious all Obama has to offer is just words for the next four years. Unfortunately, it will be the same ones over and over again. Yes no hope and no change from the mantra of Hope and Change.

The convention has pratfalls for an Obama campaign as focused attention may cause people to recognize the emptiness of the affair. All four days are going to be empty sloganeering of hopey changey, stretching what should be a sentence into a campaign. Ronsboy believes this is the iceburg aspect of the convention, people might notice.

My prediction is we open with the Obama's biography. The next few days the Clintons take a self absorb moment to toot their horns. Press will wonder about the ramifications--will Democrats be able to unify. Then out to Invesco Field to learn "Obama is the one we are waiting for (HOPE) and now is the moment we start the CHANGE to heal the world."

This is just a summary of the activities of convention that we know is coming.

WHAM-BAM!! Nothing said but it did seem historical.

Reiterates the convention is going to sound historical, but BO is still just an empty suit.

PS McCain is BUSH's third term.

The line that is causing the consternation. He is saying that this will be the other big theme of the convention. Mr. Historical HopeyChangey slams McCain as McSame.

All this is just my translation of ronsboy's comment. And I'm not a sockpuppet, so I won't sign it in blood.

It will take a genius to decipher it as a sarcasm. An average guy like me (only a reader/commenter)won't take it as such. I want to be educated about issues ... that's my first goal here at RS. Humors and other stuff (e.g., sarcasm)that distract readers on the flow of discussion are not helpful.
What if a independent/moderate read such comment while paying a visit to RS website? How will he/she take it? a sarcasm? I don't think so. An immediate follow up is necessary to clarify such comment. Or else, it could result to a dangerous "misconnotation".

Further, I am not sure if such subtle sarcasm is the right way to promote and advance our rep/con principles/agenda here at RS.

Ron's boy was clearly being sarcastic at the end and just didn't put the snark tag on.

Read the whole comment. Either I'm blind, deaf and dumb, or he just posted a cognizant post on Mr. Hopeychangey's empty suit.

I am confused RonsBoy as to how you can just trhow out a critical statement as that and yet not back it up with anything definitive. McCain has been a huge critic of the administration on many issues key to conservatives, whether it was the handling of the war in Iraq, pork-barrel spending and earmark, or giving out tax cuts while not cutting spending. Sen. McCain will not be a 3rd Bush term. Yes there will be some similarities (anti-abortion, strong national security influence, low taxes, etc.), but that is the conservative way. There will be differences on how they go about obtaining those goals, with Sen. McCain being more responsible to Americans (fiscal responsibility, engaging allies more, strengthening treaties, and putting more pressure on beligerent nations like Russia). I would love for you to explain how McCain is going to be a 3rd Bush term, because that is a loaded comment that broods much resentment in a large portion of our population and yet you have no ground to stand on with it.

According to wikipedia, Baron is a huge fundraiser for the Democratic Party, chaired Edwards 2004 finance committee then Kerry's, and has given $1.7 million to the Texas Democratic Trust in the last two years.

He had other plays, and chose a play that will cost him yardage and screws up his campaign strategy in multiple ways.
