EDITOR OF REDSTATE

Well, it looks like I was wrong

Does that leave it to Romney? All the signs last evening were that it’d be Tim Pawlenty. The background chatter was Pawlenty. The phone calls were on Pawlenty.

I guess everyone was wrong.

According to the paper this morning, Pawlenty will, in fact, be at the fair and Pawlenty says he was happy to be considered.

So, I’m guessing Romney.

BTW, congrats to John McCain. The man can keep a secret very well. From the Fox panel, to me, to a host of others, the Pawlenty stuff yesterday really got us. Well done.

PS – The late breaking word is Palin. I give up though. She’d be really awesome and definitely something no one saw coming, but wow, that leaves my head spinning.

It looks like we will be hearing from Sarah Palin at 10 ET on Wednesday. Gutsy move by McCain.

It’s been fun to watch the McCain camp keeping everyone guessing. He’s been having fun with cat-and-mouse on this one. Kudos.

The McCain camp has obviously been having a blast watching the media try to read the tea leaves he’s feeding them.

I still think he goes with Romney. It’s the smart pick. Romney can attack with a degree of effectiveness few others possess.

Palin is…well…a woman, and that’s about it. McCain isn’t desperate enough to sacrifice the attack dog role of a VP, along with the “experience” argument, in a last ditch effort to get some disgruntled Hillary supporters on board.

I’d be glad to be wrong, though!

are the women talked that have more government expirence than Palin, KBH was not a serious contender due to being pro-choice and Miller has a worse ACU rating than McCain so she would have been a non-starter.

    Here are your requirements:

    1) Female
    2) Pro-life
    3) SEN or GOV
    4) Republican

    What’s your list?

  • Cheetah772

Since McCain was once in military, he wouled have known something about using diversion tactics.

If true, then I have to admit that the decoy play was an excellent one.

    What do you think?

  • Adam_C

not an executive and *another *senator. Miller is not an executive and just a Congresswoman.

I was so excited last night when I saw the legendary RS police light flashing telling me Gov. Pawlenty was going to be the VP pick. Only to find out Erick was dead, dead wrong. Erick, you’re mistaken – “everyone” was not wrong – YOU, and only YOU, were wrong. YOU were the only imbecile to actually announce that Pawlenty was the choice. That egg looks really good on your face. Really. It suits you, and RedState, just perfect. Thank you.

    LIEBERMAN?!

You know McCain wants to do it. If all the media reports eliminating other candidates are true, he may just have decided to.

John Roberts at CNN makes HUGELY sexist comment asking if McCain will cause Palin’s down-syndrome child to now not have a mother! Disgusting!!! @ about 810am PT on CNN
