Josh Green Is Soooo Totally Full of It

Image descriptionHere is Josh Green talking about the Sarah Palin pick:

Most Republicans have never met Sarah Palin and are processing the news of her selection as VP with the stunned-but-well-meaning emotions you might feel toward an acquaintance who just came out of the closet. Those given to caution when discussing such things at a brunch with journalists put a hopeful, might-be-a-stroke-of-genius spin on their astonishment. Those less inhibited–who are also better people–generally see the pick as irresponsible and politically motivated (and not in a good way).

This is so contrary to the reality of what’s happening on the ground in St. Paul and across the grassroots of the pary, I don’t really even know where to begin.

I was out late last night and have talked with numerous delegates, both at the airport on the way up, and here in St. Paul. Everyone is delighted McCain went bold and picked Palin.

The grassroots relate to her in a way they did not relate to Mitt Romney or Tim Pawlenty.

And that’s the key here. The base is delighted. The delegates are enthusiastic. It is the money men who backed other candidates for President who are disappointed. It’s the people at the top who bet on another horse who are upset. And they already don’t much care for McCain.

But the base, the largest group in the party, the people who really do count at the end of the day, they are quite happy with the pick.

*The other group not happy are the younger wanna-bes who want to be the power players later and are echoing the media conventional wisdom to establish their street-cred. These, of course, are the ones who run also ran campaigns later in life.

is pregnant and marrying the father of her child…..let me be the first to say “so what” and why is this breaking news…..but for the Religious Right let me also say that her daughter is having her child and is marrying the father so don’t even start….because if this were Obama’s child she would be getting rid of the “problem”….I am fired up for this pick and I will not allow any stupidity to reign on this site about this woman’s family……and I will be going to other sites to put in my 2 cents when ignorant people have stupid things to say.

    family matters.

Governor Knowles’, Democrat of course, daughter partied so hard that the police came to the Gov’s House a few times and they finally sent her off to boarding school to get her away from Tony’s political world. The only time any of it made the media here was when one of the guests “accidentally” called 911 from the Gov’s House phone. They couldn’t cover that one up.

The stuff about Trig being Bristol’s kid has been floating around here for some time, but even the predictably tasteless and Democrat Anchorage Daily News wouldn’t pick it up or even let people post anything about it on their political blog. Guess we’re in the big leagues now.

…like abstinence. I hope this doesn’t screw over the McCain/Palin campaign.

this could provide scientific proof that the slanderous lie about Trig is indeed that, as if I remember my Highschool biology lessons correctly overies dont start dropping eggs until 3 months after childbirth. Congrats to the Palin family for the addition to their wonderful family.

Every associate of mine who is a conservative that I have spoken to since Friday has been overwhelmingly positive, and positively energized of the Gov. Palin pick. McCain/Palin is gaining momentum every day and this is a problem for the democrats.

Any Palin negativity is from the more lefty republicans or the democrats. Which I believe to be stemming from a bit of fear of the unknown.

Even I, who obviously would have voted for McCain/whoever, have become excited over this race. And believe me, this is an emotional response I have not had since 1980.

Tell that to any 17 year old who is in Lust…whoops I mean love.

More evidence that Palin is more like any other parent in America, teenagers who do what they do no matter what you tell them…big surprise. This will play well in middle America.

Now let’s see how much the left respects this girl’s privacy.

I posted this on TMR, but never could get it to post here before someone commented.

Anyway, McCain knew all along and he picked her anyway.

The Palin family is exhibit A for the Pro-life cause now more than ever.

And I love the Palin’s response-

“Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support,” the Palins said.

    >

If only more would support their pregnant teens in such a manner.

…McCain and Palin can spin it without the liberals getting in their way.

  • gclaghorn

And we know that the left shouldn’t be talking, but still, they will. They own the MSM, remember.

  • Achance

they trot out something along the lines of, “the reason she’s pregnant is that her mother was neglecting her because she was down in Juneau being Governor?”

Actually, that will get some sympathy here in Juneau, though it isn’t true. Prior Governors who had families moved them to Juneau and enrolled them in school here, etc. Gov. Palin left her family in Wasilla and, in fact, spends very little time here except when the Leg is in session, and not even always then. She stays in her ANC office and lives in her Wasilla home. The Gov’s House in JNU is largely just ceremonial.

this could be the reason why the Far Left is using the girl. I suspect that they might have known this fact early on. They threw worst things on the girl, so that if the dirty lie would be debunked later by a new announcement such as this, the girl’s name would be definitely destroyed forever… and, to their credit, hurt Palin.

Still this is still injustice to me!

TO THE MSM AND FAR LEFT, PLEASE SPARE THE GIRL! DON’T YOU HAVE CONSCIENCE?

  • SteveLA

I think most people in this country who have children of the age of Bristol know this happens no matter how hard parents try to prevent it. Fact of the matter is unless you lock your kids up, stuff happens. Look at how the movie Juno (?) and others portray this sort of thing, today’s culture says one thing, parents another…today’s culture wins unfortunately.

My thinking is that the MSM is right on the edge of getting a bad case of voter backlash, and heavy handed reporting will push Joe six pack over the edge.

I would fall over dead of a coronary if there isn’t already 30 comments of that nature on DKos and DU. But I just ate breakfast and don’t wish to lose it by visiting those manure holes.

It’s about honoring one’s own privacy.

Neither the dems, the far left, nor we have the right to question the girl. It’s her life anyway. It will just do more harm than good to her.

My take: Let us fight the other Party’s spinners to stop harassing the girl for a simple reason of “MERCY”, and nothing more.

  • NightTwister

Telling the truth is all that’s necessary, and showing the world how you handle this sort of thing. I’m proud of the way Bristol, the father of the child, and Sarah handled this situation. The only choice was to take responsibility and pull together as a family.
