We’ve Left The Arena

Image descriptionAlong with everyone else, we’ve left the arena. Show’s over for the day.

The one thing we all agree we hate are the power hungry twenty-somethings who get put in charge of things like Blogger Row. For the most part, they were great, except for one jerk who threw us out of our room.

We were assigned three chairs for eleven people. Right next to us was a room that was not reserved, not used, lights off, etc. So we asked the people managing the floor if we could move our crew in there. “Sure,” they said. Pretty soon a McCain staffer joined us and an RNC staffer joined us. Karl Rove stopped by to say hi.

Several other RNC people came by. We explained the situation. They were cool.

Then this power hungry too with spiky hair threw us and the McCain and RNC people out of the room, turned off the lights, and sat in the room.

Typical.

But we’ll be back tomorrow.

What is the schedule like for tomorrow? I haven’t seen anything in the usual places about the campaign’s or the RNC’s plans for tomorrow? Are we having a convention, or just a shell as we had today?

    I am here.

My wife complained that when she went out into the kitchen to cook dinner, she missed the convention.

We need Chris Cillizza with some instant analysis on how this affects the Republican brand. (Hey, a few weeks ago he tried to analyze the Sunday shows. I thought it cute.)

    Two questions:

    1. Why did you leave the room?

    2. Did you get his name and function so you can publish it tomorrow?

Does anyone know if we’ll see regular convention activities tomorrow? I for one am getting antsy for convention news to fill the obvious vacuum in the media right now. Hurricane coverage is getting stale fast…

I don’t mean to be insensitive for those still dealing with issues, but…

I don’t know why, but the way you described the scene reminded me of what Nancy Pelosi did to the Republican congressmen when they wanted to hold that debate about our energy crisis…

They really wasted a day there. I understand that they didn’t want to be political and divisive, but they only have 4 days! They should have had SOMETHING during primetime. Like maybe speeches encouraging donations to the Red Cross. Instead, even with the hurricane, most of the media attention was on Bristol Palin.

Like how is it that over 30% of the electorate has gone insane with hero worship over an extreme left wing junior senator with no accomplishments and ties to the corrupt Chicago party machine?

Yes I have puzzled about that myself.
