To tell the truth, you never gave me the impression that you were much of a Republican in the first place.

If you remember back on RS2.0 (the subject was drilling and you had just repeated the Democratic argument that since it would take ten years before new oil fields in America would impact on world supply there should be no drilling), I once asked you how it is you could claim to be a Republican and yet throughout your entire time on RS, always accept, wholesale and without caveat, liberal/Democratic premises and talking points on every single issue.

Whether the question was on social, fiscal, national security, judicial, etc. issues you were always a little bit to the Left of Chafee (Linc, that is).

A little too “moderate” I thought.
