Has McCain successfully thrown Obama off his game by doing the Washington trip?

Will we get a lot of populist pablum tonight? I bet so.

Take a shot every time Obama claims he supports the surge.

Shoot yourself in the face if McCain goes after the free market.

In any event, let’s get the beer chilling, the bourbon poured, and start this chat.

WARNING: Taking a shot each time Obama says “Uh” or “Um” will lead to alcohol poisoning. Don’t try it, kids.

Maybe not too bad for you.

I hope all of you who are swooning over Mac and razzberrying Barry are right.

how McCain has “reached across the aisle.” At least get a new cliche.

I could be wrong, and I honestly hope I am. At this moment, in all honesty, I would give Obama the advantage, only slightly, but still. Obama has refuted most of McCain’s points pretty coherantly.

McCain has refuted many points well, even very well, but man… Some of the things, such as Obama pulling the Kissinger quote that McCain didn’t or couldn’t refute, the tax cuts I don’t think McCain adequately refuted the fact that obama raising business taxes passes on to us, the consumers.

Obama has lied through his teeth time and time again, on issues concerning the military, foreign policy, domestic policy…, and McCain hasn’t called him on enough of it. McCain wins the honest battle hands down, but Obama has gotten away with several lies, and frankly, the average ignorant voter who pays attention to the MSM and takes it to heart would be leaning on Obama listening to this debate, and that scares me.

I really hope I’m just another doomsayer, I really do, as of the Afghanistan question, I think the favorably would be leaning Obama.

Something I thought of after seeing the debate, regarding Obama’s admissions of McCain’s correctness:

Two ways to look at that if John McCain is right all the time:

1.) John McCain is right and Barack Obama agrees with him. If that’s the case, the logical equation is Barack Obama=John McCain. And, if John McCain=George W. Bush like Obama says he is, then Barack Obama=George W. Bush.

2.) John McCain is right and Barack Obama doesn’t agree with him. If that’s the case, and Barack Obama already has admitted that McCain is right, then the logical derivative is that Barack Obama is wrong.

Obama is wrong, or Obama=Bush. Pick your poison, libs.

    “I have a bracelet, too.”

serves him well, time and again.

McCain is not able to get coherent depth into his answers.

Lots of O’s stretches of the truth went unchallenged.

Mac needs to get back to DC and author the McCain/Gregg Financial Rescue Bill.

Responding to Obama’s comment that Obama’s greatest fear is a terrorist having nuclear weapons, McCain replied: “My greatest fear is having a friend of a terrorist
    having control of nuclear weapons.”

Every word and physical gesture was a lie! Obama is a poseur of the first magnitude! I can’t stand seeing or hearing him anymore. I am amazed McCain didn’t launch himself at Obama’s throat. I would have and I have considerable self restraint.

I thought it’s brotha Flagstaff who is being accused as a liar.

    And I was wrong. LOL!

We blow Israel off the face of earth! McCain”No you’re not. Oh Please.”

ha ha ha Obama looked shocked.

Obama looked at McCain many times but I don’t recall McCain looking at Obama once. I think McCain seriously dislikes Obama. With commercials playing on his bout with cancer and attacks on Sarah Palin’s family, I don’t blame him.

My dad doesn’t pay much attention to politics but he predicted Obama would come off with smart-ass smirks. Dad was right. Obama was just plain childish.

My biggest surprise was the moderation. Jim Leherer was very fair. No softballing or enabling of Obama as I would expect from the liberal press. Three cheers for Jim!

I don’t recall the exact points (I’d have to go back and watch my recording) but there were at least 3 times when a fact was disputed by one of the candidates. In other words, there were 3 times when someone either outright lied or misrepresented the truth.

McCain could have made a better case for tax cuts. I think he spent too much time on spending.

McCain got a pretty good jab in there with the “on the job training” line. I wish he would have added, “as your own VP said about you in a primary debate”.

“McCain could have made a better case for tax cuts. “

He needed to expand more on why tax rate cuts result in higher tax revenues to be used to pay down the debt.

We have been getting along fine without all those new programs Obama wants. Save that money.

“What spending would you cut, Senator McCain?”

“I’d start by cutting all the new spending that Obama wants to install.”
