BREAKING: Democrat Candidate Says “America’s Greatest Enemy Is America.”

In Alabama’s 5th Congressional District, Democratic candidate Parker Griffith is out to educate voters on who America’s greatest enemy is.

According to Parker, “America’s greatest enemy is America and its materialism.” Note: I had it as “imperialism,” but according to the source who provided it, it was “materialism” not “imperialism.”

Speaking to the Colbert-Lauderdale Baptist Association on September 15th, Parker decided to give everyone a clue on where he stands. He was asked about radical Islam and its threat to the United States. Forgetting all about September 11th, the U.S.S. Cole bombing, Richard Reid, the coordinated plot to blow up American airlines over the Pacific, etc, Parker said the following:

I think America’s greatest enemy is America and its materialism.

And I think that . . . uh . . . we have nothing to fear from radical Islam. We have nothing to fear from any other religion if we are strong on our own beliefs. I don’t fear radical Islam.

There you have it. Another Democrat who thinks the only fear we have to fear is America itself.

The twist here is that Parker Griffith is running against a Republican who just might pick up this Democratic leaning seat. Wayne Parker is the the Republican candidate. Both Parker Griffith and Wayne Parker are trying to succeed Rep. Bud Cramer (D-AL).

You can listen to the audio of Parker Griffith here if the flash player doesn’t work for you.

That’s correct- the only thing American have to fear is imperialism, Capitalim and Nationalism.
The only things the Democrat Party believs in are Marxism, Communism and Socialism.
    Obama: “Spread the wealth.”
    (And take YOUR ammunition!)
    Don’t worry about Islamic radicalism.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!
It’s better to have You Money in THEIR pocket – and go ahead and let our country be annihilated by terrorists!
    UNBELIEVABLE!

    Greedy- but DEAD.

The progressive liberals will not be happy until they have converted the US into their version of France. Run, surrender, 20 hour work weeks, entitlements for all…

Now where did I put the alcohol?

This doesn’t surprise me. Parker Griffith is a doctor in Huntsville, Alabama, where I grew up (and where my father practiced medicine for decades). As I understand it, he left his position at a local hospital with some real questions and rumors. He’s not well respected by many in his profesion, and amassed a war chest to run this political campaign.

His GOP opponent, Wayne “Peanut” Parker, graduated from Huntsville High School with my sister in 1978. He hates the name “Peanut”, but I couldn’t resist. He’s a good man and can wrap Dr. Griffith’s words around his neck like a stethoscope.

By the way, Dr. Griffith is NOT cut out of the same cloth as Bill Frist or Tom Coburn…OBVIOUSLY!

    Go WAYNE PEANUT PARKER!

No Mr. Griffith, America’s greatest enemy is liberalism.

add links to the candidate’s websites? I found one guy I like, Olson, but I had to dig around to find his issues. That might slow some folks down.

Also, after I signed in, it’s a little hard to find this blog again.

One more thing, no one would have been able to see the shaving cream behind your ear anyway. Good speech.
