We just saw it, been awhile. But, the left loves their “known facts.”

  • flyerhawk

He said that the media has reported that someone said kill him.

I believe that is an incontrovertible fact.

… and neither McCain nor the moderator followed-up with the fact that those reports were inaccurate.

    Sigh.

There were two incidents of people yelling “kill him” and the most recent one was likely directed towards Obama.

From the Times Tribune of Scranton, PA:

However, someone did shout out, “Kill him!” during Republican congressional candidate Chris Hackett’s remarks before Mrs. Palin took the stage.

The outburst came during a round of booing from the crowd after Mr. Hackett said Mr. Obama should come to Pennsylvania and learn what the state’s values are.

Obviously, Barry sees Ayers as his brother and felt so affronted about someone saying something so ugly towards his brother it felt like a personal attack. It makes perfect sense that he was confused by the comment.

I’m going to come right out and say it.
    Mr. Singleton is lying.

According to his October 15th article, Mr. Singleton states:

The remark came while congressional candidate Chris Hackett was addressing the crowd at the Riverfront Sports Complex. There is no indication Mr. Hackett or Mrs. Palin, who took the stage a half-hour later, heard the remark.

Well, according to Agent Bill Slavoski of the Secret Service, who was present at the event in Scranton, along with an undisclosed number of additional secret service agents and other law enforcement officers and not one heard the comment.

?I was baffled,? he said after reading the report in Wednesday?s Times-Tribune.

Agent Slavoski said that after seeing Mr. Singleton’s story on Wednesday, the agency conducted an investigation.

Over 20 non-security agents were interviewed, from news media to ordinary citizens who were in attendance at the rally.

    The results of the investigation…?

Agent Slavoski concludes that Mr. Singleton was *the only one *to say he heard someone yell ?kill him.?
and they could not find one single person to corroborate the allegation.

Ironically, Mr. Singleton wrote an interesting little piece on September 26th… regarding a lawsuit being filed against the paper regarding their “source” for a story they published about a statewide grand jury investigation of the Lackawanna County Prison.

The story also reveals that this was not the first time the paper had been faced with questionable reporting habits. In fact, they have a rather nasty history of being sued for writing inflamatory, life-ruining articles about people.

Nevertheless… the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled that The Times-Tribune could not be forced to disclose the identity of a confidential source for stories.

?The news media have a right to report news, regardless of how the information was received,? Chief Justice Ronald D. Castille wrote in the 26-page majority opinion.

Clearly, Mr. Singleton is taking advantage of this ruling to write his own headlines while daring anyone to challenge him.

If you think McCain should have quibbled about whose death was being called for, I’ve got a house in Detroit to sell you.

  • Patricia_C

He just covered this story and said the same thing… Mr. Singleton LIED!
There is NO evidence or any witnesses who corroborate his claim…. NO one.

  • drothgery

No one said ‘kill him’ about anyone. The reporter made it up.

The Times Leader (Scranton, PA) newspaper reports the Singleton report in Times Tribune has no substantiating evidence, AS INVESTIGATED BY THE SECRET SERVICE. According to SSAgent Bill Slavoski “We have yet to find someone to back up the story.” PERIOD, the Secret Service and local Law enforcement were there, it DID NOT OCCUR. The MSM, was of course, quick to pick up and run with the untruth (and we’ll not see the retractions), while the vile (in print, on signs and shirts the Leftists wear) goes without any comment (see here: Leftist filth at rallies RS discussion)
