John Murtha Is Ripe For A Beat Down & Defeat

Friends, Bill Russell, who I did not think had a shot in hell, is kicking Murtha all over Pennsylvanian.

I’m delighted to have been wrong about this race. Bill Russell is ahead in the polling and Murtha is about to get some serious beat downs and surprises this week from some angry Marines he slandered.

We can and should help pick off Nancy Pelosi’s consigliere. He has slandered our soldiers. He has slandered his countrymen. He has slandered his own voters calling them racists and rednecks.

Bill Russell is a good man. Bill Russell is a soldier. Bill Russell can win.

Let’s help Bill Russell.

and thought he was great. Mark broke the news to him that he is surging ahead of Murtha (Mark calls him Lard Ass!). This guy definitely deserves help from all of us.

    Murtha OUT! Russell IN!

It will be a delight to see Murtha retired. I really hope that the voters of his congressional district decide to vote him out. It looks good for Russell, but Murtha has clung like a tick for decades.

    I couldn’t believe it myself.

    Hat tip to Powerline.

Pete Hegseth and VetsForFreedom are up in arms over this, and rightly so.

What’s bad about this? VFW just tossed Murtha a lifeline, and the Democrat-friendly MSM a talking point.

Now, when Bill Russell and the Haditha Marines unload on Murtha this week, Murtha can hide behind the VFW.

Oh my…what if this turns out to be the one thing Murtha needed to stave off Russell?

If worse comes to worse, it only buys Murtha two more years in office.

The damage to the VFW’s reputation, on the other hand, could be lasting. I personally pledge to do everything in my power, as a regular commenter on that site, to inflict said damage.

    c17wife, are you with me?

Finally, there seems to be some GOOD news for American voters in this election. Getting rid of this arrogant, out-of-touch drunk will be a breath of fresh air in Washington’s stagnant cesspool of hateful politics.

can be beaten this year. Col. Russell is the real deal and the only reason I’ve heard expressed by people in PA-12 for supporting Jack Murtha is that “he gets us stuff.” More often, though, you’ll hear that this is not the Jack Murtha whom they elected a decade ago.

Actually, it’s a return. As a young Congressman, he had his high on the party’s top spots in Congress when he was caught partying in ABSCAM. A short while ago, his dreams of power returned and he started playing the anti-Iraq game, calling national attention to himself. That failed for him before this Congress, and he’s just filling space.

The people of PA-12 are not happy about being lampooned by SNL because of Murtha either.

If Murtha’s going to lose before he quits, it will happen in a week. The dynamics are in place.

Any Polls that you can cite?

A field he is familiar with.

When he piles trash and lies on our American heroes, he deserves retirement.

If you have not sent a check to the Russell campaign, see Erik’s link above.

    Regards

My apologies to anyone in the refuse business. I did not intend to compare you in any way with pond scum like Murtha.
You furnish a valuable service to the community, unlike Murtha who damages America at every opportunity.

Susquehanna has it 46% to 41% for Murtha.

Dane & Associates has it 48% to 35% for Russell.

I don’t know what reputation these firms have. However, considering what Murtha has said about his own constituents, you would think that normal voters would object. And Russell has enough money to get his message across.

I hope Russell wins this. Things are shaping up poorly across the country, and this is one of the few races where the GOP candidate is doing better than he should.

Doc Holliday’s Diary: Let’s bring down Murtha is the number one Recommended Diary for the last several days and will remain such until after the election. If you haven’t visited that Diary, do so and recommend to keep it atop the list.
