Legislator-Marine Gets Attacked For Serving His Country

"He went AWOL" on his constituents by serving in Iraq

Joel Mowbray has a must read column today about a Marine, running for office in Ohio, who is being attacked for serving in the military by his political opponent. Rep. Josh Mandel is a Republican State Legislator in Ohio. His opponent, Bob Belovich, hates both the war and the military in general. Barbara Belovich said Josh “went AWOL” by fighting in Iraq.

Even Mr. Mandel’s motives for serving in Iraq are being questioned. Mrs. Belovich claimed in an interview with this columnist that Mandel “put his personal ambitions ahead of his constituents.” Asked why anyone would enter a war zone out of “personal ambition,” Barbara Belovich replied curtly, “Certainly he wasn’t serving our needs.”

Barbara Belovich also said Mr. Mandel “isn’t serving our country, he’s serving George Bush” and “[Mandel] feels that his obligation to George Bush is stronger than his, you know, his obligation to the people in the 17th District.”

The man went to Iraq as a Marine and fought for this country. Bob Belovich and his wife, however, condemns him for doing so. Hear the audio here:

And I am PROUD to have a sign in my yard bearing his name.

I have also noticed that even yards with Obama signs in my district have Josh Mandel re-election signs in their yards. I have yet to see a Belovich sign.

The 60′s movement was something never seen before in this country. And, nobody at that time really knew the dangers of it, or didn’t really understand what it was about. Or, how it would play a role in politics today. However, now we’re aware and see what it has done and what it means. This isn’t the 60′s anymore, people are aware. Actually, now that it has become a obvious threat, people are paying more and more attention to it. Wich, is why after the economy, all the money that has been spent, and the left still can’t overwhelmingly gain support should tell everybody something. People are starting to wise up to it. The left has tried, deceit, lies, illegal means, overwhelming spending for elections and everything else to get the upper hand. And, it still can’t. Yes, the polls are wrong and Americans won’t by nature ever accept it. It backfires on the left everytime. They will fail miserably, because that ideology is alien to an American. The military, protects America and everything in it. Even scumbags, like the freakish left and it’s drugs. If it’s not drugs, it’s insanity or just plain evil. However, anybody wants to label it, the left is a extreme threat to our nation, even the military that protects it.

…”Of course I support the troops, but that doesn’t mean I condone my opponent following orders and serving in an illegal Bush war.”

If he is called on this blatantly anti-military/nonsensical political rhetoric, I predict he will say he supports the troops to cover his behind.
