Question of the Day

I wrote a post on November 21st. I have put it in the queue to go live tomorrow morning. It relates to the Georgia Senate race. The damage is already done so I figured I’d hold my fire until after the race was over so as not to distract from the real issues.

But the question is: which consulting firm engaged in a conflict of interest, self-dealing, and in the process cost the GOP thousands of dollars and hundreds of man hours by duplicating a mistake after already coming under fire for the mistake once?

Find out tomorrow.

And consider this an open thread.

so we can repair the loose thread, before the whole sweater unravels ;-)

Let me relay that I just got back from voting.

The lines were nonexistent, and I’m in downtown Atlanta.

To put it in perspective, I had an hour and a half wait for the general, and literally three minutes in and out today.

That can’t bode well for Martin who spent Sunday at Ebenezer Baptist (two blocks away) ‘rallying’
    the urban vote.

    I’m hopeful.

    Just guessing….

What, no “Black Panther” types there to “secure” the polling place to report?

Like I said before, we need to have the Polls covered by Girl Scouts… Fight hate with Cookies!

get rid of the barely comment worthy diaries and find some other venue for the ‘Today’s Headlines’ by Marie Stainer.

More worthy diaries are dropped off the bottom because of these things.

Do you not have a delete button? Maybe this has been covered before and I missed it.

    I’m just wondering.

I don’t speak for the directors, I be one of them thar regular user types.

But I know that some substantial changes were made about a month back in regards to the diaries. First, the rotation of the Rec List has been altered in favor of, how to put this, more rotation. Easier to make the list, a diaries not staying up there past about 2-3 days.

Second, the moderators do cull out, on a case-by-case basis, the diaries that are basically one-paragraph comments — specifically to help thin out the ‘recent diaries’ list. To that end they have made an effort to toss out more frequent Open Threads to facilitate people blessing us with those one-paragraph thoughts, which are often worthwhile.

The second thing above is not systematic or automated, but I know they are doing it. Part of the problem here is a problem of becoming a large-draw, large-community site. We just have a ton of people with something to say.

    Hope this helps.

Hat tip to Neal Boortz for this absurd story out of the UK:

Fire extinguishers could be removed from communal areas in flats throughout the country because they are a safety hazard, it has emerged.

The life-saving devices encourage untrained people to fight a fire rather than leave the building, risk assessors in Bournemouth decided.

I just got a new RSS gadget…how do I get RS plugged into it?

  • aaronbg

    n/t

  • bs

There’s no RSS feed “marker” on the homepage, so it doesn’t trigger my Firefox. I tried feeds.redstate.com, but it redirects back to here. How’d you do it?

  • aaronbg

I downloaded the hermes rss reader gadget for vista…then I plugged in this address to the gadget:

    http://www.redstate.com/comments/feeds/latest-comments/

and clicked add…this provides my reader with everything from the recent comments list.

I am not sure how it would work on FF.

    Plaxico Burress of course.
On a more serious note, I hope his attorney challenges Bloomberg’s NYC gun laws.
