who votes for this bail out should be hung by the chimney with care.

    Why bother?

  • RetNAV

Dumbest member of United States Senate.

Can’t recall which one, Boxer or DiFi, during the $700 billion TARP bailout said her calls and messages were 9 to 1 against the financial bailout, but voted for it anyway.

  • $peciallist

    lol

  • RetNAV

Could probably find one, but it would just be a ghostly image where she was.

Seems she has kept a pretty low profile since the questions about her seeming conflict of interest IRT milcon a couple of years ago.

  • mbecker908

    the Senator from DC.

Senator Kyl (R-AZ) will not support the bail out bill and will “likely” vote to sustain a filibuster. They aide read his statement which says the Big 3 should file C11 and reorganize. The statement isn’t on his Senate website yet.

Senator McCain (R?-DC) is “leaning towards” not supporting the bail out.

  • mbecker908

Here is a list of all US Senators, their DC phone numbers and links to their websites.

  • Kudzu

were against the bailout last I called and that’s unlikely to change. With a new KIA plant opening up in West Point and several non-union suppliers down here- they’d be voting themselves out of office.

Warner bsy, bsy, bsy…..and the same for McConnell!

    Ms. Senator,

The most important vote you can make for social justice this year is to oppose this fatcat bailout. The UAW is an Anglo Patriarchy which takes for itself without showing solidarity with other, more culturally diverse unions.

Plus it rakes in profits at the expense of the planet.

For the sake of all of us children of Gaia on the coastline, I beg you to oppose this bailout!

the way I did it with Webb’s office :clears throat: I don’t want the Senator to vote for this bill because the only person who is going to benefit is President Bush’s former Treasury Secretary John Snow….did you know that his investment firm owns all of Chrysler and part of GM?…..(young man) no ma’am I did not know that (me) Well I don’t want the Bushies to benefit on the way out the door!

Well as Erick said himself when confronted by other Repubs with whom he disagrees “Who needs ‘em?”.

The only problem is, without some Repubs that are more like Bush than note, Erick and his ilk would never get more attention than they do at their snake handling tent revivals!

Your diaries are right at the top of members diaries and yet you have included the link in responses one of which has nothing to do with the bailout!

I question it because it seems odd.

Is kicking bigots like Erick right in his “Jesus lovin’ bullocks” using this own site technology.

Will you kick me off for using terms like bullocks?

  • Tanggor

    for being an annoying moron.

    Seems like justification enough.

  • repobvoter1

Why are you throwing the link to your diary into your comments?

Whoever has his enemy at his mercy &
does not destroy him is his own enemy

It is because the post accomplices the latter – it destroys Erick’s credibility. Erick’s wing of the GOP has nothing to add but their religiosity. His bailout phobia is due to the “populism” he derives from his religion. He never made anything but a sermon, in his life.

  • NightTwister

    Cleanup on aisle 5.

  • bs

I already asked for your asinine diary to be deleted. It’s gone, and I’m sure you will be soon.

The only credibility that is destroyed is your own in showing what an ass you are.

  • repobvoter1

he is the moron. If you hang with him you deserve what you get. I’ve been reading this blog for over a year and I’ve never seen anyone as stupid as him..

  • repobvoter1

Then you will be back to the “sterile state” that you had prior.

    Erick would be very pleased.

  • Jaded

You know NOTHING! Just so you can educate yourself on the GOP it has 3 legs of a stool and without one of those legs the stool will fall over and look stupid you know like you look right at this very moment in time.

You don’t like the religious right? that is a personal decision for yourself BUT DO NOT slime up with site with your ignorant bias against them….TOOL!

  • Tanggor

you’re just weird. Hair up the anus? Nothing substantive to say?

Erick is a good guy. His faith is stronger than mine, and informs his position more than mine. So what? I say again, Erick is a good guy.

If you are anywhere near Northern VA, I’m sure you and I can chat about this in a more personal way that involves me pounding you bloody.

    Erick is nice.

I, however, am not known to be.

  • repobvoter1

Hahaha – tough talk I like it.

Ya know, most propositions for a date on the internet are when the intentions of the propopasitoner is to get something of his up the backside of the propopostionee.

Tangor – you sure your not a latent “Pooper Pirate?”

Erick is a simple minded religious bigot – if you follow his posts you would know.

Faith? – there are many of us who have the same without resorting his clutching at scripture.

such your stupidity will not cause you bodily harm however at some point in life karma will come around and bite you because tools such as yourself always talk out of turn somewhere that someone will hurt you for it! I have faith that will occur!

Called the offices of both Senator Nelson & Senator Martinez.

Very polite people on both lines and I hope both gentlemen realize the light at the end of the tunnel is indeed a freight train a-comin’.

Thing is, it’s our freight train if they vote yea.

Will also send e-mails to both, as those are a matter of public record and I’m not hiding behind any anonymous call or posting anywhere.

    Cheers !

  • Tanggor

that made me smile. It’s been awhile since I’ve had anyone try the old schoolyard masculinity taunt method.

Alas, my “tough talk” is merely a recognition that some folks (like yourself) are unable to learn any other way. I usually avoid volunteering for a teaching role, due to the obvious legal ramifications.

In your case, however, I’m inclined to make an exception.

Beyond that, it seems your issue is a personal one with Erick. Why the venom?

Is getting banned some kind of “feather-in-the-cap” thing with you? Have you really so little to say of substance that this is the best you can do?

I’ve been here a couple years, and I’ve read lots of Erick’s stuff. While I’m sure we don’t concur on all things, never once have I found him guilty of the charge you level.

Perhaps you really have nothing better to offer.

The prevailing wisdom on Fox today seemed to be that the passage or not of this “bailout” hinges on a game of chicken being played by the unions and the senate republicans. The unions, for whom a lot of the blame for this current situations rests, will not make any concessions, and why should they? If the car companies can hang on until Obama is inaugurated, they will be protected forever, the rest of the country be damned. Anyway, according to the panel on Fox, the republicans, are holding out, demanding the concessions. My fear is that the unions have bigger mangos and will win the game of chicken.

My question is, how can we ever beat the well oiled machine of the thug unions? Now, I say this as a person who was a union member for sixteen years. My dues kept going up and my money was always spent supporting people and causes I did not support, when I complained, I was told that the money would go to people favoring unions whether I liked it or not. I realize it was a different situation, a strike, but Ronald Regan stood up to the union, broke it, and won, And the destruction of that union has not, to my knowledge, caused the sky to fall. People work as air traffic controllers, are paid well, and things run smoothly. Unions are a relic, a detriment today, feeding the wallets of corrupt leadership, how do we beat them???

  • Kyle

The Unions had been in steep decline for many years. Now it is true that Democrats in charge will give them a shot in the arm. But you cannot change the essentials. We no longer are a manufacturing economy, and we have to compete with the rest of the world.

The Unions are still dinosaurs and if the Dems cannot get the economy to respond then they will be discredited along with their union bosses.

  • DavidS1787

he doesn’t listen to any of his constituents! It was very unfortunate that he was re-elected this year for another 6 year term! When will the people of ILLINOIS Wake UP? I vote against Durbin and for the Republican Steve Sauerberg!

Durbin Could careless how bad our economy gets. BTW [Durbin's wife and son are lobbyists!](http://www.sj-r.com/news_columnists/x256659268/Bernard-Schoenburg-Durbin-can-live-with-Lieberman-s-grand-departure)

It looks like we are about to be snookered big time. The Senate GOP is apparently getting a compromise that gives the “car czar” stronger powers than was originally planned – more like a bankruptcy judge.

Well there’s one slight difference. As soon as Obama takes office and dumps the Bush car czar for a new one who won’t touch the UAW, it’s as if this so-called compromise were tossed out and all the bad parts kept in.

Instead of creating a role that at its best would almost be maybe kinda sorta like a bankruptcy judge, here’s a thought – let’s let a REAL bankruptcy judge do it!

    I live in the woods
    Where nothing’s as it seems
    Beneath the stars one night
I met the woodchuck of my dreams
    She’s always biting
And my heart cuts like a tree
    Nothing but splinters
Those teeth are sharper than they seem

    (Critters have feelings)
    Well critters have feelings
    (Critters have feelings too)
    (Critters have feelings)
    Oh critters have feelings
    (What’s a critter gonna do)

    I live on a leaf
And I crawl cause she makes me
    Last week she sprouted wings
And this butterfly did fly fly away
    Seeing other people
Maybe I should do the same
    An ex-caterpillar
Her wings grew bigger then I dreamed

    (Critters have feelings)
    Well critters have feelings
    (Critters have feelings too)
    Well, critters have feelings too
    (Critters have feelings)
    Oh critters have feelings
(What’s this critter done to you)

What’s this critter done to you
    Thirty seven years ago
She put a spell on me
A spell where when I talking
    I’m singing with glee

    (Critters have feelings)
    Well critters have feelings
    (Critters have feelings too)
    Well critters have feelings too
    (Critters have feelings)
    Oh critters have feelings
    (What’s a critter gonna do)

Well what’s this critter gonna do
    (Critters have feelings)
And I could burrow and I could swing
    (Critters have feelings too)
But this forest don’t mean a thing
    (Critters have feelings)
    …Without you now

    And animals have feelings
(What’s this critter done to you)
    Animals have feelings
    (Critters have feelings)
    Critters have feelings oh whoa
    (Critters have feelings too)

    You know critters have feelings
    what’s a critter gonna do

He really doesn’t have anything to offer, with the lone exception of a case study for some eager young psychology student, which this last post goes a long way to solidifying.

I guess you know you have made it on a website when you have your own little stalker. Congrats, Erick.

  • Husker

I don’t know if my Senators (Hagel – Nelson) will listen to reason on this, as they were both quoted as being inclined to support the $14 billion. I gave my two cents on this issue, and urged others to do so also.

My prediction is that Nelson will toe party line not to upset Dem leadership with the new session around the corner. Hagel? Who knows where his head is? It seems he’s content to coast out the rest of his term working not to burn bridges with the DC cocktail and rubber chicken circuit. I wish Johanns was in that seat already.

  • RetNAV

    from KLo @thecorner:

Barbara Boxer, a few minutes ago on the Senate floor: “…this is the Christmas season. My goodness, let’s take a chance on this. Let’s take a chance on this.”

Now, that is some high falutin’ legislative reasoning from a member of The World’s Most Deliberative Body.

As I said, Babs Boxer, the dumbest member of United States Senate.
