To be more effective in 2009, we all need to do a better job organizing.

If you are interested in being a part of the Army of Redstate Activists in your state, please fill out the form below. We’ll post this on a regular basis.

Let’s organize.

You can add the code to your signature line in your profile with this:

What a deal! Good Luck with this Eric and RedState!

We should, as a part of Red State local hold local Anti-Inauguration Parties… even if it’s only a couple of us in a bar… A GREAT REASON to get together and drink

  • http://www.erickerickson.org Erick Erickson

    I do love that graphic.

  • janis

that we will have many, many reasons to drink over the next few years.

If we can still afford it. Fortunately, I live in an area that still produces moonshine. If ya’ll start running short, just give me a holler.

  • $peciallist

    thanks

  • Kenny Solomon

If you want patches, t-shirts, other merch made, I’ve got a bunch of places to work with ….. let me know.

    Cheers !

  • Kenny Solomon

    ;)

J/K…. I’ve got a nice stock of Crown Royal Cask 16 and Famous Grouse Gold Reserve at my disposal.

  • janis

all of us come to wish you a Happy New Year! We’ll bring the chips.

  • George Claghorn

    Woo hoo! Thanks, Erick.

Tommy Christopher has continued with his obsession of the site.

    Conservative Website RedState Goes Militant

  • George Claghorn

    1) Moe/Neil can get the IP address he used to register for RS.

    2) Use an HTACCESS rule that displays a short note telling him to kindly [Expletive] Off every time he tries to come here.

    3) Have the note redirect to the RNC contribution website.

  • http://www.theminorityreportblog.com/ Brian Simpson

I know what you are referring to, but I’m actually a seasoned expert in how to handle Tommy Christopher.

Let’s just say that math isn’t his <a href=”http://www.blogtalkradio.com/Unusable-Signal/2008/11/01/Unusable-Signal-Tommy-Christopher-and-Caleb-Howe”strong suit (skip to the part where we actually get into health care and enjoy the shellacking).

  • http://www.theminorityreportblog.com/ Brian Simpson
  • http://www.hakubi.us/ Neil Stevens

Judging by the constant complaints I got about Markdown anyway :-)

  • http://www.theminorityreportblog.com/ Brian Simpson

I actually got quite good with it, especially since it’s an option for both blogs and comments over at The Minority Report.

  • George Claghorn

Here it is in all its raw filth:

    Simpson,

are you seriously calling ME petty? This is a good, substantive post. Is that what your mother told you? She lied. Granted, I wasn’t reading RedState before Erick decided to start in on me, but that’s the only cause-and-effect here. I’m happy as a not-fired clam about all of this.

Notice he didn’t have the courage to come over to RS and call you out about this on your own turf. What a pansy.

  • http://www.theminorityreportblog.com/ Brian Simpson

He really just said “good, substantive post”! That’s rich.

I’m going to echo Alan’s comment over there:

So, it’s okay for the left-wingers to organize and concentrate their efforts, but not conservatives? How typical.

    How typical indeed.

  • streetwise

to, er, *uck off, on the air!

And, yes, the concept of imputed income and offsetting tax credits appears to be too much for Tommy, poor thing.

  • George Claghorn

Brian, you are my idol. ;)

  • http://www.erickerickson.org Erick Erickson

Wish we’d install that WPMU Markdown plugin.

  • http://www.erickerickson.org Erick Erickson

Seriously. He’s apparently saying he never came over here until after I started in on him?

How the hell did he know about my post on that song then? And he’s admitted to multiple accounts over here.

The guy sounds like a pathological nut job.

Also, he strikes me as the type of unstable sort that wants his name in lights. I suggest not mentioning his name. It’ll piss him off more.

  • bs

But I suspect Neil is not enthralled with such things. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the editor switch to vi some day…

  • http://www.theminorityreportblog.com/ Brian Simpson
  • $peciallist

How long has he been doing ‘Unusually circular arguments Signals’ with caleb?……..at least that long

  • http://www.hakubi.us/ Neil Stevens

I do intend to get the same editor for comments that we have for posts, though.

  • TommyXtopher

    Simpson,

are you seriously calling ME petty? This is a good, substantive post. Granted, I wasn’t reading RedState before Erick decided to start in on me, but that’s the only cause-and-effect here. I’m happy as a not-fired clam about all of this.

  • Streiff

not very manly. But, then again, any asshat who’d misrepresent his own identity to get in a question on conference call would never be expected to show manly behavior.

  • Patricia_C

    “Attention Deficit Disorder”
I guess this is what happens when you spend your whole life… (ahem)… not “getting any”…

  • Moe Lane

    Second time isn’t the charm.

Alas, we ban on sight for fibbing and duplicate accounts; but maybe Erick will take pity on you, and reverse your banning.

  • janis

get the blamming he so richly deserved. What a shame, Tommy, to have it confirmed for the entire blogosphere that you are just plain stupid.

  • streetwise

his hit-producing foray on RS is entirely explainable.

If you want to drive him into an incoherent frenzy, just question the divinity of The One. You will have him frothing at the mouth in no time.

Vermont sucks…no mail delivery where I live, P.O. Boxes only.

  • George Claghorn

I am NOT misquoting you. YOU left the comment on YOUR blog post.

    Don’t insult your own intelligence.

  • George Claghorn

Don’t let the door hit you.

  • George Claghorn
  • http://www.erickerickson.org Erick Erickson

    So use the PO Box.

  • DerKrieger

    Erick,

I’d like to hear more about 10th Amendment issues. I’m a big believer in Federalism and believe it can be effectively used to break the power of Liberalism b/c its harder to fight 50 battles in 50 state capitols than one in DC. We’d all, Liberals and Conservatives, be better off under a federal system.

Walter Williams wrote a great piece earlier this year, http://townhall.com/columnists/WalterEWilliams/2008/07/16/oklahoma_rebellion about the efforts of Rep. Charles Key of the OK state legislature to pass a 10th amendment bill and the precedent it could set. After reading Dr. Williams’ article I wrote Rep. Key to get the draft of his bill to share with my state rep here in Arkansas. He obliged and also placed me on a 10th amendment mailing list. Last week I received an update on his efforts I’d like to share. However it came as a pdf attachment on Ok legislature letterhead. If you’re interested I can send it to you.

And on the technical side can you not allow the “Leave a Comment” window to be seen if a user is not logged in? I always assume I’m logged in and when I hit submit I get an error message telling me to log in first.

  • Tommy Christopher

[Seriously, folks: let us know when the retreads show up. - Moe Lane]

  • janis

And do you always make it a point to hang around where you are neither wanted nor respected?

  • NightTwister
  • janis

the “traffic” he thinks he’s responsible for.

  • Brian Hibbert

Along with the problem of the changing quote marks, the hrefs in the pastable code point to http://www.redstate.com/erick/2009/01/01/redstate-in-2009/
causing a “not found” when clicking the link.

I assume you wanted it to point to this post which is now:
    http://www.redstate.com/erick/2009/01/02/redstate-in-2009/

You might want to update the code for others to paste.

  • IlliniJon

When will this info be used, and what for? How is this different from joining the facebook group, getting action alert e-mails, etc?

    Thanks for the clarification.

    Jon

  • Wubbies World

… in South Dakota. I have exchanged several e-mails this morning with conservative contacts that I have here in the state. On January 13th the Governor will deliver the state of the state address and open the legislative session.

I will be talking with a conservative state rep and having dinner with another group of conservatives. I am working on talking with a conservative state senator too that I have met previously, but one hurdle at a time. I have told them what I envision and they want to introduce me to some people who can be of help.

We may be a Red State here in South Dakota, but we have a blue delegation in Washington. It is time to fix that.

The first step on any journey is with the first step……

  • Wubbies World

and coordinating of efforts to help each other.

  • 10ksnooker

People understand the extent of the leftists propaganda network on the Internet. For every major subject of political importance, you will find a left wing propaganda website that broadcasts the daily propaganda message about that subject to the leftists nuts. That message gets then carried and depositied on practically every major forum out there.

That’s what we are up against … A propaganda networ and organization, backed by billions of dollars and woven into everything of political importance to the left.
