EDITOR OF REDSTATE

Media Turns on Obama, Part 2

The White House is treating the press like the press corp is Obama’s pet. They whored themselves to get Obama elected, so they can hardly be surprised by it. Nonetheless, they are upset Obama’s pay to play marketing operation continues.

Veteran CBS newsman Bill Plante was one of the most vocal critics, questioning the White House’s handling of Wednesday night’s second swearing in – which was covered by just a four-reporter print pool that didn’t include a news photographer or TV correspondent.

He also asked new press secretary Robert Gibbs why ABC, which paid millions to host the DC Neighborhood Ball, was granted the only inauguration day interview with President Obama – a move he equated to “pay to play.”

“We have a tradition here of covering the president,” said Plante, who is covering his fourth administration.

What’s fun about this is that not all the press has gotten the memo. As Fox News notes, not everyone in the press is upset. Some still want to sexually gratify themselves in front of The One:

Pressed further by the Politico reporter about his Pentagon nominee, Obama turned more serious, putting his hand on the reporter’s shoulder and staring him in the eye.

“All right, come on” he said, with obvious irritation in his voice. “We will be having a press conference, at which time you can feel free to [ask] questions. Right now, I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself to you guys — that’s all I was trying to do,” Politico.com reported.

The situation came to a close when a cameraman in the room interrupted, declaring: “I’d like to say it one more time: ‘Mr. President.’”

Just after his first presser after Election Day. Unlike debates, which he got better at due to practice, he didn’t hold many press conferences during the campaign due to the need to eat waffles and avoid Rezko questions (after all, he answered eight questions!, remember?).

I have suggested several times that he will not enjoy as long or as deep a honeymoon as many think.

    It begins…

?All right, come on? he said, with obvious irritation in his voice. ?We will be having a press conference, at which time you can feel free to [ask] questions.

Take a cue from the military folks Mr. President. Your on duty 24/7.

You can ask questions but Obama won’t answer them. Remember, Obama is on a continuous campaign now. Fidel lasted 50 years.
At that rate Obama will be 97 in 2058. I give him at most 20 years.

If you act like a whore, they’ll treat you like a whore.

They probably think they should be canonized for helping elect the One.

welcome to the world you have helped create, reporters

i wonder how long it will take before they start missing pres. bush’s candor and humility. they’ll never admit to it, but i can see them starting to think about it pretty soon…

for their trouble by the persons they serve

  • Bourbeau

After all the press did for him in the past year? After all the media types kissed his butt from sea to shining sea? After all the glowing columns of his coolness under pressure, how he’s bringing Change to the government, the pressies are getting annoyed that it’s their turf he’s changing first? Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, I feel for the little buggers. Wake up newsboys!!! This is how the One operates – on his terms, not yours. He want’s his spin used; he want’s his photos used; he wants questions only he approves of asked and only when he’s ready. You remember this from the campaign, don’t you? Micro some popcorn, sit back and enjoy the show. We just might see the press and MSM take a second look at their Messiah, in a completely different light. Oh, just an aside on a completely different subject – we’re only hours or days away from the Senate approving the first Tax Cheat as Secretary of the Treasury – that’s change you can believe in, if you’re the media.

they assumed that Obama knew it. They also assumed that Obama was the “John” . All the while he was operating on the premise that he was their benevolent “pimp”, taking care of their needs while they did any form of bidding designed to enrich himself.

Sycophants always pay, they do not get paid, they only get a small portion of the value in the bucket of value in the whole transaction between them and their pimps. They lay down for him and he collects the overwhelming bulk of the money.

This indignation only goes to confirm whole relly foolish they are. Now some, the very few journalists that still have any concept of integrity, may move past this to reassert their rightful position. Only time will tell if this is even possible. The Obama team is so tightly controlling things that it seems only a remote possibility, especially when management has an even different view.

Obama – pimp, reporters – whores, media company managers – Johns. That is the correct order of things in this whole relationship as evidenced by ABC paying $ 1.0 million dollars for the Inaugural Day interview. Thye are only licensing the image for the profits (sexual gratification) they receive in return.

I will say at least one thing this is almost as good as the Tom Cruise episode on Southpark.

with access… as long as they report what the One wants them to report.

It’s the media version of pay to play.

  • icbm

will hasten the emergence of a second media network like foxnews

after a time, the average joe will tire of constant praise for obama and will seek other information.

for asking one question separate from the usual cloud of fluff and softballs rolled his way by the WH press retardos.
Democrats can’t take the slightest pressure. Not only are they used to a supportive media their natural aggression and uncivilized, crude ambition has a low tolerance for anything appearing as an affront.

Barack believes he is something very special, ironically in part because of his press. But the press believes they are even more special, uneducated apes that they are. So the Big O should, must learn to pay deference to his creators, a deference they fully believe is owed them.

Maybe one or two of this degenerate breed will recall the patience with which they were undeservedly treated at the Bush WH. In the meantime, let the honeymoon sink to the level of a dirty back alley cat fight, as befits the creatures involved on both sides.

  • icbm

although i am not so sure that reporters will win the battle with obama to gain his deference. i’m not so sure they have it in them.

    (nitpick: chris wallace, not hume)

  • johnt

at the press conference announcing a Supreme Court choice, { it might have been Ginsburg}. “Ah’ll nevah unnerstan” etc etc.
Tiny George Stephanapolous called ABC after to complain and I may be mistaken but I don’t think Hume ever had a chance to ask any other questions at later press conferences.
Shortly and understandably afterwards Hume jumped to Fox, where as the cognoscenti know the news doesn’t get done.

I didn’t know Clinton also jumped on Wallace, but he did have a lot to be touchy about, much as he lied to himself.

the guy is so nuts it’s scary, and until 2008 and Obama, still a hero of the left. I had forgotten about the Wallace thing, focusing on Clinton’s Presidential years.

  • Praveen

Only favored folks will get to ask questions. The access will come at a premium. We might see a bidding process. Highest bidder amongst the favored outlets gets access. Don’t be surprised if the bidding process gets online.

    That’s the Chicago style.

This cameraman still can’t believe Barack Obama became President. And then the botched oath. and then a second one. Without the Bible.

  • Tbone

treatment of the White House Press, I have taken positive and affirmative action to relieve their discomfort.

I have sent them a case of jumbo jars of Vaseline.
