McCain is raising money for his 2010 run. He’s been damn good on the stimulus issue.

On Tuesday, the 2008 Republican presidential nominee sent out a fundraising solicitation to subscribers to johnmccain.com asking for donations to his 2010 Senate re-election campaign.

Jim Gerlach (R-PA) may run for Governor in 2010:

Rep. Jim Gerlach’s (R-Pa.) possible departure from the House to run for governor in 2010 may finally be the opening that Democrats are looking for to pick up his suburban Philadelphia seat.

That’s probably not a terrible thing, though it could be a Democrat pick up. His district will probably cease to exist in 2011 after the census. Pennsylvania will lose one seat.

Labor can’t agree who to support for Rahm Emanuel’s seat:

More than a dozen Democrats will face off March 3 in the special election primary — a contest that is expected to feature low turnout. . . . State Rep. Sara Feigenholtz (D) was endorsed by the Service Employees International Union . . . . State Rep. John Fritchey, meanwhile, got the backing of the local AFL-CIO last week. . . . Along with Feigenholtz and Fritchey, Cook County Commissioner Mike Quigley and Alderman Patrick O’Connor are also considered to be top-tier candidates. The special election is scheduled for April 7; however, the March primary is expected to determine the next Member in the heavily Democratic district.

Boo-freakin’-hoo. I wonder which one has tacitly agreed to stand aside for Rahm when he wants to come back.

Peter King (R-NY) may be running for the Senate in New York and Steve King (R-IA) now is thinking of running for Governor in Iowa.

Rep. Steve King (R) is looking at a bid for governor in 2010, according to multiple local news sources. On a weekly public TV show taping this week, King said he was not sure whether he would challenge Gov. Chet Culver (D) but was looking at his options.

All eyes are now on Roy Blunt (R-MO) to run for the Senate in Missouri and Jack Kingston (R-GA) may get into the Governor’s race in Georgia.

    McCain real test will be how he does when Obama pushes his own amnesty bill.

    Which Obama will say is centerist, bipartisan bill and is in no way an amnesty bill.

    By the way when is Obama going to get around fixing NAFTA as he promised?

    A countdown clock on that one would be good.

    Definitely worth bearing in mind that it’s not as big a blow to lose a seat in 2010 that won’t exist by 2012.

    McCain is from my state and we’re (in general) very happy to have him…he votes conservative 90% of the time and we need those votes in the Senate. Keep up the good work John!
