George P. Bush Gets It Right

Amen and Amen.

“There’s some in our party that want to assume that government is the answer to all of our problems,” Bush said at a meeting of young Republicans, as reported by the Orlando News. “You know who I’m talking about,” he added, referencing Crist.

I have no doubt Charlie Crist wants to run for President of the United States. The guy would be worse than John McCain.

Multiple people tell me that Mel Martinez contemplated leaving his seat early, but Crist talked him out of it because Crist thought he’d be under too much pressure to appoint Jeb Bush to the seat.

Why doesn’t Crist like Jeb? Because Jeb is an effective conservative. Charlie Crist is not. Witness Crist going wobbly on tax increases to balance Florida’s budget. Crist is much more interested in protecting endangered animals than Florida’s tax payers.

It is incumbent on conservatives to begin now building up a great storehouse of Crist anecdotes showing how terrible he is so that he’s radioactive by 2012.

He would be wholly unacceptable as a Presidential nominee for the GOP. Crist has no principles beyond an instinct toward sticking his finger in the wind. And through his appointments within the Republican Party apparatus in Florida, he is tearing down a once very strong party.

Good on George P. Bush for standing up and telling the truth.

We should carry this headline into 2012 and club Charlie Crist like a baby seal with it: “Obama Teams With Florida Governor to Push Stimulus”.

I agree Erick. It’s really “back to the future” time for Gov. Crist.

It seems to me that Crist was in a different dimension. He thought he was in 2012 GOP primaries and was debating Bobby Jindal as his hypothetical opponent.

Didn’t Crist hear earlier that Bobby Jindal’s planning for 2011 re-election as LA Governor and intending to serve his second term as full time?

Gosh! Crist and Arnold the Terminator did so much damage to the cause of Conservatism in just few minutes of talking “gimme gimme pork” on TV. They are just like the rest of the regular Democrats. Shame!

is going to be governor or senator. I’m not sure which is worse.

However, if Crist thinks he is going to win in 2012, he’s deluded. There’s no way he is getting through Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina. He’d be flattened by the time he got to the blue state primaries. McCain was capable (for different reasons) of winning in New Hapmpshire and South Carolina and then wiping out Romney by carrying Florida, California, and New York etc. Crist lacks McCain’s base of support in either NH or SC, and he sure isn’t going to win Iowa.

And as long as red staters raise this record, Crist doesn’t have a chance. He looks like Lugar or Specter in the 96 primaries. A legend in his own mind.

Jeb is a good conservative in some respects, but if he is anywhere near as bad as his brother was on illegal immigration, I wil not support him.

was still a candidate was that he was raised by “Read my lips” Bush, who was no staunch conservative.
Turns out my fears were well founded with the largest increase in size of government to date (prescrip drug), amnesty program, TARP, etc. ad naseum.

Jeb looks like a great guy and is promoted to me as being more conservative than Daddy Bush, just as George 43 was promoted as more conservative than Dad. Turns out my fears of Geo43 were well founded and proven by time .

Once again the biggest fear I have about Jeb is that he the son of “Read my lips.” I cannot point to specific items at this time, other than say it sure bit us on the butt with the last Bush. (Hello Obama)

    Regards

On the subject of weak-kneed, ie worthless Republicans, Rush mentioned today he met with an unnamed Repub. I believe Friday after the show. Whoever it was guarantees our failure. First, the person was totally perplexed why in heaven’s name Obama would ever have mentioned Rush’s name in the first place. After Rush answered him, he then said oh, he didn’t think Obama was that calculating a person. He made one more ridiculous comment along the same lines. I don’t suggest it was anyone in the Bush family, but posted it here anyway. I recently read Jeb Bush blames Republican failures on their ‘not getting their act together about immigration’ meaning illegal immigration. I never want to hear another word from a guy scolding me about taking 30 million people who don’t know how to drive, many of whom commit crimes, are often the poorest, sickest and illiterate members of a violent crime culture, and put them and all their relatives in my house–not Jeb’s house, my house. No more Bush family. They got us in this problem.

A more conservative Republican should challenge Crist for renomination as governor, assuming he runs again next year. If he wants to run for the Senate I sure hope he is not the only GOP candidate.

It’s about the only slogan Crist can use.

What about Connie MackJr? I interned for his dad. Class act.
