Want Obama to Fail? Bobby Jindal Defended You Last Night

Fantastic! Have you heard about the speech? As CNN writes about it:

Jindal described the premise of the question — “Do you want the president to fail?” — as the “latest gotcha game” being perpetrated by Democrats against Republicans.

“Make no mistake: Anything other than an immediate and compliant, ‘Why no sir, I don’t want the president to fail,’ is treated as some sort of act of treason, civil disobedience or political obstructionism,” Jindal said at a political fundraiser attended by 1,200 people. “This is political correctness run amok.”

Jindal said his answer is, “It depends on what he is trying to do.”

Absolutely, and that is what the rest of us have been talking about.

If Barack Obama wants to save the free markets, we’d support him. But we can see thus far that Obama has no interest in saving anything — he wants to destroy the free market so he can import European style socialism into the country. More regulations, more bureaucracy, more government control, more intervention, and less freedom — that’s Barack Obama’s America.

That’s also a second class America run by a Democrat kleptocracy in Washington.

We don’t want that, which is precisely why we want Obama to fail.

Here, though, is an important corollary. We know Obama’s policies will actually fail. They will fix nothing, but will destroy much. Sadly, to Barack Obama, those failures are how he defines success. Without the destruction, he can’t change the stars on the flag yellow and change the blue field on the flag red.

When we talk about this, we must speak clearly because of the corollary. We must point out that Barack Obama has been successful in getting his economic policies through Congress and we must point out that those policies have made things worse. The public grows weary of Obama trying to escape blame and put this all off on the Bush administration. He, after all, went begging for the job. The people gave it to him and don’t appreciate his feigned “I didn’t realize it would be like this” cry. He bought it, he broke it, he owns it.

but what scares me is that socialism doesn’t always fail. Occasionally it lingers on as mediocrity and class-mobility-stasis. For an example, look at France. The rich are rich, the poor are poor, and the middle class are renting their homes and driving Fiats (also my definition of poor). Socialism has drug down the middle class in many parts of Europe, while only offering marginal healthcare benefits to the lower classes. Meanwhile the rich got richer, and the country became irrelevant. So will Obama’s socialism fail?—-I REALLY hope so!!! The worse alternative is for it to linger on as a mediocre lamed and wounded animal-to fester and stink.

Sorry, I have one quibble. We’re bypassing European style socialism and headed straight for USSR style communism. Everybody is so afraid to call it what it is.

A second observation is: I don’t want President Obama to fail. He’s just a figurehead. I want the man behind the teleprompter to fail because he is the one directing this travesty. And if the man, or woman, behind the teleprompter turns out to be a puppet, too, I want the one who is pulling the strings to be the one to fail.

President Obama may have bought into the agenda but he’s not the director of that agenda and is a president in name only.

I know the teleprompter has become something of a joke, in the media and the blogosphere, but there’s something behind the joke that isn’t the least bit funny.

Western Europe is a special case. There is something in the psyche of the Europeans that has always lent itself to the government as father and nanny. Maybe it was the years of paternalistic feudalism, Maybe it was the romanticism of the socialist movement. Maybe it was because all the risk takers left during the years of colonial migration. Maybe it was because the two world wars killed off all the good sperm. Maybe all of the above.

I just don’t see the same thing happening here, or even in Canada, nor especially in eastern Europe who have their own un fond memories of socialism.

isn’t as dangerous as the ideology he stands for. Communist and socialist ideology must be crushed!!

That Obama’s policies are the road to hell, you know there’s a huge problem.

Europe skates very close to that line between socialism and communism but never crosses over it. If they’re terrified…

Only works if you have an America in the world for them to sell the produce they make. No Capitalist America means NO European socialism, period.

Regarding the GOP’s recent setbacks at the polls, Bobby Jindal has said:

“People need to look at the history of Ronald Reagan when he lost his first attempt at the Presidency (in 1976). He didn?t go back and say, ?Let?s water down the conservatism. Let?s dilute what we?re saying. He made it even stronger…. he made it EVEN sharper. There?s a lesson there for potential candidates” “We need to be principled in our conservatism. We need to be unabashed, unafraid. We won?t always be popular with editorial writers and a lot of the members of the national media… and that?s OK. At the end of the day, it?s more important that we stick to our principles.”

Of course, the Obamaphile media already have their long knives out for Governor Jindal… in a similar approach to the one used on Palin: paint him as a wack-job, an eccentric, and just too far-right for American voters. Outfits such as the Huffington Post are already trying to nip Jindal’s ascension in the bud.

But they are right about one thing; they DO have reason to fear the electoral appeal and success of Bobby Jindal. This accomplished conservative doer is the very antithesis to the Democrat’s unaccomplished, liberal talker now in the White House.

Jindal oozes competence, and is a gifted communicator, with a trademark rapid-fire delivery. And his resume is nothing short of astounding.

Simply put, Jindal embodies a GOP ideal; America offers a chance to those who want it take it and run with it, rather than entitlement to those who simply have the “audacity” to come here and demand it.

So go get ‘em, Bobby… you’re a good man, and perhaps someday a great one-

Guess a bigger Bandwagon is in order now, and I will be happy to Drive one freshly rolling off the Production line (not saying Bobby is new to it, but his recent comments will bring others to the Bus stop to board)…. And I’m not speaking to anyone in particular with this comment, just in general….

There have been some around that were of the “Give Obama A Chance” line…. Can’t read their minds, but I will defend them to the point of saying that I do NOT believe it is a question of them wanting him to succeed in/with any Liberal agenda just that we had to allow Obama to show his stripes to the great unwashed since he at times tried to sell himself as somewhat Conservative (Tax Cuts that was False Democrat Code for Redistribution Credits, “return to Responsible Government” lines/lies, reviewing the Budget and cutting out what isn’t effective [we, of course, knew that all he meant by that was what any/every Democrat does - cut Defense], etc)…. Many real Conservatives, of course, paid attention to Obama’s PAST and knew exactly how he would be governing, and were willing to stand against it from Day One… I, for one, suffered through each and every dang Townhall, Debate, etc, that was televised – yes every one of those dull/boring Democrat shows where they tried to out-Left each other (read: Showed their true beliefs).

Those who used those lines, again didn’t want any Liberal policies to succeed, just didn’t want the direct (RS: 1/10) I want Obama to Fail (here’s why) direct language that I’d used (and have had in my Sig since before the Inauguration)… They wanted to moderate tone and language so as to not be “shut out” of some lines of communications, and IMO how they saw/see it, and a chance at reaching some folks…. I can understand, to some degree, and respect that, but (as I accused a fellow RedStater [whom I like/respect] to challenge his thinking) I think those doing so were just being dupes…. Now, I have to admit that I should have said “unwilling/unwitting dupes,” so I offer my friend (he knows who he is) an apology for that omission (he knew it wasn’t personal, just an honest question/debate of approach).

Any Republicans and/or Conservatives using the “moderated tones and/or language” will be used just as we’ve seen the MSM do with John McCain for the last dozen years… To take his “willingness to cooperate” as a Hammer to beat other Republicans and Conservatives over the head with as “Obstructionist,” “Uncooperative,” and countless other negative portrayals… We see it, of course, with the 3 Stooges (SnowJob, Spectacle, and TomCollins) on the one side to detract from the FACT that REAL BI-PARTISANSHIP has been on the VOTES/SIDE AGAINST all the Obama/Reid/Pelosi Spending and many of us have been trying to remind anyone/everyone of that – that more Democrats have come “across the aisle” to vote with Republicans against the Porkulus at every turn. The Press ignores the Facts, and reports the 3 Stooges as “Bi-Partisan” spin…. We also see the other side, so it doesn’t matter how we play it (my point, and that of many others), with those against and use the HONEST AND DIRECT TERMINOLOGY of FAIL splattered across the MSM….

Again… Nice to see more finally “getting it” …. Playing nice isn’t going to cut and just plays into the MSM spin …. which they will do regardless with either “we want him to Fail” or “we must give him a chance” stances. We may as well be HONEST and use the direct terminology and bring those willing to “understand” rather than play a game with the MSM that won’t/can’t be won!

which was why their leaders did NOT care about going further and further down the Socialist roadway, as counter to Soviet Communism, America would always come to its rescue and big the deep pockets to bail them out. Since the previous “suspension” of the Cold War some of that “certainty” wained and they (some of the Nations) have had bouts of more Conservative leaning leaders who have tried to pull them back, ever so slightly and slowly, from that brink of collapse that Socialism always brings!

Many in Europe now warn of the danger of that Socialist roadway while Obama (and Lefty cohorts) want to Drive down with reckless abandon – like riding the Autobahn, but while in a beat-up old 1960 built VW beetle barely able to be riding the side-streets. They KNOW that if the USA goes down that road that their safety-valve goes away. If the Democrats again wimp out on Foreign Affairs and continue the traditional Surrender First and Defense Cuts policies they always do, but this time it seems that policy will be on steroids, it is the Former Soviet Block countries that suffer first/most but that Europe will also be in for real tough times if left to foot for themselves.

I could, and maybe should, go on but I think I’ve made my point far/well enough and I’ll leave it here for others to expand upon if they/you choose….

We saw it during the election with Palin and now we see it with Jindal. I don’t understand what so bad about the “fail” comment. It was all the left wing crazies from MoveOn.org, MSNBC, CNN etc. that openly wanted Bush to fail so what makes this any different?

Is it because we aren’t allowed to criticze The One? Thought so. Dissent is forbidden in communist socities.

IIRC, it was on one of GC’s diaries.

I guess that means I agree with you. :-)

and the more we continue to point out the obvious, some of those sleeping folks might wake up to the Facts… And it is a shame that 95% of what is written goes unseen by most!

  • http://hillbillypolitics.com Steph C

And you’re right. 95% of what is written goes unnoticed.

I disagree with this article because you can?t say that the economy is getting worse due to Obama?s policy. Obama has not been in the White House for even a year yet and there?s all this negative feedback to his presidency. Obama didn?t promise that he was going to fix the economy immediately. It takes a long time to fix the economy especially now knowing how bad it is. Fixing the economy is going to take a lot longer than one hundred days and we should be patient and support him because it?s a lot to take on.
For Bobby Jindal it?s unethical for him to say that he hopes Obama fails. Would a surgeon say that he hopes another surgeon fails based on his method? No he wouldn?t because it?s not appropriate and mostly its not nice. So for Jindal to say that to Obama was rude and inappropriate.
