We need to get on the phone ASAP

We need to get the Blue Dog Democrats to slow down budget approval in the House of Representatives. The vote in committee is tonight.

STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING.

PICK UP THE PHONE.

CALL 202-224-3121.

Ask for one of these five Congressmen:

1. Alan Boyd of Florida

2. Bob Etheridge of North Carolina

3. Charlie Melancon of Louisiana

4. Chet Edwards of Texas

5. John Yarmuth of Kentucky

Tell them to vote no on the budget tonight. We can stop the budget if you will pick up your phone right now. The vote is tonight. See Paul Ryan in this video clip point out that Obama’s budget runs afoul of even European socialist rules:

    Lines weren’t busy, gogogo.

Representative Etheridge – my representative here in NC.

  • Swamp_Yankee

Just kidding. But you may wnat ot mention Blanche Lincoln’s pitiful poll numbers and remind them the 2010 race is a little over a year away.

  • SilverMom

The lines are backing up, slower to answer with each call. Call Now…. Thanks Erick for minding the store!
    Done.

  • Vladimir
  • Carol Tarasewicz

I called all five, two asked where I was from (MA) but said they would pass it on.

I called mine too, Ed Markey, I’m sure he doesn’t care what I think.

    Thanks Erick!

  • rosie

I called all of them – didn’t feel in the least embarrassed to say I was from their own district. No reason to call my own, here in Silicon Valley.

    BTW – operators sounded beleagured

  • Jack

I am tired of Liberals and Democrats. I am tired of them being in control and I want them defeated once and for all. If that means passing legislation that will handicap this nation for four years so be it.

Like I told some acquaintances of mine. Give you enough rope and time and liberalism will be dead in this country for ever and the Democrat party will be just references in history books.

Let them destroy it we can rebuild it. They are only destroying themselves.

  • MMAlpha

Your children will be paying the interest on this debt forever/

  • Jack

They will not have to put up with or fight liberals or Democrats while working it down. Democrats won’t change, they won’t bend, we have to defeat and destroy them once and for all.

My idea of a perfect world? Liberals meeting in secret and running from the light because the entire world hates and loathes them.

  • randy streu

How is convincing them to pass bad legislation helpful? At all?

  • Jack

You want to play politics and I am concerned about the life and death of this great nation. You keep playing politics and whining about how bad things are.

Also you know nothing of what this country was like in 1978 to 1980. We had them defeated then but we blew it. We blew it because they were tougher then us. They were smarter then us and they had more courage.

  • randy streu

“You want to play politics and I am concerned about the life and death of this great nation. ”

Asking for bad legislation for the sake of, what, ousting the other party IS NOT playing politics, how exactly?

  • GT350

While I don’t condone Jack’s approach, there is some wisdom to it.

Remember that Jimmy Carter’s bad economic & defense policies destroyed liberalism for 28 years. We had the “Reagan Democrats” among types of people who had voted Democrat for generations.

Obama is doing his best to emulate the Peanut Farmer. I agree that Obama’s policies would put the US economy into desperate shape. I also believe that earis reversible. We would have decades worth of “Jindal Democrats” voting Republican.

  • MMAlpha

I fear that the deficit will be so huge by the time any Republican is in the White House that the only way to neutralise it would involve punitive taxation. While spending can be reversed, accumulated debt and interest of this magnitude will be less manageable.

  • randy streu

another time, maybe. Right now is just NOT a good time to allow this to happen. The Dems want to saddle MY KIDS with a s__tload of debt, and I’m not okay with that. I’m certainly not going to call them up and ask them to do it.

Our economy is teetering, and this will push it farther down. Playing with it like this is NOT the correct approach.

  • Jack

Let me get this straight. I just want to make sure I understand the logic of this. We have more debt now then at anytime in our history. If we were applying for membership in the EU we would be turned down due to the debt we have now.

The grandparents of the children who will pay this off have not been born yet. The Social Security and entitlement bomb is set to go off in 4 years and you believe that voting no on a piece of legislation now will impact that.

These people have to be defeated. They have to be destroyed and here you have a chance to do it and you are worried about adding to a debt that can’t be paid off even if we shut down the government completely and did not spend another dime for the next 6 years. That is the debt now. Not with this legislation but now.

Who are the most violent and anti smoking people alive? Former smokers, and that goes for drinkers, drug addicts, and all of the rest. Former addicts to become former addicts have to reach bottom and reach it hard.

America will continue to turn to the government to solve their problems until they come to realize that the government has no answers or solutions, but more problems. Until they see liberalism at its very worse they will continue to walk to the bar and ask for another drink,

Of course if we really wanted to retire the debt we would find a way to sell off federal lands. I’d start with ANWR if I had my druthers.

“The Social Security and entitlement bomb is set to go off in 4 years and you believe that voting no on a piece of legislation now will impact that.”

voting “yes” will make it worse. Will turning down crap legislation necessarily make things better? Of course not. Don’t put words in my mouth. I never said it would necessarily change things.

But actively trying to make it worse is just stupid. It’s as stupid as voting for Obama so that we could get a good conservative in 2012. You don’t actively try to screw things up to make them better. It never works.

PS… condescension doesn’t suit you. You don’t have the credibility for it. Dig?

  • randy streu

assuming there are any companies left with capital that isn’t mostly taxpayer-funded.

  • Jack

Randy you are the answer to what is wrong with conservatism. We are just reactive. No long distance strategies, no thinking beyond tomorrow. You were here with all your genius while we got our heads handed to us.

Anymore wise thoughts from you and we will be meeting in secret places and running from the light.

You don’t seem to get it. Maybe you can’t get it or just being stupid is easier for you.

We lost the schools, we lost the media. The liberals were patient they massed their forces and sat and watched. They proposed no legislation. They just sat and waited. They got funding from labor unions and billionaires intent on the most radical agendas.

They cared nothing for legislation. They wanted power. They needed the schools to spit out sheep. They needed labor unions for muscle and for money. They never got involved in fights they could not win or in the long run come to win over time.

They let legislation get passed and then criticized it night and day even when the legislation we bipartisan. The most obvious one was the Patriot Act.

Either we develop a long term strategy or we get used to losing. Some like you sir seem to love be in the minority. Being the loyal opposition. It is easier to just say no then to lead. It is easier to just sit and be a pest.

The Democrats were smart enough to get people like you out of the way or marginalized. If you were not in for the long haul then you would be no use to them.

Don’t read Sun Tzu read Giap, or Rommel, or Franks. I am not here to win battles I am here to win a war.

  • http://moelane.com/ Moe Lane

It’s not randy’s fault that you went and lied to a Congressman about what was the best thing for him to do tonight.

  • Praveen

Realize that if you keep losing these battles you might not survive to win the war.

If Hitler was stopped when he targetted Sudetenland the world would have actually avoided a larger war….

I was reading a story to my kid yesterday… might make sense…

“You fool!” croaked the frog, “Now we shall both die! Why on earth did you do that?” The scorpion shrugged. “I could not help myself. It is my nature.” Then they both sank into the muddy waters of the swiftly flowing river.

Self destruction – “Its my Nature”, said the Scorpion…

Nice, polite girl on the phone, however, she was noncommittal. Probably
because I let her know I was from his district.
This is getting all so ridiculous. It’s going to take more than blogging to stop
this snowball backed by a zamboni machine.
I hate to be aggressive and nasty, but I am beginning to believe in the
“squeeky wheel gets the grease” applies to politics as well. I always
thought integrity and caring about the people you represent would carry us
through these challenges. I am stongly doubting it more strongly every
    day.
