By now you have probably read about Wanda Sykes’ comments at the Correspondents Dinner. It is the first time in recorded history a lesbian has stood before America’s media elite and performed oral favors on a man — and not just any man. She did so to the President of the United States. It was a Lewinsky moment without the cigar and stained dress.

Never mind that the American media elite would never dream of inviting anyone to speak at the Correspondents Dinner who supported a Republican. But the fawning hagiography to Obama continues. And it does so with some pointed remarks about Rush Limbaugh and Dick Cheney.

Did you hear the one about Barack Obama? He was in a boat with a rabbi, a pastor, and a Hindu priest. He said, “This isn’t funny. There’s no muslim here. There’s no muslim here.”

Did you hear the one about why they canceled the national day of prayer observances at the White House? Too much to do to stop and pray toward Mecca five times a day.

Do you know the difference between Barack Obama and cocaine? One gets to walk around the White House freely. The other has to be hidden in his daughter’s teddy bear. (H/t Caleb).

Do you know the difference between Barack Obama and the hijackers on 9/11? The hijackers didn’t live to cheer the World Trade Center toppling.

Outrageous, aren’t they? (keep reading)

Not really worth laughing at, are they?

Hey, how about I hope Barack Obama’s lungs fail under the strain of his smoking? No, Wanda Sykes would never say that.

But Barack Obama laughed at statements just as offensive about Rush Limbaugh and Dick Cheney. You can’t really even call them jokes. We know the lesbian comedienne started off on rocky ground about Vice President Cheney because of his first name. From there, the fact that he actually kept us safe was a real frustration for her. She, in her own way, loathes this backwardly still conservative leaning country as much as the men who hijacked those planes. And she is wiling to project her disgust and outrage onto Republicans while Barack Obama cheers her on.

If a Republican were to sit in front of the media elite and laugh about Barack Obama or Nancy Pelosi being the 20th hijacker on 9/11, it would be front page news. The media would be outraged. That is a statement of fact we all know too well.

But there is another statement of fact that we need to point out. Sykes said of Limbaugh, “He’s not saying anything differently than what Osama bin Laden is saying.” Clearly Sykes has never listened to LImbaugh because that is patently not true. But she also must not be paying attention to Barack Obama. Because while Osama Bin Laden is calling for America to be destroyed, Barack Obama is actually trying to destroy it.

That is why Rush, me, and others want Barack Obama to fail. And that is no laughing matter.

    that the media ALL voted for him except perhaps those at the FOX table but more than likely some of them as well! Wanda Sykes is a nasty piece of work she hasn’t been funny in a long time but is consistantly trying to remain relevent. It appears that old dried up comedians go onto political commentating which just goes to show that the BIGGEST JOKE in America is politics!

    Rush is a big boy.He can take a joke even if it is a very poor one.Don’t let Wanda drag you down to her level.I watched her routine.It was labored at best and I think that most of the laughter was polite nervous laughter.Even the lefties in the room could see she was tanking and stepping over the line.

    Let me ask you a question.
    Did you think the joke the CBS guy told about the soldier being in the elevator with Pelosi,Reid and Osama Bin Laden was funny?
    Come on….you know you laughed at that and see no reason why that guy should have to apologize.

    No. I’m serious. I keep hearing this but I have not heard one person actually back it up by explaining what they mean.

    Fail at what?

    Protecting the country?
    Fixing the economy?
    Ending the war?

    I’m not trying to be a dick. I just want to know what it is that people want to happen to be able to prove their point. Do they actually want people to go broke or get sick or die just to be able to say that their way would have been better?

    If you have to ask for an explanation of this concept when it has been thoroughly covered on numerous occasions. The answer is simple, as izoneguy aptly demonstrated. If Obama succeeds at what he wants to do to this country, then the country will fail. We will ALL fail.

    He has already made us less safe by his utterly feckless treatment of our enemies and allies, and by the way he has mishandled the EIT memos, as well as his bungling of the idea of prosecuting former Bush administration advisors and attornies If you keep up with the news and can’t even figure that part out, then you are being deliberately obtuse and we can’t help you.

    He was talking about wanting Obama’s POLICIES to fail. He wants Obama’s socialist ideas to fail. In that sense, he wants Obama to fail. The press has twisted or purposefully misunderstood his words to mean something different.

    And by the way, is Obama protecting the country? He’s opening up Gitmo and letting out our national secrets leaving us more vulnerable to attack. He’s buddying up to known dictators and turning his back on our allies.

    Is he fixing the economy? How exactly has the stimulus helped? We’re at 8.9% unemployment with more to come from Chrysler and GM closing factories and dealerships. The stimulus $ is going to pork spending and Acorn. How is that helping? We’re bailing companies out who fail anyway.

    Ending the war? Our soldiers are in more danger than ever because of his policies. The Taliban and Al Quida know that he’s spineless on foreign policy and couldn’t be happier. There have been so many more American deaths since he took office. Iraqi and Afgani civilians are in more danger as well. Huge cutbacks on military spending which ties the militaries hands when they have a job to do. He’s not doing his job as Commander in Chief at all.

    Ok, big breath. Sorry, gets me going!

    May of ’04 in Iraq. He was a Marine. Now her youngest and only remaining son is also a Marine and is soon to be deployed. I am heartsick for her. Bad enough to be facing that again when it already cost her one son, but having a son with a CinC like Obama would be terrifying. Obama would not honor her sons’ choices or sacrifice, nor would he lift a finger to make a deployment as well-equipped as possible to protect our troops.

    I was actually surprised this morning when reading the (NY) Daily News to see that shrill sports commentator-turned shrill political commentator Mike Lupica pointed out the hypocrisy of the media in covering the CBS reporter’s joke, (Faherty, I think is the fellow’s name), while giving Sykes a pass. Lupica, a card-carrying liberal in good standing, essentially admitted the media would have savaged a white male comedian calling a lefty pol a terrorist, but a black lesbian calling a white man an Al Qaeda member? Nah, let that one slide.

    Lupica even pointed out that Pelosi, she who was so offended by the golf reporter’s joke, seemed to find nothing offensive about Sykes’ joke. Why? Because SHE wasn’t the punchline anymore!

    We want Obama to “fail” (obviously meaning policies), because those policies are proven failures. History has shown socialism does not work. It economically drags countries down into stagnant economies. It takes away individual freedom and gives it to the government. It is destructive to the socio-economic well being of the country. OTOH, it creates a powerful government/political class, which can be called aristocracy, dictatorship or even better, try “thugacracy.”

    Actually, your last paragraph answers your own question. People will go broke, get sicker and die sooner under a socialist regime.If you don’t believe us, look at western Europe, England and Scandinavia.

    Thanks for an actual explanation, but the president has a job to do, and that’s to keep this country running smoothly and its citizens safe. Success is the measure of how well he does those things.

    If you and a rival were tasked with solving a serious problem, came up with different plans of which only one could be used, and his was chosen, would you want it to fail just because it’s not yours? Or would you want the problem solved?

    My point is that you’re suggesting that his policies are the road to failure, yet you want him to fail. It just sounds like are supporting him in the hopes of proving him wrong.

    I’m not even trying to be oppositional here and again, I’m not trying to be a jerk, but those who are using this “fail” gimmick need to consider what it sounds like from the outside.

    “For goodness sake, I hope he’s right” is the proper response. “I think he’s wrong, and I hope he proves it” sounds really dumb if it’s your own well being that’s at stake.

    For the record, I want him to succeed. I wanted Bush to succeed too.

    will be successful. It won’t and that’s what most of us know from observing the countries it’s been tried in–and has failed in. Look at Great Britain, France, Iceland, etc. They cannot afford the entitlement programs and attendant high taxes on the producing class to keep the programs going. Failing across the board is what you want for this country?

    We love America and want it to succeed as it has in the past when taxes were lower, entitlement programs were less and government was smaller. If Obama’s plans for this country succeed, America as we have known it for over 200 years will be lost, maybe forever. So, yes, we want his plans for this country to fail. He does not love America, nor does he wish for her to succeed as a free market, capitalistic, democratic republic.

    He wants another Venezuela. You on board with that, are you?

    * Obama campaigned (as did all the Lefty-loons) on immediate withdrawal from Iraq (abandoning not just the Kurds and Shi’ites this time, but the Suni’s too) and letting the Terrorists move right back in….
    HE FAILED TO DO THAT…
    In fact he has adopted the Bush “Return On Success” and that is a success for the U.S. (United States interests) and our Iraqi allies. They don’t/wont’, of course, call it the same thing but is abiding by the Iraqi SOFA (TV next?) and going to keep about 50,000 Troops behind for the foreseeable future. Win the War, and Protect the Peace! American Success!

    * Obama insisted that the Military Tribunals would end and we would just treat the Enemies of our Nation (Enemy Combatant Detainees) as if they were just common Chicago criminals (let them off the hook, like Democrats always do)….
    HE IS NOW FAILING TO DO THAT….
    In fact the Oblahblah administration is finally admitting the need for the Military Tribunals, but (of course) promises there will be some changes (in other words, they will change the “words” associated with it, like they RETREATED from the GWOT term and the like)

    Now if we can only get him to FAIL in his desire to repeat history (as Democrats always do) in enacting the Surrender Doctrine (Democrats ALWAYS cut/weaken U.S.Defense), their never grasping or attempting to look at and avoid any unintended consequences (Democrats always ignore), harming Allies while promising to cozy up to Enemies (Iran, NoKo, Cuba, etc) worse than any Democrat has done before him (see: Loose Lips Sink Ships [Feinstein Torpedoes Pakistan]), etc….

    No doubt more examples can be thought of how Obama had promised and going to do one thing and is FAILING TO DO IT, which is a plus/win for the United States by his FAILURE to do so!!!!!!

    I still don’t expect the Left to get it…. but there may be some hope for some Independents. They must have these points demonstrated.

    You have a list of jokes about Obama – the implication being that they are on the same level as what Wanda Sykes said, but the media people would never laugh at them, instead considering them over the line. One of the jokes is this:

    This joke is (basically the same as) one you said here a few days ago on Nat’l Prayer Day (link).

    So either this joke is “beyond the pale” or it isn’t. If it isn’t beyond the pale, then I don’t get what you are getting at, as it would seem that you are then saying that what Wanda Sykes said isn’t beyond the pale. If it is beyond the pale, then you are guilty of the same thing she is guilty of. So what exactly is your argument, or am I missing something?

    I reread what I wrote and ‘meme’ response several times. She/he made no sense to me, and I am smarter than she/he wanted to give me credit for. How hard is it for them to understand that if Obama succeeds in enacting his Socialist agenda, it is destructive for a country-especially one like ours.

    My opinion of course. I do not want to have a dummied down society, a large underclass with underachievers because everything is given to them, a nanny state of a government thinking they should tell us how to do or say every little thing and a dictatorship for a government.

    I quite distinctly recall prior to last year the jokes made by the President Bush being about his adminsitration and they were quite hilarious. This year, 0bama jokes seem to be about other people or his Kingship rather than his flaws.

Whereupon I crawl his hide and point out to him that he’s not going to waste my time that way. When he understands something I’m telling him, by God he’d better not ask me again or I’ll tear his head off and spit in his neck.

    I wish Meme was here right now. I’d either make him give me a quivering apology or I’d make him sorry he’d ever poked his stupid little head up. He knew from the very first exactly what was meant by that and there were plenty of people who explained it succinctly. He is just playing games with us.

    He was going to repeal the Bush tax cuts and so far…fail. Now he’s just going to let them expire.

    He was going to close Gitmo and so far…fail. He hasn’t figured out what to do with those guys so they’re all still locked up. And he’s adding to their numbers at Bagram as well.

    I’m sure there’s more failures. Just not enough to keep us from facing $2 trillion deficits, ballooning unemployment, rising fuel prices, looming inflation, etc. We just need him to fail more often lest our economy collapse.

    amazing isn’t it? This is one of those situations where it is actually beneficial. I’ve been hoping that real serious discussion of TREASON could take place. Now that they want to throw it around, let’s have that examination. Shall we? Hopefully the MSM doesn’t sweep this one under the carpet – as it would be good to get the average American to wake up and have that term on the tip of their tongue. As for any irritating little twits such as this, I have no patience with them anymore at all. I’m not convinced either way whether he was lying or meant his campaign BS in this regard (I lean toward him being generally Lefty-brainwashed and believing they/he should pull out immediately regardless of the consequences – unintended consequences Democrats never fully consider their actions – and part of the Surrender Doctrine [Democrats ALWAYS cut/weaken U.S.Defense]). Regardless, he was forced to pull back from his pathetic position of going to Snatch Defeat From The Jaws Of Victory, in part because of the Iraqi SOFA (TV next?).

    First, Rush certainly does NOT need us to defend him. The “hope his Liver Fails” was in very poor taste and just a personal attack more than humor, of course. Worse, was the 9/11 jokes that are in very poor taste and just demonstrate how the Left still doesn’t get… well, doesn’t get ANYTHING… but I have and can laugh at bad and even bad-taste jokes at times (though I am generally upset with myself for doing so later, even if the poor-taste humor is at the expense of a Liberal)….

    HOWEVER…. We know that this had little to do with humor. Comedians sometimes push the bounds, on purpose, to make a point – and that is exactly what she did (some on our side say over-the-top things to over-emphasis a point with a touch of humor too). Sykes choose these words NOT to be funny (though, of course, how she couched them and as a Comedian placed them where she would get laughs out of knowing the audience she had) but instead was simply done to make a Political statement and used the opportunity to DISTORT the “How Obama’s FAILURES are the country’s SUCCESSES – since we have to spell it out” message. Nothing more or less! The MSM will use this as yet another opportunity to distort/spin that to the great-unwashed in America.

    Of course, we are expected to have a sense of humor about ourselves – and we should indeed — The Left, however, HAS ZERO SENSE OF HUMOR if it has anything to do with them and/or their sacred-cows, and it always shows their usual lack of tolerance.

    The Left’s lack of any ability to laugh at themselves, because they can’t objectively examine themselves (or objectively with REASONED THOUGHT examine anything really).

    I am so very proud that the DailyKooks quoted me in their Tuesday Jan 06 “Words Of Wisdom” (rightfully so, IMO, my words – poke at their Messiah complex – are wise ;-) ): here (about the middle of the page).

    And then here (about 3/4 of the way down) they quote me about the Liberals use of ACORN and the strategy of LATE-VOTING Early- (and the new Late-) Voting trends (as I coin it – Liberal areas finding reasons/excuses to keep polls open late, holding returns to see how many of those illegal votes they need to throw in, post-election [like MN] vote manipulation, etc…), Voting Psychology (Bandwagon and other effects), MSM bias, etc…. They, of course, leave out the important details…..

    My point is that what we say here at RedState is making traction, and they have to poke fun at it/us – but, again, and of course, never themselves!!!!

    Keep up the good work RedStaters – people are watching and they will GET IT eventually, once they wake up and have some coffee.
