they better start updating their resumes, because they are toast.

  • radioone

Just call his office in DC, and they said he will vote against Cap and Tax…

  • Swamp_Yankee

Game on. GOP was late. Hopefully not too late.

  • amigag

I have been calling for over 3 hours, Ehler’s office connects to voice mail for your comment, Frelinghuysen-Undecided, Gerlach-hung up on me!, Johnson- still reading it, Kirk-Undecided This is my first time posting here, so bear with me. I have been reading Redstate for a long time. Will post my results for others on the other threads.

but I gave it a shot and called Gerlach (I’m in PA, maybe he won’t notice i’m not his constituent). Got an answering machine. Please leave your message and it will be passed on.

    1. What the hell is wrong with this country that this many REPUBLICANS – even liberal ones – are considering voting aye on the biggest tax increase in history.

    2. It’s getting increasingly difficult to think any of these people give a crap about what we think or how many of us call. I know the 2010 elections will be consequential but they are either in massive denial or are sadistic miscreants pulling a Sandra Day O’Conner.

  • DONTREADONME

priorities in line. I have contacted the people in VA that will listen to me, heck, I even called Gerry Connolly (D) office. Yeah, that didn’t go well.

SEC. 128. TEMPORARY VEHICLE TRADE-IN PROGRAM.
    17 (a) ESTABLISHMENT.?

Anway, when Rush said their is dispiriting of Americans, this is just another example of what I fear is the destruction. I really hope I will be surpised when this thing is killed, but alas I think we are in for this Acts control and destruction.

I have gotten about 120 pages into this, the Government is becoming a virus or cancer, take your pick. Depressing.

If someone is on the fence, its obvious they have fallen for some kind of climate change garbage. These people are Dems.

Of the people I talked to, the aids seem most receptive to the argument that now is just not the time. The economy is in shambles and we need to bolster business and jobs. In other words, it the economy.

If you are reaching out to Dems, a conservative rant isn’t going to do much good. These people are firm in their own convictions about the environment.

They key is talking about giving the economy a chance to gain momnetum.

… in exposing Liberals only concern for Teachers Unions and not the Education of Children…

DONTREADONME: “You can get vouchers for cars but not for schools”

I dare say the is SigLine quote worthy!

  • izoneguy

They can believe what they want to believe, even if it is wrong. Go look at the ones up for re-election in 2010. If they vote for Cap & Trade they will get beat. Voting for anymore Obama programs will be a zero sum game. Obama will crater and liberal politicians will be scrambling from the sink hole.

sorry.. “Jeff Fortenberry” name sounds like a Foxworthy joke setup ;-) lol

and as everyone knows, I can’t pass sharing the lame humor.

  • DONTREADONME

the vote on Friday. Believe me, when I read that in the bill I said “WHAT” you are giving 3000-5000 dollar vouchers for a car when that would go a long way to paying for a private school. Good God, where are our priorities?

  • http://www.examiner.com/x-1597-Charlotte-Law--Politics-Examiner Mike gamecock DeVine

    we can’t let that happen

  • izoneguy

If they vote YES on Cap & Trade they are going down….

  • eburke

there *is* not big tent. There’s much talk on this site about ‘purging the party’ and not understanding that everyone has to represent their district ’cause it’s blue/purple/red/green/chartruse.

But as far as I’m concerned, this is one of those ‘line in the sand’ issues where the GOP leadership needs to go to its/our members and say “if you bail on this, you will get zip, zero, nada in help and support in the next election cycle.

That’s the kind of hardball the Dems play which is why you’ll see the leadership let the ‘Blue Dogs’ be blue if the issue ain’t that big a deal, or their vote ain’t necessary to get a V, but I guarandamntee you that they will yank their chains on this one till the cows come home if they need their vote to get it over the top.

We need to do the same to our folks. No big tent, folks. Not on this one!

  • Wayne

made up. After all, he’s the only “scientist” in the house. He’s bought into Algore’s nonsense since he began spouting it. He won’t even acknowledge that there is no concensus on AGW, or “climate change”. And, it’s doubtful he’d even get challenged in a primary. The only way he won’t be back next term is if he retires.

  • Socrates

He’s a pro-business ag guy, but fancies himself an environmentalist. If your reps are like him, be sure to stress that the cap’n'tax scheme won’t affect the climate, but will destroy the economy.

  • kimsch

Melissa Bean (IL-8) by phone and by email to tell her to vote NO on this bill.

There is no green district unless by that you favor lowering the stnadard of living of all and killing the American dream for most

Do NOT fall for the “call only if I’m your congressman ploy”

Kirk is contemplating statewide office, senator or governor.

    Call Call Call!

I’ve not been able to get through to any of these lines!! They’re all busy! Hopefully that’s a good sign. I did call my local congressman, however, and he is voting NO. We’ll see. I’m gonna be checking up on that.

  • louisiana

Rep. Melancon/Cao’s office yesterday. Just tried to call, got a busy
signal at both offices–I truly hope that’s because people are calling them
to vote no. Don’t know how much influence I have because I’m
not a constituent of either. Melancon/ Cao are both from south LA.
I did contact friends who live around N.O. Oil industries are big
employers in their districts– I can only hope!

  • rmullins

Even though I’m not a constituent of either anymore(Live in a solid Rep. Distrist), my parents do live in the Present TX-23(post 2006) and in TX-28 before that.

  • rocketeer

Told the nice lady that this bill would add $3000 a year and do nothing for us. And that since I live in Wheaton, and that Mark is running for higher office soon, that I’d remember his vote.

Got right through on the 2nd try to the number listed above.

  • jimc1969

NJ is a DARK BLUE state admittitly, but Rodney Frelinghuysen is in a VERY SOLID GOP district.
I wish we could take him out in a primary. Just the fact that hes considering this massive tax hike/ special interest give-away is a disgrace………
If he votes YES on this I will really harrass the club 4 growth ( and any one else who will listen ) about recruiting a convervative alternative to this guy.

  • mackbolan

When I saw Mark Kirk’s name I thought it had to be a mistake. I totally respected this guy and thought there was no way.

He posted a YouTube video of himself saying he was reading through the night to read the whole bill.

    1) BS if he says he can read a 1000+ page piece of legislation in one night. Especially with 300+ pages being dropped in at 3a.m. It’s not like he’s reading some magnificent novel, it’s a frigging bill!
2)If he did read the whole thing and then decided to vote for it I have to seriously question his calling himself a conservative.

Kirk is a Navy guy and has been on the radio as a guest frequently here in Chicago. I have never heard anything in all that time that would lead me to believe he could vote for this type of legislation. I’m not a conspiracy buff but I’ve got to wonder what arm twisting, blackmailing or back room bargaining went on to get him to vote this way. The only thing I can imagine is some connection with Rahm Emanuel and Obama being from Chicago. With their connections to Chicago politics I can only speculate that they found something they could leverage against him. It was no secret that Rahm was working the phones and I’m thinking not all of the calls were warm and fuzzy.

Or perhaps this was something Kirk thought he needed to do in order to have a chance in the next election in his district. We all saw how well that kind of thinking worked out for McCain.

Either way, again I say “Mark, you are a total let down and I hope it was worth it for you to sell out the American taxpayer.”
