Yes, you gotta love the fact that he truly believes that a law will require the free market to "dictate how to lower harmful emissions." No sir, Sen. Nelson, it does not. And a significant way they will lower harmful emissions is to LEAVE THE COUNTRY. If the libs could ever come to grips with the law of unintended consequences (for good examples, see Atlas Shrugged: "don't blame me. I could never have known that..."), and if they would read Sowell's Applied Economics: Thinking Beyond Stage One, they might start making some sense. But that word "thinking" keeps coming up, and we know that they don't practice that (they might get too warm). Nelson is truly worthless. Even Crist would be a gain over him.

this from Bill Nelson to regarding Crap & Tax:

I am interested in cap-and-trade programs because they would let the market, not the government, dictate how to lower harmful emissions. I believe that we have the technology and ability to meet the challenge of climate change in a way that will provide new economic opportunities and make us more competitive internationally while protecting consumers from high energy prices and breaking our dependence on oil.

Global warming threatens Florida's fragile ecosystem and $56 billion tourism industry. Rising sea levels will encroach on Florida's pristine beaches and harm coastal wetlands and the Everglades. Increased carbon dioxide and water temperatures will damage sensitive coral reefs and endanger Florida's diverse marine species. A scientific study by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change concluded with 90 percent certainty that global warming is caused by the accumulation of man-made greenhouse gasses.

On June 26, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 2454, the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009. The Senate is expected to consider legislation to address energy independence and climate change in the fall.

I will continue to work in the Senate to fight the effects of global warming. I appreciate your taking the time to share your thoughts with me, and I respect your views. Please feel free to regarding any additional issues of concern.

You will notice from his remark about "rising oceans...harming the Everglades" he is a full on-board believer in Al Gores claim that the oceans will rise 20' (only way they can reach the Everglades).

The reality is that Bill Nelson has never had an original thought float through his brain. If it were not for the puppet strings racks controlling him, you would think he is dead. Wrack him up as a true Cap & Traitor.

We will have to excuse him though. He will not read the bill, not because he does not have the time, because he cannot understand written thought.

But I think that there are more "huge" liars out there.... not just these 3 lying stoogies.

I lost my respect of Crist a long long time ago. Shame on him!

Last week this was related on a Tampa newstalk station (within its news break as a news item, not during a talk segment). They said only slightly more than half Florida students finish high school on time. In any case, this is a national crisis (may be true in other states). There should be PSA's running every hour to bring attention to this. I'm now hearing Obama spots on radio to join one of his Acorn groups (only he calls it something else). The point is, every Acorn member Charlie Crist knows should be volunteering to monitor kids' homework, make sure they get to school, etc.

gloabal warming kool-aid drinking, treehugger pandering cap & traitor who, if given the opportunity to vote yest on that piece of swill to cement taking over the position of Obama's favorite Republican from Schwarzenegger.

All politicians that think I should transfer a great portion of the wealth of the US to Europe, China and India because we are to blame for changes in the weather....is dead to me. Marco gets my money and my vote. Further, I am not going to talk about supporting Crist in the Primary. I aim to see he does not win it. (REC Member and pending Precinct Committeeman)

Dear Senator Cornyn, butt out, we can manage our own primaries here in the State of Florida. You might want to turn your attentions to finding someone to replace Arlen SPECTRE that is not a clone of that squish who also believes in bad science (bullets turning sideways and all) .

but I think you know that I'm only asking that your phrasing be a little nicer.... I know, sounds silly perhaps, but I'm sure we could start a list of past Races where we beat up our own Candidates so bad it hurt the General ... gee, the last Presidential race kinda fits a bit :(

Yes, yes... granted.... very good question and I've been begging someone to help us with that:
Conservative Candidates (the Diary),
Blago.
using Primaries to build up future candidates,
and not to underestimate How electing ANY Democrat empowers the antithesis of Conservativism, the Ultra-Far-Left Progressive/Socialist/Democrats

Let me twist your last comment back at you that isn't Crist, with all his failings (again, sure not my favorite nor first choice, but he was okay as AG then Gov and now all of a sudden this venom), will he not be better on a good percentage of GOP (still Conservative) Platform stands/issues.

We share the same concern/fear about him being closer to RINO than RED-DOG (Red-Dogs, RINOs, CINOs, DINOs, PLINOs, and Blue-Dogs, oh my... The Political Zoo - what/who are they?) but it is my belief if we keep those communication lines open, watch our tone while still working to get Rubio as the General Candidate (while, again, admittedly I'm not convinced he can pull off the General), blah, blah, blah... You know what I mean.... We do more to create a self-fulfilling RINO prophecy by beating the crap out of him rather than going the "Rubio is our First Choice, but we can/will work with Crist" route.

We need a CIVIL Primary (Reagans 11th mention/section in be respectful (the Diary)) so as to not beat the crap out of both and make them both worthless.

Burris replacement... We both so want to see that happen OBVIOUSLY... I think IL is still gonna be Style Over Substance in 2010 while others will hopefully be long over it... Hence, again begging for IL to step up, the need for a Name above the frey and possibly a non-politician. (the Blaga saga, plus the Senate seat discussion amidst other)

Again, though, How electing ANY Democrat empowers the antithesis of Conservativism, the Ultra-Far-Left Progressive/Socialist/Democrats -- as much as we'd rather not have to SETTLE!!! But you are willing to do that with Kirk, and as implied in these posts by "policy" if Crist is the General Candidate (yet you go just a bit far, for my liking, and potentially harm him) you would "come around."

anyway... tired now and thoughts running together so I'm gonna take a break. Thanks for engaging in the Conversation. I really don't see us as that far apart, just all in how far we are willing to go "at the other guy".

Oh, lastly, as per the other Diary, we do not agree with lumping the NRCC together with the NRSC and RNC in general... I agree with others in boycotting them all:
Daily Dimes Dichotomy - creating an NRSC: Daily Dimes Dichotomy
RNC called - RNC called, I hung up!
Until/unless as the Elections near and they have demonstrated they will use our Cash for the RIGHT ADS and fights. But again, we at RedState will NOT all agree on what those "Right" fights might be - all the reason again to stick with direct donations to Conservative Candidates and Conservative 527's IMO.

The Kirk "Good" Diary.... If it wasn't your diary, you know people would be loading it up with DON'T SUPPORT ANY RINO posts ;-) lol

and not to underestimate How electing ANY Democrat empowers the antithesis of Conservativism, the Ultra-Far-Left Progressive/Socialist/Democrats

Let me twist your last comment back at you that isn’t Crist, with all his failings (again, sure not my favorite nor first choice, but he was okay as AG then Gov and now all of a sudden this venom), will he not be better on a good percentage of GOP (still Conservative) Platform stands/issues.

We share the same concern/fear about him being closer to RINO than RED-DOG (Red-Dogs, RINOs, CINOs, DINOs, PLINOs, and Blue-Dogs, oh my… The Political Zoo - what/who are they?) but it is my belief if we keep those communication lines open, watch our tone while still working to get Rubio as the General Candidate (while, again, admittedly I’m not convinced he can pull off the General), blah, blah, blah… You know what I mean…. We do more to create a self-fulfilling RINO prophecy by beating the crap out of him rather than going the “Rubio is our First Choice, but we can/will work with Crist” route.

We need a CIVIL Primary (Reagans 11th mention/section in be respectful (the Diary)) so as to not beat the crap out of both and make them both worthless.

Burris replacement… We both so want to see that happen OBVIOUSLY… I think IL is still gonna be Style Over Substance in 2010 while others will hopefully be long over it… Hence, again begging for IL to step up, the need for a Name above the frey and possibly a non-politician.
AFAIK, Kirk hasn't officially announced for Senate yet, has he?
(In fact, has *any* IL Republican declared?...)

If Kirk's not officially in, we don't have to support him before the fact.

And if someone who's more conservative than Kirk gets into that race, we ought to look very, very seriously at him...

The way things were set up: Martinez (who "believes in global warming", his word: "believe") would step down, succeeded by Rubio. Meanwhile, Crist (Mr. Florida Global Warming) keeps Governor's Mansion in GOP in 2010, so that Census results and resulting districting changes made with GOP leadership. Senator "I never take a stand on anything but co-sponsor a lot of resolutions" Nelson gets challenged by Crist when Nelson is up for re-election. (Nelson co-sponsored Ted Kennedy's Service America Bill. I read some of it and just shook my head at the excrement.)

Unfortunately, Crist got greedy (and likely a bit full of himself after handpicking McCain last year) and has caused the whole set of elections screwed up for 2010. People in good positions now have to try to move up before their time (McCollum for governor, and others too) and thus, the scramble is on. The governorship is up for grabs, and it needn't be that way, and Crist is not a shoo-in for Senator.

And yes, Crist has not been a conservative. His dominance over the Florida GOP (with buddy Greer) really upsets local folks. The lesson: do not elect simple law-and-order Attorneys General to be Governor. There was another one recently...by the name of Spitzer. It is better to get someone who has made public opinions on legislative issues, and has had to live with those opinions.

On item 1 I think I confused something, the only thought/point I mention the potential link between the Donation Link and this site is that it somehow indicates the money is coming from someone re-directing from RedState so they know it is coming from someone here. Or was that implication I got from someone else untrue?

I have ZERO problem with #2 as it is generally my position, and as you have seen I have endorsed people supporting Rubio -- I just think the tone beats up on Crist (doing the Democrats work) and slams the door on the working-together. I will make no apology for the "opinion" that I think Rubio may not be able to have enough to take the General - so I'm willing to entertain the "exception" on/of my support.

The "Taxes thing" - I just want an honest portrayel that many FL Republicans dealt with Democrats to come up with that package that Crist, did indeed, NOT Veto and therefore went along with. It again goes to how we choose to excuse some States' leaders in raising Cig-taxes (and what not) while not others.... I don't expect him to have a FREE PASS on it. Past Tax restructuring has been completely, conveniently, (again, not exactly his plan but his involvement) overlooked on the Property Tax issues. Crist and taxes [includes press-links]

I do NOT want either sides' supporters beating up the other and producing a give-away to the Democrats, as also discussed in your "Good" titled Diary.

Thanks for responding.

I don't think you can read me as "excusing" Mark Kirk. His vote was unacceptable. But show me a viable alternative to him.

Is he not objectively better than Roland Burris? Of course he is. If a conservative gets in who I think can win, I'll support him over Kirk, but that person does not exist right now.

1. I didn't set up or have anything to do with the Rubio contribution form. That's the campaign.

2. RedState and I both maintain an editorial position of supporting conservatives in primaries and Republicans in general elections. But were Crist the nominee, he'd lose even if we did all we could to support him.

If he comes out in support of Rubio, than Rubio will win. Bush has better favorable than Crist does statewide (despite not being a "moderate") and will help give Rubio good name recognition where he doesn't have it.

Rubio also creamed Crist in a Pasco county straw poll, 73 to 9. Pasco is significant, as it's leaders endorsed Crist early in the 2006 primary, and the governor himself once called the county "My Backyard" (he is from a neighboring county)
