I've seen some speculation that Crist would have a better change of getting elected if he were to change his bid to Independent. Can he do what Lieberman did and change to Indie after losing in the Republican Primary or is there a "sore loser" law in Florida?

While Daily Kos would probably scream (it appears they actually like Meeks), could Crist survive if he were to actually cross the Aisle and run as a Democrat?

Would information indicating that Crist had actually been in the closet more likely to come out in a primary or the general?

If the open primary is codified in state law, the party may have to sue but the USSC has held on 1st Am. grounds that the party gets to determine who can act to choose its candidates.

but who has the power to decide whether or not the state holds open or Closed Primaries? I remember John Warner won the Republican primary in Virginia in 2002 by changing the rules to make it open, allowing "independents" to vote for him, and seeing as Crist is a sitting governor, it might be in his power to change the primary rules in his favor.

That Rubio would shift this seat to the right. We aren't just battling to keep control, we are battling to make the GOP caucus more conservative in the aggregate. We need Rubio!

but its the best I can manage at the moment. I'll try to make sure I send him my pitance at least once a quarter until the election. Well, the pitance + 2 cents.

send out an email to your buds. Give them a chance to make a difference. do it quick. Midnight is coming!
Mine runs thus:

<blockquote>

You can help decide if the next Senator from Florida is a conservative or a squish.

Hear what Jim DeMint had to say about Rubio:

...meaning they want to get him early, in the primary, for fear he will later become a compelling national figure and show that you do not have to be a white male to be conservative or Rebublican. Hence, the unusual interest in this primary I have seen in national news and left-wing publications and blogs.

If you are as tired as I am of the powers-that-be shooting down any non-white or female conservative as soon as (or even before) they reach prominence, then turning around and crowing about what a "white male party" we are, then please send Rubio some dough.

Just one question and I think Art Chance might be best to answer this.

When Mr. Rubio is about to pass Governor Crist, can he bump-draft the Governor and send him to the garage ?

;)

Cheers !
