The article is referring to a British soldier pulling his own teeth. Nobody said anything about Canada's dental program. I would say your comment followed the "ready shoot aim" logic you tried to deride Erick for using.

The only way to get free dental in Canada is to be on welfare. Most people get it through work as a benefit, but it's a user-pay system, with a co-pay on the back end. That's why we have great teeth but bad knees, because those take a year to get under socialized medicine.

Sadly, like most socially fashionable conservatives, you follow the "ready shoot aim" logic.

<a href="http://www.cirp.org/pages/restore.html">...this.</a>

I looked at the pictures once, very long ago. IIRC, the technique involves treble hooks, lots of weights and plenty of duct tape.

try National Heathcare for 5 years no more foney fraudulent Cadilac Care that the TAXPAYERS/VOTERS pay for with their overpriced salaies and benefits.
If is works after 5 years then we then all Senators and congressman, government employees will try it for 5 years and if it works then the rest of peons will try it for 5 years and then have a National vote whether to accept it.

Now that Caleeeeeeefornia is writing IOU, i think with the incompetent Senators and Congressman we have I will send then an IOU to pay for my Healthcare if they pass it..

"Additionally, we know that some employers will shut down their private plans to save money."

SOME? More like ALL.

Some folks who live in border cities like El Paso already know that cities like Juarez offer some fairly decent alternatives for vision, dental care, and presriptions. About 6 or 7 years ago I got an RX in a Mexican clinic for contact lenses for about $20. Just like the Canadians coming to the US for health care, I predict a future where Americans will be going to see the doc in Mexico.

I can tell yuo that this is not an ilosated incident. I went for over five years with out a dentist ( 96 -02 ) for the same reason as Mr Boynton, it was not until I married the wife and got coverage through her jod that Iwas finaly able to get my teeth looked at.
As for the NHS, well lets just say that I have a ......(site rules) opinion of it. Yes I will conceed that everyone in the UK can see a Doctor if you can find one, but after that first visit you just WAIT and then Wait some more, if you need to see a specialist, period (Unless you are part of the political class, in which case you just hop on a plane and come across the pond to see the world best here in the States).
My mother trusted the NHS and believed that it would look after her if she fell ill, well she did, Cancer, and she had to wait and wait some more and this was in the early ninties when the waiting list were not as bad as they are now, and well the WAIT killed her. Now my older Sister is now going through the same thing as our mother did and guiess what she's on a waiting list, and I fear for her long term survival, as cancer doesn't WAIT, it just keeps on growing, period. This all means that the Healthcare debate is very personal to me and I can tell you that the system that opperates here in the US is sooo much better than the NHS or any other government run healthcare I have experienced (New Zealand).
As a side note, after we as a family found out that my mother was termial, my old man, activated an insurance policy that BAe, his employer, had for their employees and families which would help cover those end of life expense. Well the concultent in charge of my mother case REFUSED to sign the documents, cliaming he diidn't believe in these kinmds of policies, until the old man got our local MP involed.
