Liz Cheney: “America needs a Commander in Chief, not a Global Community Organizer”

Liz Cheney spoke at the RedState Gathering. Among her memorable points:

“At his last press conference we learned the President does not care for either pediatricians or policemen.”

Then there was this: “America needs a Commander in Chief, not a Global Community Organizer.” For the context on this line, see the video:

Woah, such a smart woman. I would love to see her run for President.

elected in ’10 first. But she certainly could be a contender.

I have not done the research, but where does Ms. Cheney call home, where does she vote?

Representative Cheney, Senator Cheney sounds awful good to me as a starting point in her voyage to the top of the heap.

I’m pleased she’s beginning to appear in public more often. She certainly seems to look like a very viable candidate. If she’s half as smart as her father, she’ll be great. And who knows, maybe she’ll be even better.

that it would be the same as Phillip…

If that’s the case, then McLean, Virginia.

Frank Wolf, of the Virginia 10th Congressional District.

But he’s a 30-year veteran, so it’s possible he might retire soon and give her a chance to run.

    She’d make a good Senator.

I looked at districts and got confused then, thought she lived in VA 8th.

But yes, perhaps Wolf will decide to hang it up, or maybe a run for Senator. She is one heck of a powerful speaker on the national security policy issues which attracts me to her, if she’s also a tightwad fiscal conservative….BONUS.

proving himself to be a relentless a thorn in Holder’s backside.

That’s a good link with some good info.

Congressman Wolf is 70, not sure how long he will want to stay in office and I read that Liz Cheney has five children so I’d guess she is probably pretty busy with them, at least for a while.

As one of the powerful voices on the R side on national security, she’s GREAT! I hope she keeps talking and giving speeches, writing and helping her Dad with his book as she finds the time to stay in the arena. She’s really part of a new generation of conservative thinkers.

Frank’s my rep as well. He’s solid and I hope he stays as long as possible.

With anyone. Bring it on, Liz. We need you.

I enjoyed all of the speakers Saturday and want to thank Erick for hosting this event. In my notes I wrote Ms. Cheney’s actual quote as “not a global community organizer”. Was I mistaken? Small but significant difference unless I wrote incorrectly.

As Liz implies, Obama’s strategy for foreign policy relies on his banking on an “above it all” persona to arbitrate between the nations; a policy with arguable short-term gains (by “arguable”, I mean, no) and disasterous long-term effects. Wish I’d been there :(

I know there may be better quality video clips to be posted, but I thought some of you might want to watch what I shot with my FlipVideo recorder. I tried to cutaway during the applause (YouTube limits free uploads to clips under ten minutes in length). Enjoy!

(HotAir and Politico already found these clips and posted them on their sites.)

    Thank you.
