Bus Loads of Obamacare Supporters

This is must see video from New Hampshire worth sharing.

Here’s the gist — in New Hampshire, where Barack Obama showed up, local residents stood in the rain to protest Obamacare.

Barack Obama’s team bussed in the people to attend the rally and also bussed in the counter protestors.

All on tape.

Consider this an open thread.

    No astroturfing here!

  • blooch

at the interior of these buses. We’ll show you the undercarriage later.

  • sacody

If this isn’t astroturf, I don’t know what is:

that the reporterette tossed out that little tidbit of information in the most mundane of fashion, never bothering, based on all the charges of ‘astroturfing’ from the Dems, to dwell on the incongruity of ‘busloads of supporters’ arriving at the event.

Somewhere in journalism school, I do believe they remove the ‘reasoning’ and ‘critical thinking’ genes from these people.

  • janis

with little “brain links” that connect the “journalist” directly to DNC talking points whenever they are confronted with conflicting information situations.

Plus it’s a little known fact that the more products you use on your hair, the more these little “brain links” mulitiply. So if you’ll make note of it, the older a reporter gets and the more his/her hair stays put in hurricane-force winds, the less sense they make.

I keep seeing a bunch of people on the left posting and asking questions of seniors at the rally along the lines of “do you participate in Medicare?”

I am sad to see that so many seem to be flummoxed by this question.

It is a simple 2 part answer.

    1) You paid for it through exorbinant taxes all of your working life, and since you have paid for it, you would be an idiot not to accept it when you qualify.

If you were to not accept it, that would be a foolhardy purely ideological move, akin to someone on the left voluntarily overpaying on their taxes because they think the government should have a larger share of their wages.

    2) Medicare can only exist piggy-backing on private health insurance. It could not offer nearly the level of service it does, were it not for the significnatly higher fees the doctors and hospitals receive form people who pay anything closer ot the list price.

If the government were to strong arm doctors for an even larger share of their patients the way they do for medicaid, doctors woudl dry up…no one would get into that game.

I live in a country with a public and private system (Germany) and this dearth of doctors is exactly what has happened here over the past 20 years. Wage arbitrage with eastern european doctors moving in to fill some voids has made the situation bearable,a dn the private patients keep some talent in the country, but otherwise they would be doomed.

It might also make sense to bring up any supplemental insurance you might have on top of Medicare, as most seniors of any means do – to bring the substandard care up to the level you are looking for.

So, if one of those left wing loons comes at you with, “you are on government health care!”

Then just ask them if they currently overpay their taxes voluntarily?

sense as they get older is not going to be easy.

Others may have their own personal favorite deranged reporter, but Dan pretty much holds the record in my book.

You HAVE TO apply to Medicare in order to get the social security you paid into you whole life.

Lefty bloggers conveniently leave that little bit of information out, of course.

I read Camille Paglia’s piece in Salon today if only b/c I was intrigued by the title “Obama’s Healthcare Horror” So even Salon (or at least some there) are beginning to jump ship. But I did get a kick out of this quote:

“As a libertarian and refugee from the authoritarian Roman Catholic church of my youth, I simply do not understand the drift of my party toward a soulless collectivism”

    Wow. And wow.

  • GCBWI

    It’s at http://www.salon.com/opinion/paglia/2009/08/12/town_halls/

If she’s not careful, someone might report her to flag@whitehouse.gov…which she also denounces.

  • Swamp_Yankee

That is par for course for Paglia. She’s always hated collectivism, but she’s always been a militant lesbian pro-choice feminist. Of course, she hates the Catholic Church.

Andrew Sullivan’s soul sister, … I mean soulmate.

  • eburke

    special and unique case.

For the rest of these bimbos and AlGore plastic look alikes, making less sense 25 years from now than they do presently ain’t gonna be easy.

  • JadedByPolitics

get that 2000K people for Obama were bussed in…..it never occurred to her stupid little head that they were being bussed in and was the real news of hypocrisy to what The One had been saying.

I suppose I should get to know those sites better. I always find it interesting when I see libertarians who are firmly with the liberals. With the typical definition of libertarianism – that all relationships should be voluntary so that no one may initiate force for any reason (other than self defense) – what in the world do you think liberals actually stand for if not collectivism first and foremost?

Just wondering why they needed 8 of them.

  • redtillimdead

    I’ll take Obama over Biden!
On second thought, Biden would be pretty easy to beat in 2012, but Obama is already making that task easier anyway. The campaign commercials have already written themselves. Our candidate will have lots of material

  • George Claghorn

Please, please tell me you’re not serious.

  • jeffreywturner

If I were him, I would probably bring in ringers too.

After all, we are well aware of how he performs when his questions aren’t scripted (ie: “spread the wealth”) and even sometimes when they are (ie: “police acted stupidly”).

Let’s face it, this guy needs all the help he can get. He probably had training wheels on his bicycle until about age 15.

Oh well, maybe one day the media will fall in love with me and convince the sheeple to make me President too.

  • paint_it_red

Obama’s people have tried everything to marginalize those who oppose him on health care. We have been called “astroturfers” even though they bus in supporters to drown out (along with the drums) the real grassroots – the opposition to ObamaCare. Besides being called Nazis, unAmerican, rude, etc., they have now sunk into hypocrisy.

  • 6eorge Jetson

that the seniors should favor transferring a good deal of that care to younger folks that haven’t finshed paying their dues in their working years…

    Can you say non-sequitor

  • 6eorge Jetson

that they would go near a bus chartered by Zero™ and his cronies.
