Behold Florida’s new Senator. He is Charlie Crist’s errand boy.

George LeMieux is undecided on government run healthcare and he supports Barack Obama’s stimulus plan. He has taken his first act as a Senator: he blocked a plan to allow drilling off the Florida coast.

Charlie Crist’s errand boy continues doing Charlie’s errands. Do we want LeMieux’s keeper in the Senate?

Heck no. Support Rubio.

    We need a static, front page list of candidates the Redstate supports (or at least approves of) and links to their contribution pages. A 1-2 paragraph reason for supporting them would be terrific. I know there are a thousand things that should be up front on the site and all, but this is a big thing.

    Every so often I get a little extra money and need a place to put it, and it is a pain to dig through a lot of information trying to find the right link to a candidate I heard about here in the past.

    I really wanted to have a hope that at least this temp placeholder for Crist would help us hold the line until midterms. Yeah, like there was any chance of that.

    If he loses the primary, this appointment will end up being ‘Exhibit A’, even before his tax raising, etc…

    that is the key for Rubio. We know he SUCKS and we know the NRSC SUCKS for supporting him over a Conservative however do the people that will send him home to work on his tan know?

    His popularity is based upon nothing of substance, and is about as deep and meaningful as that fake tan. Once people get to know Rubio, and at the same time get to know the real Crist, the entire dynamic will change.

    Crist has thought he could coast into a Senate seat based only upon the fact that he is “well-liked.” The reality is that he may wake up the morning after the election and understand how much he has in common with Willie Loman.

    Florida needs to urge Governor Crist to join the Democratic Party as Mr. Spector of Pennsylvania did. It is time for Florida conservatives to notify Jim Greer and the rest of the Florida Republican Party to encourage the voices of conservatives such as Mr. Rubio to be heard. Florida and this country demand such a forum. Other politicians who claim to be Republican and conservative need to be heard or they are not what they pretend to be. Republican moderates are synonyms for “Democrat” and they had their opportunity in 2008 and before. To see how effective that message was, look where we’re at now.
