Is Zack Space Changing His Name?

Congressman Zack Space’s website is here. His Congressional site is is here.

There’s just one problem.

According to his campaign website, Congressman Space is no longer Zack Space, but Zach Space in the disclaimer.

Now, being named Erick, I get Eric with no “k”, Erik with no “c”, and Erich with an “h”, more frequently than I get my name spelled right.

But then I’m pretty sure if I were running for Congress or was a Congressman, I’d make sure my name was spelled right on my own website.

If he’s not paying attention to his own stuff, how exactly can we expect him to pay attention to your money?

    Any news on prospective candidates

Ohio is going to have some major congress races in 2010

Chabot and Stivers running again. Taking down Space and Bocceri

“I back Zack” (an attempt to be ‘cool’)

‘Zach Space for Congress Committee’ at bottom.

So the web designer made a typo and spelled his boss’ name wrong. So you then start to postulate that he doesn’t know how to spend the taxpayer’s money? If you think the that spellchecking the footer of his website should be a top priority for any congressman, then you have a very simplistic view of a congressman’s job. By the way… I can’t tell if this guy is a Rep or a Dem. But either way… Big deal.

And if you click on any of his platform pages it becomes glaringly obvious what party he’s with. Again, one of those attention to detail things that’s so important.

  • cringinghere

I don’t care who ya are, that right there is funny.

  • BlueFalcon

The GOP brand was damaged pretty heavily by the Abramoff scandal in the Ohio 18th, with Space handily beating his last two opponents. Is there some new poll that suggests he’s in trouble?

  • blooch

Mine still has yours beat. Good one, though.

    lol

  • aesthete

John Kerry uses “your” in a text message instead of “you’re” :D

  • doogle

However, I didn’t spend more than 10 seconds looking at his website, long enough to see the typo, and let out a yawn, and then leave.

Still I repeat that I could care less about a typo in the footer of his website.

Come on RedState.com, this is front page news for your blog? A typo? I come here to hear about the important issues that the liberal media conveniently overlooks, not typos like this. You can do better, Redstate.com

With all the nonsense in the current Administration and Congress, the serious political news, the rise of Socialism and the counterattack of Conservatism, how does this make a diary, much less the front page?

I have no interest in seeing typos on websites turned into political discourse. Especially since this wasn’t even done by the Congressman in question. All this really does is make the average voter think there aren’t any REAL issues to attack this guy on.

    This is nuts. Poor form.

I doubt too many congressmen work on their own website and I doubt they check their own sites that often. They may be conceited, but not that conceited

    I. No help from the spell-checker

state senator, lives in Holmes county, which is in the 18th, but that is the only county in his district that is in the 18th. He is running and so is Jeanette Moll. Moll is active in the Tea Party group in Zanesville but she ran before, lost to Fred Dailey who lost to Space. Moll isn’t much, she lacks experience and is not an impressive speaker. Gibbs is impressive, maybe a little oafish at times. His biggest problem will be overcoming low name recognition in the 18th. Really though it is all rather pointless, the 2010 census will probably wipe the 18th district away (Ohio is set to lose two seats probably).

but not a heckuva. Space has been pretty antagonistic locally with his constituents over Obamacare, refusing to host an in person town hall, wrote a rather half hearted op ed for the local papers. Zanesville and the more rural part of the district are pretty anti-Space right now. He’ll pull a lot of support from the northern part of the 18th but the rest probably not. Licking county could go either way, a lot of rural areas but Newark and Heath are a toss up.

Bush won the district with 55% against Kerry

Space voted for cap and trade its a big issue with coal voters in this area

There have been concerns from the farming community, a sizable voting block, about further regulation of waste, fuel, and environmental damage from farming.

Is Rule #5: “No trolling or mobying” from http://www.redstate.com/posting-rules/

Are you saying because I don’t think a topic on the front page is a distraction from real political discussion, I’m a troll or moby?

  • Gandalf

Sorry, I meant that I do think it is a distraction.

  • Flagstaff

He must be a Democrat, because he doesn’t say what party he belongs to on his campaign website home page or on the “about” tab. You have to hunt around there to find him slamming Republicans about the Medicare drug benefit.

  • Flagstaff

belongs to, it usually means he’s a Democrat. I wouldn’t want anybody to know, either.

  • DONTREADONME

and we can not have a Democrat that is associated with the KKK, oh wait.

It is not: there are more substantive and direct ways to attack the voting record and beliefs of Democrat Zack(h) Space.

He should be out of office next year: I see TV ads for him here in Columbus from the usual suspects praising him for supporting NObama’s energy policy, hell-th care, etc. His mainly rural/small town district – I cannot imagine otherwise – must see how out-of-touch he is with them.
