APB Out for Kay Bailey Hutchison aka Kaycorn

At some point a campaign can hit so hard, so fast, and so frequently that people begin to feel sorry for the beaten up opponent.

I’m afraid that may happen in the Texas GOP Gubernatorial Primary. But Kay Bailey Hutchison is just the gift that keeps on giving to the Perry team. Still, I’m getting a bit squeamish with so many punches thrown.

On the other hand, every punch has been legitimate. Every issue has been accurate. And Kay’s campaign would be doing the same thing, but they cannot get their act together. I’m actually a bit dumbfounded by the inability of the Hutchison campaign team to show a pulse. It’s like she hired Creigh Deeds’ campaign staff.

Time for a reorganization?

What’s all of this about? Well, the other day the United States Senate voted to cut off funding to ACORN. Kay Bailey Hutchison did not vote in the matter. Why? I hear she was at a fundraiser in Texas.

The website Washington Kay is having some fun at “Kaycorn’s” expense. And yes, Washington Kay is a project of the Rick Perry campaign, which is blessed with an aggressive and engaged campaign staff and a lifeless or hibernating opposition.

The Dallas Morning News is also reporting that KBH has one of the worst attendance records in the entire Senate: http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/washington/columnists/tgillman/stories/091509dnpolquicktake.18350c6f6.html

She has missed a lot of votes this year, including two big fiscal votes this week while raising money for her campaign.

She deserves it. Her run is ridiculous and there’s no excuse for her shirking her duties.

The cornerstone of Kay’s campaign is the “ride the wave” of Women to power success in the hopes that enough of those supposed “Independent” voters of the Female variety will vote for her just because she is a Woman. In Michigan, it was a big factor in how/why Stab[y]enow (Senator) and the Canadian Socialist Granholm (Governor) got elected (how they got re-elected is another topic). Also, a bit of the “I’ve been around long enough, it’s my turn” (implied: to cashi in) attitude.

HOWEVER, Michigan (and other States) hadn’t had Female Governors, Senators, SoS’, etc… and it was the “novelty” and/or (like Obama, the Hysterical…. er…) Historical aspect that some allowed themselves to go with the “perhaps the ‘CHANGE’ will be good” concept (has Obama cured this folly?) but Texas has already had a Female Governor in Ann Richards. Now, whether people will say there is “comparison” and that then factor in or if they just don’t bother to recall Ann may factor in the decision either way. We hope Granholm and Stabenow cure folks of this non-critical-thinking manner of choosing Elected Officials in Michigan going further (but hasn’t thus far), hopefully Texans have learned that it has to be about Substance!

But Really…. When are ALL PEOPLE, male and female, black and white, but especially the Politically Brain-dead gonna learn that all this STYLE OVER SUBSTANCE don’t cut it, and it is about CHARACTER and RECORD (not “promises”). Sexism, Racism, Class Warfare, etc…. has NO PLACE in pulling a voting lever!!!

That could certainly explain the poor performance of her campaign so far.

When I saw the ridiculous & less than truthful banner ad she was running on RedState….

I know a website needs all the revenue it can garner…..
I am in the marketing business and sometimes you hold
your nose and cash the check – I am just saying…..
I guess the KBH staff soon figured out they were wasting their money.

Can a REAL conservative step forward and run for Governor of Texas?
Neither one of these is much of a choice. Hutchinson is just an idiot and Perry is no catch either.
He’s a Democrat that changed parties and rode into office on Bush’s coat tails. He has also tried to pull have the largest land grab in Texas’s history. The I-69 corridor.

I’ll be leaving that spot on the ballot blank unless a real conservative steps up.

you’d think…with all that time to plan a campaign and roll her out…that they’d be able to do better wouldn’t you?

Perry has done a good job with the exception of his push on the trans texas corridor and there just isn’t a desire to replace him at this time…

Kay has embarked on a fool’s errand and her campaign reflects the foolish decision she’s made to leave Washington and take on a popular governor!

  • izoneguy

Kay, don’t let the doors of Congress hit your rear end on the way out.

I’m all in for Williams, but isn’t this a bit petty.

Every politician fund raises from time to time.

Every politician misses votes from time to time.

She won’t commit to running for Gov. You can’t be a Senator in times like these when your presence is needed to fight tooth and nail for every single bill being pushed through the senate right now AND successfully campaign for Gov at the same time.

And just who is going to vote for someone who won’t commit to running? She still hasn’t resigned as Senator. All that does is make her look like she is afraid she is going to lose and wants to keep the Senator’s office just in case. It also prohibits her from doing a good job campaigning. Who is going to hire someone who is only doing a half-@ss job in the interview process? (i.e. McCain)

And none of this is fair to her staff who bear the brunt of their fellow Texans’ wrath.

  • Scope

after laughing at Erick’s comment on her having hired Creigh Deeds campaign staff. The funniest part is, they just keep hanging on to the losers that will cause their losses, just as we saw with McLame. That’s not a highlight on their resumes to recommend they are qualified and capable of being elected.

You should check into the Debra Medina campaign. She’s a solid conservative on every issue. She’s wanting to fight back against unconstitutional federal laws by using nullification and interposition. Check out her Youtube channel at www.youtube.com/medinafortexas and her campaign website at www.medinafortexas.com.

For what it is worth, I don”t think that McCain consistently started doing a half-@ss job in the interview process until he went up against Obama. But then again, in the primaries he was running against men with at least some sense of honor. IMHO, McCain was under the delusion that Obama’s campaign would fight fair and was thus unwilling to hit hard back at them, Then again it’s my humble opinion that the only 100% conservative candidate didn’t have his heart in it but that might just be my biasiness as a Tennessean coming through.
