We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

    would read that particular document every now and again.

    How anyone can read the Constitution, then look at the size and scope of our federal government and think it is anything close to what was intended, is beyond me.

    I was finishing up Jim DeMint’s book last night and there is a copy of the Constitution at the back of the book. Must have been a misprint, because the section on entitlements was missing.

    For those of you in the DC area, the Cato Institute is celebrating Constitution Day with an event to unveil their annual Supreme Court Review. http://www.cato.org/events/ccs2009/index.html

    Among others speaking, Center for Competitive Politics Chairman Bradley A. Smith will be discussing the Supreme Court’s 2009 decision in Caperton v. Massey, which unfortunately flies in the face of the First Amendment by limiting the independent speech rights of citizens.     SOME QUESTIONS regarding the attitude of so many national office holders these days:

    You ever notice that so many politicians (aka publik servants) now simply REFUSE to be questioned?
    You notice so many ?publik servants? just quickly walk away?
    You notice so many ?publik servants? attack the questioner?
    You notice so many ?publik servants? are arrogant and rude?
    (You notice democrats seem to own these practices lately?)

    Does this not enrage the voters who sent them into office and pay them to vote and explain same?

    People of CHARACTER are eager to explain or defend their principles-votes-inactions.

    Its obvious to voters that these are the actions of people unworthy to be in such powerful positions
    ?and quite a signal we need new blood nationally?this abusive attitude by our servants cannot stand.
    (As if failing to read bills and refusing to meet with your district voters was not already enough reason for rage?)

    The Preamble says to “provide for the common defense, and promote the general welfare.” Our government nowadays tends to “promote the common defense, and provide the general welfare.”

    Liberals never learn until they are bleeding heavily from having shot off their own foot… and even then most of them don’t learn after they’ve shot off both feet! So sad!!! I guess 25% unemployment and people starving in all the streets across America is what it may take for us to overthrow those perpetrating this upon us. We have to awaken America one Liberal Comedian at a time it appears (first Dennis Miller, now “perhaps” Paul Rodrequiz, next?)….
