EDITOR OF REDSTATE

I Have Arrived!!!!!

Friends, I have arrived. If ever you doubted that I am somebody, we now have definitive proof brought to us by the Southern Poverty Law Center. They list Sean Hannity, Chuck Norris, Glenn Beck, Rick Perry, and me as examples of prominent voices on the right stirring up the next generation of Timothy McVeigh’s.

Apparently, daring to be critical of government and pointing out the right to defend yourself against tyranny is too much for the SPLC, which has taken a formerly proud history of fighting racism to whole new planets of absurdity.

But, I have arrived!

piece of racist white-trash! I’m so honored to be just a small part of your posse, Erick. It’s just awesome to be named the enemy by such a disgruntled bunch of lefties, isn’t it? No matter what else happens, you’ll always have this moment, won’t you, Erick.

This is a proud moment for RedState They hate you! They really hate you! Yayyyyy!!!

Erick, Erick, doesn’t the SPLC ever run out of strawmen and people to put on its Enemies List?

Wait: Erick — Man, I know you’ve been pulling MY puppet strings all this time. I’m going to need completely new rigging after all the times you’ve …

    blahblahblahblah.

I guess the SPLC has cracked the code! They’re *geniuses.*

Erick, I hereby dedicate this song to you and the SPLC. First the SPLC pulled my strings and then I fell into your nefarious clutches!

    I’m doomed. ;)

That makes you Prisoner #5 in the Camps!

Nice thing about low numbers is that the tattoo is smaler and thus less painful. Plus, you’ll get first pick as to hut and bunk!

Sadly, I have yet to be noticed sufficient to even warrant a number! (though my BeJohnGalt website may eventually get me one! :) )

I got “radicalized” early by Paine, Jefferson, Franklin and other RightWing “loons”…so my re-education may be lng and painful.

    Congrats again! Enjoy the spotlight!

p.s. know the difference between “spotlights” and “searchlights”? Trick question…there isn’t one!

Look at the violence that you’re perpetuating on that poor, helpless sentence with the vicious insertion of an apostrophe.

    I judge.

Master of Puppets is about drug addiction. Erick, I can truly say, in an echo of Nicholas Sarkozy’s wife: “You are my junk.”

And I mean that in the best sense of the term, Erick. I really do. ;)

  • janis

that you’re making your enemy take notice of you! The louder the scream and the more they condemn, the more you know your message is hurting them.

Those bums did their level best to drive Tennessee toward bankruptcy by filing one lawsuit after another to stop anyone from being tossed off TennCare, this state’s version of HillaryCare. Illegal aliens, people making $300,000 + per year, you name it, they defended it. They are scum.

This sad state of affairs is neatly summed up by Dinesh D’Souza:

“Publicly inconsolable about the fact that racism continues, these activists seem privately terrified that it has abated.”

Or, in the pop culture vernacular, the SPLC needs to get a friggin’ life.

Shame on you! I know for a fact at least 2 members of this site, your followers, attended this debacle. I hope you’re proud.

    /snark off

I sure am! Keep up the good work, bro, and congratulations. It’s an honor to be counted among the likes of Sean Hannity, Chuck Norris, Glenn Beck, Rick Perry, Rush, et. al.

just goes to show what we have done so far……..WE NEED MORE OF THIS!

  • JadedByPolitics

They are WORSE in my opinion then Jackson or Sharpton when it comes to all that race baiting hate. You are absolutely correct about spending their time railroading through court with whom they disagree. They are the ACLU on steroids and that is just pure EVIL…they are EXTREMELY anti-Semitic.

  • penguin2

The SPLC got only one thing right. Our Erick is a “prominent voice on the right.” Their equating it with T. McVeigh is pure insult not only to him, but at least half of this country. They must be desperate.

P.S. Sir Jim, my thanks again. Penguin now has shinny FF toolbar at the top of her screen.

  • sacody

Obama should be very afraid because in just over 13 months from now I am going to be sitting in my parked car at 6:59AM on Election Day waiting for my polling station to open salivating over the prospect of voting a straight ticket, and it isn’t going to break Obama’s way.

Truth to tell, the only people who ever prompted me to be anything other than a left-liberal progressivissimo Rage-Against-The-Machiner were…

All the people I met in Chicago, most of whom were academic leftists or liberals or progressivissimos.

See, it takes time. You start out loving the fact that everyone thinks like you, except more extreme than you. After a couple of trainwrecks you begin to question the groupthink. A little while after that, you realize how diligently you actually talked yourself into believing them. Then you watch a couple of things fall apart and be completely covered up, and you start to think again. Finally, you take stock and really follow the logic through to its logical conclusion and realize that you need to deprogram yourself, before it’s too late, and that the vast majority of the people around you actually don’t care about their principles, or the Constitution, or about the rule of law, but they see those things as means to an end of their ideology.

You can find all of that very strongly at a couple of law schools in Chicago, and you can also find it at the SPLC. My advice, having been there and known (and spoken personally with) several people at the SPLC in my official duties, is to reread Alinksy.

Erick Erickson can slam a revolving door.

  • The_Rebel

of any mention of ACORN. Has the SPLC ever written anything derogatory about this organization that has been slowly infiltrating and subverting American society for years? Is it any wonder that groups on the right are springing up to answer this socialistic trend wrought by groups such as this? Just the sight of my user name is probably setting off alarm bells and investigative action within the walls of that scum center.

  • 10ksnooker

Being fingered by the KKK’s legal wing is something to crow about?

They are nothing more than two guys and their dog p operating out of their garage. They just pop out, like Jimmy ‘closet segregationist’ Carter when they think they can help.

    Remember… Thou Art Mortal…

  • penguin2

They are a fairly prominent voice who constantly engage is race baiting issues. Actually, I don’t understand your reference to the KKK. Is there another one than the one I know historically? The SPLC acts as a legal wing and voice for the perceived victims of racism, constantly playing the race card. Their origins may have been founded for noble purposes, but today they engage in keeping race an issue.

Now it looks like they are carrying the water for the administration and Obama’s Socialist/Communist party.

  • archer52

I used to read their magazine as it was part of the set of “research” sources our police department used to identify threats. It didn’t take long for me to realize they were bigoted and biased towards the right side of the spectrum. Sadly, they hold some sway in the argument because of their history.

Their bias and their inaccuracy convinced me early on they were useless as a source for identifying hate groups. Here is the map they use to list their discoveries.

    http://www.splcenter.org/intel/map/hate.jsp#s=CO

Pick a state and see how many non-white groups are listed. Outside repeating the Nation of Islam a couple of times, there aren’t many. How is that? No Cuban gangs (drugs, guns, human trafficking, terrorism). No Hispanic gangs, outside one listed as anti-black in a recent article. No blacks, outside the Nation of Islam. And no CAIR or other organizations that have shown a desire to fund terrorism.

For fun I looked in Ill. and PA. to see if Jeremiah Wright made it or the NBP’s voter assistance program was mentioned. Sure enough the NBP is listed. A quick search of articles in their database showed some mention but I couldn’t find anything much past 2003. Hmmm….

They are as useful as the official sounding groups that tell us we can’t eat salt, our kids are being raised wrong and the world is going to end if we don’t stop using fossil fuel. It gives the MSM a good sound bite and headline to start their 2 minute diatribe against their favorite target. I can see it now. “With websites like Redstate and others, it will be only a matter of time until dead bodies with “Fed” written on them will be strewn across the land” says representative of SPLC.”

Yeah, right. I will say the same thing I did when I was working in the anti-gang unit. “Do me a favor, try to find a real bad guy and get back with me.”

  • http://www.redstate.com/tnjim TNJim

of the one to which Erick linked is this:

Here, drawn from the watchdog organization Media Matters for America…

Here, SPLC, let me correct that for you:

Here, drawn from the lapdog organization Media Matters for America

That’s better, and way more accurate. Also, not as great an insult to the Doberman Pinschers, German Shepherds, and Rottweilers of the world.

Penguin, ain’t that toolbar, fun? You’re most welcome.

  • JadedByPolitics

and exert my Constitutional right to protest! How absolutely RIGHTWING of him to build up my Patriotism & fill my heart with the beauty of the country that has given my family such Freedoms as the RIGHT to peaceably protest against a government that has OVER REACHED.

  • janis

have been able to cause quite a bit of trouble on a number of fronts.

  • Heffalump

We should add this date to our calendars and celebrate it every year..

  • mikefisk

…in fact, they’re fellow travelers. Possibly even role models.

The SPLC is one of the more despicable, racist organizations in American society. Them going after you should be rightly taken as a badge of honor, as their particular use of past evils as justification to wreak greater evil on society at large is heinous at best.

  • Achance

gin up something to keep the grants and contributions coming in. So, they’ll reprise the “right wing militia” thing. Hey, worked pretty well for the Kennedys, WJC used it and lots of people died but the lefties loved it. They’ll keep doing it as long as it works. And it will work as long as some crazy that they can associate with the right keeps popping up and doing crazy things. I terrified that there’s some guy out there wearing camo and typing with one hand who is going to do something stupid.

this what Dee’s former law partner had to say about him:

“He’s the Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker of the civil rights movement,” renowned anti- death-penalty lawyer Millard Farmer says of Dees, his former associate, “though I don!t mean to malign Jim and Tammy Faye.”

Although I must admit that this is much kinder to Morris Dee’s that what Mrs. Dee’s had to say here:

Who are the other three guys?

  • throwback59

A man is known by the company he keeps and the enemies he makes. You’ve done well on both accounts.

  • The_Rebel

Just last month he was referenced on GMA by Brian Ross, hyping that President Obama supposedly ?triggered fears among…white people…that they are somehow losing their country.? Ross also used another sound bite from Potok stating that the militia groups had infiltrated the town hall health care meetings. Potok’s only evidence was a lone individual?s apparent connection to a militia which plotted violence.

Potok is as dangerous as Morris Dees, make no mistake about it.

It was their report that prompted the Dept. of Homeland Security to label all christians, conservatives, and Veterans as a potential threats to the Nation. (Like all those guys they busted in NY and CO, right?)

Congrats Eric. We see their fear through the Timothy McVeigh smoke screen.

  • The_Rebel

Morris could be coming for you for posting this unsavory reference. :)

Right up there with Chuck Norris:

They once made a Eric Erickson toilet paper, but it wouldn’t take s**t from anybody.

Eric Erickson does not hunt because the word hunting infers the probability of failure. Eric Erickson goes killing.

Eric Erickson knows where Carmen Sandiego is.

    -Congrats!

In their view, everybody should be equal (but probably with “the downtrodden” being more equal).

Therefore, we need to petition the SPLC to add ALL our names to their list, or better yet, hold some tea parties at their headquarters demanding they redistribute the listings for equality.

Hey, I think I heard something like that before, but I’m not sure where. Wasn’t about any list of names though. Oh well……

    Congratulations, Erick !

While it is true that primarily white people purchased slaves in the south AFTER the slaves were brought here on a ship. Largely through tribal warfare (winners sold losers into bondage to black and white sellers). It is largely through the efforts of white people following principles of Christianity and the US Constitution that they were freed. The Civil War was about money, not slavery. The north wanted cheap cotton. The south was selling it to England for a higher price. The north said they were coming to free the slaves, but the truth is slavery was declining and the real problem was getting cheaper goods. Suppose, if black tribes (the winners) just killed the loosers or they escaped and remained, in say, South Africa. Their ancestors might today be living in those corrogated tin shacks or their DNA may well have been stamped out all together. It is too bad that many in the black leadership continue to rail against whites fomenting hatred thus preventing unity of all Americans. Many intelligent blacks understand that it is from the US Constitution that all persons gain individual freedom and support the New Tea Party movement.

  • mdwarren

Finally, after being shut down for over 40 years, true Americans have the momentum to push our country forward based on the principals of our founding Constitution, beliefs and rights. We need to keep it going forward.

This is America, not Africa. Is there an organization that will support sending Africans back to Africa? African Americans don’t live here anymore… just true Americans.

I’m against those, black and white, that want to destroy our heritage and our country.

Keep up the Great work Erick

  • blooch

He was in a hurry to get back to the lab.

The Southern Paranoid Leftist Center has credible info that Erick is stirring up a highly acidic car bomb which can be concealed in a Hybrid’s batteries. If you don’t stop minding his P’s & Q’s, he’s going to name it the “Moelotov Cocktail” .

  • tubaman

Congratulations Erick! I just found this site awhile back, but I am honored to be reading such “right wing propaganda” as this!

  • pro_libertate

It is certainly a mark of prestige to be singled out by the SPLC. Since they been looking for a reason to exist for the past few decades, I guess becoming a typical Lefty bleeding-heart “social justice” organization is really just the next step for them.

To be honest, I am a little jealous. Given the country’s political climate these days, it is a badge of honor to be labeled as a “right-wing extremist” by any of these Progressive types. Now, you will have REALLY arrived when your name is on a DHS watch list.

What was that line from TJ about when the government fears the people…?

    Great job, Erick!
