Yeah, we should get over a lost election, kinda like how you “Got over” the Bush election both times (Bush stole FL., Folks in Cleveland got disenfranchised, Diebold machines were set to give votes to Bush). Well, sorry, I am not going to get over ACORN having fraudulent voter registration. I am not going to get over the dough from unexplained sources that flowed into the Bambi campaign, and I am definitely not going to get over the fact that you use this election to be my parent. I have two parents, I don’t need one who wouldn’t know me from from a number on a spreadsheet.

When I hear folks complain about the left and double standards it amazes me that many on the right really do not understand this. Certainly most of the GOP leadership doesn’t understand it either: There are two completely different cultural and moral frameworks involved.

The Conservative side has a concrete rule structure, which, when our members break one or more of the rules, they are subject to punitive action. Most of the time. There are failures at times, of course, to correct an issue altogether while at other times (all too often) the punishment exceeds the crime. However, at root, there is a well known set of standards and a process for enforcing them.

The Left delights in roasting us over failures because a) we have rules which we follow, making it more difficult to win (i.e. we are stupid in their eyes) and b) we’re not perfect in following those rules, thus making ourselves hypocrites in their eyes.

The Left’s only rule structure is Machiavellian in nature; anything goes as long as it leads to their desired outcome; anyone’s personal ethics/behavior are acceptable to the extent they do not damage the cause. This is the practical outcome of relativistic thinking.

If a politician/entertainer (of any stripe) is seen as useful to the left’s cause then their personal conduct/activities are of no import - until those activities create a political liability and then they are jettisoned (or more likely simply moved to a less visible - but still effective- role in the shadows.)

Those who are caught are usually cheered and admired, much as a high school prankster is cheered when suspended for his/her daring activities. When they are not cheered, it is because they damaged the cause and not because their behavior was reprehensible or violated any kind of moral code or standard.

Examples:

The prankster slashes the Principle’s tires or key’s the paint: Good. He’s a hero.

The prankster gets caught selling the test answer key the other students were counting on to pass the test and they all fail Bad, he’s a loser.

Obama’s whole reason for being was that he wins. Only by shifting from victory to victory (no matter how phony, fraudulent or manufactured) was he able to build up to and finally win the Presidency.
And you could sense that throughout the primaries–he had to win, not because he needed the votes, it was to keep the aura of “winner” unblemished. Every win by Clinton didn’t matter ’cause he won something else at the same time (and it didn’t matter that he was getting beat in all the states he couldn’t rig–he won.)
Now that the Won is losing, it’s all falling apart and they, love-sick fanboy, are lashing out in anger.

Don’t you just love the irony of a leftie telling you what a hateful person you are by calling you every name in the book.
It’s like being called a bum by some homeless wino.

I mean, it’s only been since January 20th. Hopefully they will mature with time.

National commentators have mentioned this and I agree. The larger danger is the US media. Obama is almost entirely their creation. Perhaps he believed what they built him up to be and hence misjudged his ability by setting up a White House Olympic office and the rest of it. When I was much younger, I would take the NY Times list of endorsements into a voting booth and pull the lever for whatever name they gave. I thought I was hip and smart to do so. Even this talking point about whether it’s mean to be happy Obama failed is a leftist creation-I read it in Newsweek.
