I’ve long maintained that the campaign committees should maintain a simple policy - if they want to support their favored candidate, fine, but do so without attacking the other primary candidates.

Run all the ads you want touting the virtues of Chaffee, Scozzafava, whomever. DON”T run an ad that even mentions or refers to the opponents of your chosen candidate. Ever.

According to Republican National Committee sources, a poll on the 23rd District race paid for by the NRCC and due to be released on Monday has been withheld due to a poor showing by the Republican candidate. An NRCC denied that the poll was being held back, but was being reviewed for “margin of error issues.”
