Pour Rock Salt on Snowe

Olympia Snowe has sold out the country. Having been banished to our world after Aslan chased her out of Narnia, Snowe is intent on corrupting this place too.

So we should melt her.

What melts snow? Rock salt.

I’m going to ship this 5 pound bag of rock salt to her office in Maine. It’s only $3.00. You should join me.

It is a visible demonstration of our contempt for her. First she votes for the stimulus. Now this.

It’s time to melt Snowe. ORDER YOUR BAG HERE.

You’re gonna get on a list somewhere.

    A *secret* list.

    With names on it.

  • Swamp_Yankee

You might want to send something less useful like sun tan lotion.

  • Spartan4Life

She called McConnell and said she had reservations about the bill but was going to vote for it “to keep process moving”.

I kind of agree. This monstrosity needs to get to conference. All of this is just smoke until the House and Senate Democrats write the final legislation in conference. That ought to be a real circus. Betting that by the time the American people get a look at that spectacle the support for this “reform” will be less than 15%.

BTW, the Republicans should boycott the conference(but they won’t).

  • ZombieReagan

LET’S GIVE HER A WEDGIE AFTER HOMEROOM, TOO!

    sorry…I’m a C.S. Lewis junky…

  • leftylurker

Don’t get me wrong man. I disagree with about 99% of what is said on this site, but dude…don’t you have better things to do than flametroll?

(Side note, flame trolls are a really bad idea, because they can’t regenerate the damage they do to themselves).

I would like some other lefties on this site, because it’s nice to have some backup every once in awhile. Why not act like a good guest and have some discussion?

  • Jack_Savage

Every day is a new low for the left. Every day.

  • ZombieReagan

    Give me a break.

The guy at the hardware store is going to wonder what hit him. At least someone will see some economic activity in this economy.

  • ZombieReagan

I did have other names that I used for “discussion” which were summarily banned for not toeing the line here.

This is a lot more fun.

As we know, salt kept the British navy running for many a year back when Britannia ruled the waves.

Not sure that’s the behavior we want to encourage in our elected officials. :)

  • leftylurker

I come here because I want to talk to the people here. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t come here.

Why would you go over to someone’s house just to yell at them in their living room? What’s the point? All you do is convince them that you’re wrong.

If you work, and try to understand them, then maybe you and they can come together and figure out a place where you’re both happy.

I’m never going to be a hard conservative, but man, there are problems in the world that need fixing. It might help to see what everyone has to say, and to speak to them respectfully in their own language. I’d like to believe this is a liberal value btw….

  • Jack_Savage

The sound of Barack Obama’s approval numbers plummeting combined with the death cries of Creigh Deeds’ gubernatorial campaign are drowning out everything.

Hey, where is the anti-war protest this weekend? There isn’t one? Seriously? Wow…

  • ZombieReagan

But I don’t really want to “converse” with people who think Obama’s a Nazi and Teddy Kennedy is burning in hell.

Drum Snowe out of the regiment along with the other two flakes, McCain and Graham ?

  • IncandenzaH

Hm. Wonder how much wampum Red $tate pulls in from the unwitting Snowe-melting folks who — upon Erick’s personal recommendation — order five-pound bags of salt for $4 (plus $12 shipping) from Red State’s own Amazon storefront?

    Sure,

we’d all love to replace Snowe and the rest of te senator flakes, but that isn’t likely to happen.

Face it, 2010; the tea people may be able to turn the dems out of their pickups in gop districts; but real change is going to take one helluva movement; i dont see that yet.

It’s more important to STOP THE PROCESS in which America is ruined, rather than help it along. If the Democrats are intent (as they always are) in wrecking this country with their ever expanding desire for more government, no Republicans should give them a helping hand. That Snowe would do so, just show how backwards her thinking really is.

and in the MEMO field write: “RESIGN”

….as in the Daily Dimes Dichotomy: creating an NRSC: Daily Dimes Dichotomy (see too: RNC called, I hung up! & Republicans must be the Party of NO [to Bigger Govt.] not the Party of SLOW[er Liberal Incremental-ism]) she needs to be sent the message in a manner they understand $$$$$ as the costs associated with dealing with a flood of 2 cent checks would exceed the money received.

While we’re at it, we should be sending 2 cent checks to McLame and Gramnesty too… where is that Checkbook at, as I need to be the first to do this…. Worth the 2 cents and the “Forever” Stamps I stocked up on back when they were only 39 cents — :P PostOffice.

Hope I can count on the others involved in those DDD conversations to step up and do likewise.

BTW: I have more “fund-raiser” letters and postage-paid envelopes… I’ll be sending those back in without contributions (to COST THEM MONEY, again – to try and get a point across by costing them money rather than generating them some) and a Note that I will NOT send them any money, EVER, until McCANE, Snowe-job, Tom-Collins, Gramnesty, are NO LONGER IN OFFICE! *OR* are getting and buckling under to appropriate pressures from the Party (acting like a Red-Dog rather than a RINO. I can tolerate them wanting to “Moderate” some if/when we are the Majority!

I will continue to support CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES ONLY directly as well as Conservative 527′s….

    Hi Erick;
Got an e-mail for Paypal ?
Dump truck or bellydump would do well….probably $40.00 a yard or so…17 yards to the end dump…
Snowe should not be allowed in the party. McCain either. And a few others.
The GOP.COM has a new page..
I went there, they wanted a picture and a one-liner as to why I am a Republican.
Gosh…maybe somebody can refine this a bit…it has to be short, but here’s what I got:

” I am a Republican because they are the lesser of two evils, even as dislocated from their base and gutless as they are.”
I mean, well, it hits the spot, it’s honest…but just doesn’t have that punchline zip to it…
Thanks again, keep up the good work!

Sen, Snowe needs to know that people flat out do not want this bill or for that matter any of the dominate healthcare reform ideas the Democrats are putting forward. I do hope that I don’t get on any lists or lose my security clearance.

  • mecat212

5# bag of salt on it’s way. Erick what a brilliant idea. If we are on a list so be it. Like I said above to leftylurker, after health care, we will all be on a list and it will not be secret.

and for all others’ consideration… If you have online Banking with Auto-pay capability for a flat fee — you too should consider this….

It costs me NOTHING but the 2 cents per person (even I can afford 10 cents a month or so for this strategy ;-) lol) I’m sending the 2 cents Check to, so I’ve decided I’m going to setup Auto-pay MONTHLY Checks to, at least, Snowe ME and McCain AZ, and that list may grow (probably add Graham)…

These, of course, need to be PHYSICAL CHECKS being sent, as Electronic Payments go pretty-much sight-unseen and need to show up in their Offices in an envelope to force them to open and process the impact of the message and point that (my 2 cents, every month, is that they should RESIGN). They have to be physical checks to 1. Tie up the personnel to actually handle the check and see the point .2. Take the time/effort to post the contribution to “official” campaign records ….. etc…. EVENTUALLY, if enough of us do this, it may start to sink in….

Yo — Glenn Beck — I’d like to appear on to discuss it to pass the idea to the entire Nation at once — ;-) lol — needs to be a flood of these!!!!!

Rock salt is good….but here’s something else to try: removerinos.com . We’re on a mission to defeat every RINO who ever runs in another GOP primary. Our main vehicle is a website, removerinos.com, aimed at compiling an e-mail list of 25,000 potential donors to any candidate who’ll oppose Snowe and/or 22 other RINOs. With over 500 citations (2/3 from the ACU), it?s also one of the most informative sites on the subject of RINO voting records. After Snowe?s vote today, THIS truly is the time to start putting together donor lists to try to beat these RINOs. Please go to removerinos.com to see what you can do. We can still put a lot of pressure on Snowe’s before the final vote.

Got to where they are when the 17th amendment was ratified. That essentially made Senators dictators for life. The States representation in the federal government was removed and the unfunded mandates flowed like rain.

    States rights were done.

A similar situation is setting up in Florida when Crist the media darling, will get in and vote for Democrat socialism every time. You want to know why Florida is broke, ask Crist. Crist wants to be Florida’s Snowe.

Rubio is a stellar conservative … help him if you can.

So, just because some blue dawgs voted against this in committee, will not save them from my wrath if they vote for the final bill, so too if Snowe votes against the fianl bill, this interim vote will be irrelevant. I care about what gets enacted into law. PERIOD. I have indulged to many democrat conservative apologists in my life who would point to meanigless votes to justify their staying in the dem party.

But as for snowe and graham, there is already enough resons not to support them for re-election.

But as to the health care bill, I will hold people accountable for the final votes on the bill to make it law or not. Actual laws effect my life, not committee votes and floor speeches.

  • leftylurker

    I like that.

without her vote. Don’t you get it yet? The Dems have an absolute, unbreakable majority in both House and Senate. They can pass anything they want to — assuming they have the political courage to do it.

Giving them unnecessary Republican support — with or without so-called “reservations” — helps shore up that political courage.

This is NOT something Republican Senators should be doing.

  • http://www.ssce.net/Web-Articles/Web-articles-indexed-authors.html#authors-l JLenardDetroit

we’ve discussed a few times and I touch on in CRA and is a shame that some folks (mostly those Liberal Laziness folks that never pay attention therefore fall for all that everytime) don’t understand how that works. It is, as you know, not always just votes like this, especially in the House – usually competing Bills exist and they trade votes on/for one over the other so-as to have Votes (in pocket to quote back in District) knowing they will pass the final Bill yet say they were “against” (if cornered pull the compromise BS excuse – gotta have a Bill garbage) and point to their NO vote…. Or, of course, the other way around, depending upon who they are talking to at the time and needing to twist their position (desire to grow Government at any cost for any reason) to fit what the potential Voter wants to hear!

Again, you know that…. we have to keep repeating it for those visitors (casual readers) that drop by and do not yet.

As fro Snowe, Graham, McCain…. they have gone against us far too many times in every context and it is only those way over the line RINOs I’m hoping to make the 2 cents Check RESIGN statement with/against – since it really does only cost me 2 cents a month per RINO. They are certainly NOT going to resign nor are they ever going to listen to us to vote the right way, they will continue to try and throw us a vote only enough to “calm us down” and not be so vocal about them – I don’t want anyone letting up anymore. If we do not demonstrate, IMO, that we are willing to truly dog them and try to remove them (Primary preferred) then we don’t have the full-force of our words when we ask/demand Conservatives work with us WITHIN the Republican Party to force it Conservative – we then appear duplicitous if we keep letting them off the hook.

Your point regarding this “Vote out of Committee” is taken…. Not a final Bill vote, a nuance Snowe has gone out of her way to imply with her “it may not be my vote later” quote all over the MSM. But in this case particularly, she knows darn well it is all about allowing the BI-PARTISAN BS SPIN and again allowed herself to be used (and/or to purposefully appear to set up that “duplicity” vote for Democrats in ME to have reason to vote for her). So while in many cases I would otherwise agree with your point on it – I cannot in this case! Was her vote even needed? Since when is the 60% rule required on Committee votes?!?!?! It would have been 13-9 if she just didn’t vote or 13-10 with her NO vote — still out of committee1

  • http://www.ssce.net/Web-Articles/Web-articles-indexed-authors.html#authors-l JLenardDetroit

I have spoken with 6 different Senate Offices and the Senate Finance Committee office itself to confirm it only requires 50% vote out of committee…. Therefore, Snowe’s vote to make it 14-9 was only for the BI-PARTISAN BS SPIN cover!!!! She could have and should have voted NO and it still would have moved from Committee.
senate.finance.gov/rules.pdf does not implicitly say it and I have thus far haven’t found anyone (I’ve got calls into Press departments) that can give me a definative reference to provide a citation.

So those looking to make excuses, cover, or work-arounds for her votes (no, not refering to anyone in this particular conversation – just general about the MSM talking heads spin) can maybe get around to reporting that inconvenient FACT!!!!!

  • izoneguy

    plain & simple….

She should have voted NO but that would not have got her any TV coverage. She is an older female looking for approval. Sure she might get some of the leftys and maybe in Maine that is what she needs to get re-elected? But once this craptastic piece of crap becomes law then she won’t be able to find any cover when the folks in Maine get screwed big time – as are the rest of Americans – and that includes all the leftys who were dying for National HealthCare coverage. Meanwhile, when Snowe comes down with some disease – it will be off to the Congressional hospital for her…..

  • baldego

loves to make homemade ice cream. Are we sure we’re not helping her out here?

  • http://www.ssce.net/Web-Articles/Web-articles-indexed-authors.html#authors-l JLenardDetroit

and Open Letter to other Liberal/Democrat lurkers….

You are indeed one of a few Liberals (I’ll speak for myself only and say) I look forward to reading/engaging here at RedState as you are one of the few that can engage and be respectful while doing so. We won’t agree on many things, but I hold out hope for you still in the long run ;-) lol – since you’re open to honest/factual debate/discussion.

You do know, however, there are some (probably much farther left and on the Democrat fringe perhaps) here just to Troll/Moby and be disruptive. They come here with the intent to be banned eventually, because they can than slither back to the DailyKook nest and wear their dismissal/banning as a Badge Of Lefty-loon Honor…. You also know (and I state for the benefit of other casual observers) We generally adhere to the Hinz-Rule (or King-Rule) and ignore them, or just attempt to dismiss troll, but it is sometimes Therapuetic almost for us to have some fun (levity) at their attempts to trolljack a thread before they get the Blam-stick. As I engaged herein this thread. Sometimes we may get a bit carried away, to which I will apologize (again, only for myself) if I have.

Again, there are many aspects of discussion we welcome Left perspectives and attempts to correct what we believe to be misperceptions and/or Democrat mis-leadings in such matters — such as: the “It Takes A Village” concept I’ve addressed in a few (one here: Liberals misuse Religion for Liberal Govt. expansion and/or Dealing with our Frustration with the Politically Brain-dead) Diaries.

Again — MOST OF US WELCOME LIBERALS FOR DISCUSSIONS — shame they can’t all be “polite,” nice, etc… like you!!! An Echo-chamber doesn’t help us to best define our arguments and presentations, but attempting to bother to be a member and engage in disucssion at DailyKooks or HuffPooPoo would be as futile for us. I hope you invite more of your friends that are “reasonable” like you to come by.
