Lindsey Graham Climate Dance with the Democrats

Read this at Human Events please.

Sen. Lindsey Graham  (R-S.C.) has turned his back on the latest science, economics, the Republican Party, and American national security, by announcing his new partnership with Senator John Kerry (D-Mass.) to find “the winning formula” to pass global warming cap-and-trade legislation.

Graham is now touting his view that man-made global warming fears are real and can be “solved” by passing Congressional cap-and-trade legislation. Graham teamed up with Sen. Kerry to write an October 11 New York Times op-ed explaining that the GOP and Democrats should “work together to address an urgent crisis facing the world.”

Graham has latched on to perhaps the silliest of all arguments and the most insulting to voters’ intelligence: that somehow passing a congressional climate bill will lead to fewer wars in the future.

Then, if you live in South Carolina, call Lindsey Graham and tell him to shut up. His number is (202) 224-5972.

Republicans Need To Primary This Buffoon

DavidSage Monday, October 19th at 11:42AM EDT (link)

South Carolina is probably the most conservative state in the US, they should have a much more solid, Republican Senator.

ANY Republican will end up winning that Senate seat, so the real contest is the Republican primary. I’m sure there are plenty of Republican politicians in South Carolina that could take his place, and all of them would be better than Graham.

Conservatives have given him way too much slack, all because he’s been decent on a few national security issues. Conservatives should have knocked him off last time around.

SC Had Their Chance To Get Rid of Him

Just like AZ has had to remove McCain on multiple occasions.

I don’t believe the Republicans in either state will get rid of these guys.

My guess is Lindsey(Lindsay?) has that job for life.

I’d love to be wrong, but 2008 was a real eye-opener about the supposed “conservatism” of SC Republicans…

Agreed. I gave up on SC in '08.

Graham is a disgrace to our party.

Not even Cap and Trade’s proponents sell it on the benefit to the environment, since we can’t compel China and India to participate.

Why cripple our economy voluntarily.

Needs to face a primary challenge with a real conservative. Graham does not only lend fodder for the bipartisanship lie, he will also draw the support of other squishes. Snowe and Collins will be next to openly support it. They will add some small amendment about nuclear energy 20 years in the future and McCain will support it. And because of the republican support, the blue dog dems will support it. When cap and tax wrecks our economy, they will blame the republicans.

“My concern about the role of the federal government is that an intrusive government, a government that says, ‘Don’t worry, we will solve your problems’ is a government that tends to crowd compassion out of the marketplace, that too often in the past people said: ‘Somebody else will take care of the problem in my area. Don’t worry. The government is here.’”

Right now McCain is opposeing it...because he's up for re-election...if you ask me...Graham is his mouthpiece on this...

Senator Graham

autiger89 Monday, October 19th at 1:36PM EDT (link)

We tried to get rid of him last November, but he’s too entrenched with the “good old boys” here in the state. The only county he lost was Greenville County, in the upstate.

Sadly, he’s too stupid to understand that the Democrats are using him; he thinks he’s an “important” member of the Republican Party, and that he can help block or pass any legislation. All the Democrats have to do is massage his ego a little to get what they want.

Graham has touted his penchant for “principled compromise.” I’m curious who slipped him that term; they must be rolling with laughter that he doesn’t even understand the contradiction in that.

Exactly which principles are you willing to compromise, Senator? Which principles are you not willing to compromise?

Methinks that his guiding principle IS to hold compromise above all else. Such as “Well, we compromised. I don’t know about what, but at least we compromised.”

Not only.........

Graham ! I tune into Huckabee , Sunday evening on Fox only to hear Mr Huck espouse his support for a form of cap and tax !

So, with Huck leading in the polls for 2012 who the devil will I be able to vote for if we have only RINOS running in opposition to the Great Marxist Dictator Obama ?

Exactly!

autiger89 Monday, October 19th at 1:56PM EDT (link)

The Huckster has never been “a Conservative (noun).” The Rasmussen poll showing him in the lead for the GOP nomination in 2012 stunned me.

This far out, that's only a name ID number. nt

Achance Monday, October 19th at 2:01PM EDT (link)

In Vino Veritas

Name ID does drive early polls like this

Illinicon Monday, October 19th at 2:17PM EDT (link)

but the fact that people who would vote in a GOP primary dont know what the Huckabee name stands for isnt a good sign. Though if he keeps spouting off about supporting some sort of cap and trade people will finally get it. Ailes strikes again, take out Huck 2012 by giving him an hour a week to expose himself as the statist he is.

Jindal/Thompson ‘12

Bringing clear Conservative change to America.

Thompson is no Conservative either

autiger89 Monday, October 19th at 4:59PM EDT (link)

He was convinced by McCain to enter the race to split the conservative vote that was (at the time) pulling voters away from McCain and toward Huckabee and Romney.

And I’m starting to have my doubts about Jindal.

…but I’m intrigued by the fact that Graham always looks like he’s about to cry. Are those teary eyes the windows to his soul? Might explain a lot.
