EDITOR OF REDSTATE

Notice to Everyone

Hoffman has not won. Yet.

Keep up the pressure. Redouble your efforts. Let’s be excited by the victory we have had, but don’t stand out. Stand up for Doug Hoffman.

PS – As one of our contributors noted private: It speaks volumes about the pathetic leadership of the GOP right now that we are beating up the GOP today instead of beating up the Democrats. Now is the time to beat up the Democrats and drive Hoffman, McDonnell, and Christie to victory on Tuesday.

Not Sessions. Not Steele. Not Gingrich. Not Scozzafava. Not Hucakbee. Not Romney.

Any of them that need dealt with later, we’ll get to them. For now, let’s take out Owens.

Long term strategy for agitation in the rear is above my pay grade.

Don’t forget about Harmer in CA-10. Even a good showing by him in a losing cause will force Democrats to see a wave coming to sweep them away in 2010:

I was just thinking about this problem. Now is not the time to gloat in “victory.” The election is not over. If anything, now is the time to work harder and make our message that much louder.

And don’t think the Country-Club Republicans won’t fight back. The RINOS and squishes won’t go down this easily.

Gee, I wish we had a Doug Hoffman here in KS-03.

    Get. Out. The. Vote.

where our team is winning with only seconds to go in the game, and, whammo the other team scores a touch down in the last 3 seconds. That is why we must keep pushing for Hoffman, and, against Ownes until the last vote is counted. It does feel good though, as now Hoffman has the wind at his back, without interference.

    Consider it a Holloween treat!

    1. Will Hoffman’s campaign have the legs for the final sprint?

    2. Will the damage already done by the GOP blunt Hoffman’s appeal?

    3. Will the last-minute endorsements of Hoffman by formerly hiding-in-the-bushes Republicans be too little and too late?

    4. Will Dede’s vote split evenly, or will it tip toward one or the other remaining candidates?

    5. If Dede gets over her pique and endorses Hoffman, will that be a plus or a minus for his campaign?

In other words, take NOTHING for granted. Keep pushing, keep talking, keep working for Hoffman.

  • DONTTREADONME

Hoffman, I know that’s stupid for me to notice that but everytime I hear stand-up for [nsert name here], I think the fiasco of the wellstone memorial. Bad ju-ju.

  • Third Street

Not that I think it’ll draw more than 10% of the vote now, but still wondering.

  • http://andrightlyso.com/ civil_truth

As is usual, there is a deadline when a candidate can withdraw and have their name removed from the ballot. That date has long passed.

Plus, as others have pointed out, she’s technically “suspending” her campaign, not withdrawing her candidacy.

  • DavidS1787

and getting him elected……. Also alerting the media to Crist’s dirty tricks campaign and how desperate he is trying to sink Rubio’s attempt to become a U.S. Rebublican Senator Candidate from Florida……. Rubio takes on the issues!!!! While Crist is focused on personal attacks.

I’m curious if Hucka Hucka being the opportunist that we all know and love will jump on the Hoffman bandwagon now. I haven’t had enough adult beverages to watch so if someone will, greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the endorsement of Doug Hoffman Governor. As someone who voted for you in the NY state presidential primary I’m very disappointed that you’re “coming so late to the party” in support of Mr. Hoffman. We could have used your support a month ago.

    I hope that helps :-)

Looks like even Hucka Hucka can now support Hoffman, such leadership, makes me all warm and tingly, might even get something tingling in my leg if I’m not careful.

come to us and attempt to “bring us down” because I believe that WE all know the stakes in this and WE know how this SMACKDOWN of the NRCC & RNC was invaluable and WE know that it is NOW the Democrats WE must beat. I think what NEEDS to be said is how the NRCC & RNC MUST fire about 1/2 the tools who work for them. That those who are NOT principled and BELIEVE in the Conservative Cause should pack up their offices and head HOME!

WE should NEVER have to fight our own party EVER and that they continuously FORCE us to do so shows the problem with the party. WE are not neanderthals WE are human beings that believe in this country and CONSERVATIVE PRINCIPLES and WE have 40% of the public that are willing to tell a pollster they are indeed Conservative. I believe once the GOP gets their heads WRAPPED around that FACT they can either come to US or they can jump ship and call themselves Democrats but there can be NO MORE RINO’s in perfectly fine Conservative districts EVER AGAIN!

in the Party, in the precinct committeemen ranks, then the tables would be turned.

So you’ve found salvation on the road to Damascus,…don’t you think it’s a little late now after the mule is out of the barn?

Here’s hoping all that “crow” you’re going to have to eat , causes you to gag on the feathers!

  • writeblock

The time to deal with the GOP is now, not later. We can’t straighten out the country till we straighten out the party. Anger can achieve a lot. It’s healthy, it’s justified, it’s overdue. People like Newt and Sessions and Steele can either follow us or be swept aside. What they can’t do is continue to try to lead us.

  • writeblock

Defeating Owens is a sideshow. The real issue is defeating the moderates who have a stranglehold on the GOP. Nothing is more important. It may take several election cycles. But we can’t change the country till we change the party.

  • writeblock

So is thinking we’ve won the war when we’ve only won a skirmish. But we’ve sent a message and we’ve got a right to be satisfied that it’s gotten through–finally–at least for now. Much more important is Florida.

  • writeblock

Are not conservatives. They sound conservative on issues when they’re running for the nomination–but their records are not conservative.

  • harlan

“Why, yes Sean…I’ve always supported the conservative in this race.”

“My alleged former endorsement of Scozzafava beans is merely a figment of your imagination.”

“By the way, I’m so smart I can hardly stand myself.”

  • http://moelane.com/ Moe Lane

Your job is to now go to your local GOP organization and take it over, or (hopefully) join up with the people taking it over. That would be useful.

  • http://www.theprecinctproject.wordpress.com ColdWarrior

“blowing s**t up.” Well, I think he, and we, have helped do that on a variety of fronts. Scozzafava. Crist/Heffley. Moe is doing great work. Neil. Socrates. I could go on and on and on. The evidence is here. Achance inspires, as do you, Penguin2, and virtually everyone who posts here.

Every once in awhile I go over to view what gets posted on the libtard blogs. Gosh, what a difference. It’s all swear words and ad hominem attacks. Here, it’s intellect on display.

I just hope that each and everyone of us, if we can, can also get involved locally as a voting member of the Republican Party. Our intellect also has to “work with its hands.” In the trenches. At GOP meetings.

So I can break my broken record!

Until I get evidence of 100 per cent participation in the party ranks by Redstaters, I’ll keep up the harangue.

And adding to my little blog. Think of it. If anything ought to convince us to become precinct committeemen, it’s the fact that the “powers that be” in the Party seem to make the knowledge of how to become a precinct committeeman so hard to find. In this day and age of the internet, don’t you think, by now, the “powers that be” would have, on the GOP.com web site, step-by-step procedures for every state prominently on the web site? And an explanation of the power of the precinct committeeman? Especially now?????

Yes, you’d think that, if you believed the “powers that be” WANT new blood in the Party. Most don’t. That’s starting to change in individual counties — those counties where conservatives are in control and they want more conservatives to come into the precinct committeemen ranks.

As always, follow the money. The Republicans who are hacks for the “big money” interests don’t want the status quo upset. Those Republicans are the “Republicans In Name Only.” But we outnumber them. But our superior numbers only make a difference if we get into the voting ranks of the Party.

    Thanks again.

We conservatives can “change the party” by invading its voting ranks — its precinct committeeman ranks.

hammer the Democrats. The “Republicans” need to be reeducated. How many times have you heard someone say they were not going to vote because “there’s not a dimes worth of difference in the candidates”? Well, even if Hoffman doesn’t win in New York, the Republican gang will have learned a lesson. They had ample opportunity to get Scozzy off the ticket and did not do it. We have been right all along, no difference in the parties. When the big money gives equally to both candidates we should all get the message. They don’t care who appears to win, they already have them bought off.
Boys and Girls, it’s time for all of us to wake up and start voting the CANDIDATE, not the party. Time to go for the third party candidate, CONSERVATIVE, LIBERTARIAN, or INDEPENDENT. Then we get their attention.

How does this last-minute anybody-can-sign-up calling go? I wouldn’t put it past the same people who register Mickey Mouse and cast votes for the late John Smith to sign up and make any sort of racist or other vote-killing call to potential Hoffman supporters.

  • Libertycard

I life in Orange County, CA. The local Republican Party webpage claims we are the reddest county in the nation (I remember when Reagan won, the nation was blue – who approved the change?) and also says it is the home of “center right politics”.

Being ‘center right’ just means we permit the advancement of Liberal ideas.

Until we control parties at the local level, it ain’t going to matter who runs things at the national level.

    Cheers.

It may be fun to exercise your rhetoric, but think what residents in the NY23 district may be thinking… “outsiders are pushing to take over our representative”.
Inasmuch as DeDe and the Watertown NY paper have both endorsed the Dem, it’s clearly time to stop crowing and, if in the district, to double-down on your efforts… in a positive way.
Railing against the RNC gets no one anywhere.

  • Warrior

I was wondering though if another reason the RNC leadership keeps procedures to become precint chairmen and such guarded is to prevent squads of leftists from infiltrating and getting themselves placed in important positions clandestinely. Then, they could put in libs masquerading as conservatives like Dede….

    No, wait….

  • Warrior

about local activism as well. How do we ensure ideological loyalty at any level? Also, there’s the integrity issue. We need people who won’t sell out once they get in a position to rake in the bucks. It’s a tough criteria…

  • Streiff

Taking on the RNC gets us everywhere. That is the real fight here. If we don’t get the apparatchiks to place a premium on nominating Republicans rather than someone’s imbecile friend/relation we will be fighting this battle over and over in 2010 when it really counts.

The polls show that the Republicans in NY23 had already concluded that the nomination process had been hijacked and that is why Hoffman was leading and why whazzerface dropped out.

  • southcoast

Through political history, reformers have been a dime a dozen and soon became indistinguishable from that which they set out to reform.
This election cycle must be viewed as the start of a restoration of normalcy to American governance at all levels. A restoration of a government which operates from the confines of our Constitution. We must recognize as must as we must live within the limitations of our abilities and our means as individuals. Since our government is of the people and by the people, our government must reflect a responsible citizenry.

  • soljerblue

Steele is a disappointment, and Gingrich imploded and lost his cayones after the government shutdown effort in the 90′s blew up in his face. He talks a good fight, or did, until the Scozzafava thing blew up in his face.

What I’m wondering is how Jeff Sessions got on the conservative black list. I’ve known Jeff Sessions and covered him as a reporter since he became a US Senator from Alabama. He IS a conservative, and a damn good one even if he doesn’t sound off at the top of his voice on every issue. His voting record is conservative. Do any of you remember when he was deep-sixed for a federal judgeship 15 or so years ago by the ‘late great’ Teddy Kennedy? Dig into the specifics of that. Do any of you remember the Bush-McCain “amnesty” fight? Sessions LED that fight in the Senate, and should get a lot of the credit for getting that debacle defeated.

If you think Jeff Sessions is with the moderate Republicans, you’re wrong. Don’t let his gentlemanly demeanor confuse you.

  • Richard Mullins

2 different people. If Pete Session(TX-32) keeps this up I’ll go there to Irving or Farmer’s Branch and locate a primary challenger for him.

  • soljerblue

I dug a bit further into the briefing and discovered the previous poster meant PETE Sessions, not US Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) Sorry for the earlier posting. (wipes egg off face)

  • RedWhiteNBlue

The Republican Party has too long been listening to (and taking) the advice of liberal democrats. The GOP has become a baseless party — mush — without substance. People are leaving the GOP in search for their missing GOP. Since we’re obviously not going to become democrats, a lot — I MEAN A LOT — of Conservatives are registering a Independents. I am so weary of hearing boneheads like David Axelrod, Chris Matthews, and Joy Behar’s bunch graciously suggest to Republicans that the only way to defeat the wacky left is to abandon conservative standards.

Republicans need to return to their point of departure to pick up those party members who got off the bus.

  • JadedByPolitics

but my son is on my families behalf and my boss as of last week is looking into it as well as joing the Chamber of Commerce which he hadn’t thought of joining. It is all about participation in as many organizations as possible which lean Conservative!

I am glad that you mention it every time a diary comes up about “what can WE do” because it sets the record on EXACTLY what each of us in our own way can do. I work campaigns and DONATE alot of money around the country but I recognize how important the Committeeman project is which is why I talked my son into doing it.

  • mikek369

I could not stand the smugness of Newt Gingrich the other day when he came out an endorsed ol dede to start with….the republican party needs to be reformed, reborn if you will. My Indiana senator Dick Lugar thinks he will still be there next election but he still does have a while. We simply need to ensure that the crowds change every two years until we get them all.

Lugars crime: When gas came from $4. plus down to like $2.85, he wanted to increase the fed tax because of their losses at $2..85 per gallon…..plus, in an email to me, he saw no reason to challenge the sitting president on his appointments…like Cass Sunstein whom he supported. I said, Dick, you dick, even if that means helping Obama establish his shadow government and put us on the path to socialism! I did not expect a response to that.

We will wean them as their time is up. The national republican party is offically null and void and every republican will have an independent running against him or her until their allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, one nation under God…and all that entails, can be established. I am pretty sure my fellow democrats agree that socialistic candidates are not the answer to our issues.

  • martyinaz

If we are going to stop Obama before he turns the nation into Marxist socialists/communists, we need to have more people with an (R) behind their name than those with a (D) in Congress. We need to get Ms Pelosi off the podium and back in her seat on the left side of the aisle. This country has never elected a more dangerous man as president.. His agenda is Marxist all the way, and he must be stopped before it’s too late. The clock is ticking and we are standing around wringing our hands. Do like me, join in at the local level and seriously work towards getting the strongest candidates nominated. We can do this if we keep our eyes on the prize. For now, NOTHING is more important than 2010.
