On New Jersey Exiting Polling

From a pollster friend:

I’m sensing the NJ exits maybe skewed to Dems…they had Health care at 18%, most important issue. Economy was #1 at 31% and property taxes 2 at 25%. Corruption was at 20%. Property taxes was always the #1 issue in everyone’s statewide.

UPDATE: North New Jersey Democrats are beginning to fret that Corzine did not pick up enough support in the area to over come exit pollings that, even skewed to the Democrats, show Christie picking up +50% of independents and Corzine less than 40%.

…has blown it open on Intrade in the last couple of hours?

Everthing in New Jersey is always on the level. Always.

what do you mean…skewed to the Dems?

    That Corzine is winning?

Can’t believe that Fox News says it’s too close to call VA.

  • regent2009

I thought that they were saying its too early to call, which means that there is just isn’t enough raw vote, not that it is necessarily close.

ppppolls Exit shows Christie up 25 with independents, we had him up 23

If you go back and look at Election Night coverage from 2000 and ’04, VA was never called right away or W–yet he won the state twice by double-digits.
Most networks are loathe to make quick calls since Florida ’00–and rightly so.

that was kind of meant as a joke, knowing that the polls closed only 23 minutes ago, I am looking at the numbers now and every county that I expected to go Deeds is going Deeds and vice versa. I will make a prediction and the percentages will look like Bush to Kerry 2004 ratio, which of course is not a great breakthrough as we would hope. Of course, the VA delegate breakdown is also important to us in VA, an all R Richmond means good things.

In the PPP poll giving Christie a six point lead, he only had a 52 percent share of the independent vote. I can see why Democrats are upset with his projected 58% share.

that the VA trifecta is currently getting 60 something % of the vote, as reported by FOX. Go somewhere else to look for your losers, it ain’t the Republicans in VA. Like all Liberals, they just can’t get their heads wrapted around the truth.

To falsley say that FOX is calling VA to close to call is a troller. You really need to go, big time. On Redstate no one reports false information, NO ONE.

  • lurker9876

I want the VA trifecta to win and it looks like it is going to be a trifecta.

    Yahoo!

Let’s make sure that this IS a referendum.

  • nycenterright

If corzine wins all dems and Christie wins all reps, Corzine needs 40% of turnout to be dems. It was 44% in 2008, so I doubt he’ll get there.

  • wolfgang

…Christie polling 68 per cent of the white male voters, less of the white female vote. That still leaves the Democrats needing a lot of votes from the other ethnic groups. They may be more votes shy than they will be able to muster from the cemetary’s voters

Way early, and I DON’T know what’s in.

    Christie – 16191 – 51%
    Corzine – 12720 – 40%
    Daggett – 8%

  • sharonmcp

FOX is reporting Christie at 50%, Corzine 41%.
