Charlie Crist Is Scared and Lying

Charlie Crist welcomed Barack Obama to Florida last February, hugged him, grinned when Obama called Crist “his favorite Republican,” and then explained why the Democrats’ stimulus was a good thing.

That was February.

Yesterday, Charlie Crist denied it ever happened. Despite the videotaped evidence, Charlie Crist says he never once supported the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the formal name of the stimulus.

This all comes as news to the President, who hugged Crist, and who got this letter from Crist back on February 3, 2009. In the letter, signed by Crist, as well as Governors Patterson, Patrick, Corzine, and several others, Crist and the other Democrat Governors wrote “to express [their] support for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), which passed last week in the House and is under consideration currently in the Senate.” Crist even took claim to being “steward[] of the econom[y] of [his] respective state[] and region[].”

So either Crist was lying when he sent the letter and stood on stage to embrace Obama and bask in Obama’s glory, or he is lying now when he says he never supported it.

Either way, he is lying.

because he would have us NOT believe our own eyes! This type of LIE is so absolutely pathetic….I expect politicians to lie but I expect them to lie about things WE CANNOT PROVE!!

The idiot could have just said I was WRONG and I apologize and I should have done what other Republican Governors did and just said NO and I have learned my lesson! what a waste of space.

He has been running lying radio ads in SWFL saying he cut the budget, when it fact it is Constitutionally required that the budget be brought into balance with the receipts.

It’s not working. He is hiding from some of the local conservative radio hosts, while running the lying radio ads on their station.

Rubio is the real deal, former speaker of the Florida House, term limited out, and a Cuban immigrant to boot. Great solid Conservative, I met him a few weeks back. Very smart quick and articulate person. Excellent Republican material.

My favorite is of “Beltway Bob” throwing Crist under the bus. It shows that the Whitehouse wants Marco Rubio to go head-to-head with Meek in the Florida Senate race and that Charlie got what he deserved. Of course the Whitehouse is clueless about the momentum that Rubio has and the fact that his numbers are 3 points higher than Crist’s in a head-to-head against Meek.

    There are 3 short videios:

Crist at the Obama Rally supporting the Bill
Marco Rubio’s Great response and finally Robert Gibbs.
    Whitehouse response to Charlies lie

I did not include the new video just released by Club for Growth that trashes Crist but here it is in case you are interested:

Crist has already lost and doesn’t even know it. He doesn’t know a lie from the truth – or maybe he does, his poll numbers are dropping and there is nothing he cab do to stop them. Rubio, on the other hand, is direct but respectful, honest and unafraid – that is confident leadership.

Nothing is better than having your opponent cast your campaign commercials for you.

Just make a montage: Crist then, Crist now….

“PAY NO ATTENTION TO THAT MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN!”

How could anyone be so stupid as to say they didn’t do something while the tape of them doing it practically blaring on a jumbo screen behind him?

I think this is the final thread that will unravel Windsock Charlie!

    This is positively buffoonish!

Look how THAT bit of brilliance turned out for them!

He’s like Lindsey Graham. Graham was quoted as saying that conservatism is a asset. An asset? A skill set? A tool to be used like being able to talk out of both sides of your mouth? It was a revealing moment and one I commented on at my website.

I must not have been the only Texan to email John Cornyn to let him know how disappointed we were to hear he might be endorsing Crist. Cornyn has come out and said something wierd about Crist requesting GOP endorsement, but they are not going to endorse Crist or Rubio? I have a comment “What??” I will be in Abilene to meet the Tea Party Express this morning, and I have printed out information from Rubio’s website to hand out and encourage others to get involved NOW to support him. Am I the only one who sees Marco Rubio as a very Presidential kind of guy?? What an impressive young man!

can you imagine both Jindal and Rubio on the same ticket? The libs head would explode trying to use the old racist slur against republicans.

  • dudette

I have sent modest donations to Rubio for a long time. I have thought him a natural for FLA and I epect him to win big in FLA. Jindal is also the man. What a great executive ability he has and hope he has a place on the national stage. We are very lucky to have such bright young conservatives–Bachmann is a treasure too, Sarah of course,…it seems we have the ideas and the talent on our side. The left has the underhanded tricks and tired old tyranny on theirs.

  • http://random-jumbled-thoughts.blogspot.com tenebrous

Crist is running ads touting praise given to him by the CATO institute, but erroneously labels it as a “conservative think tank” (instead of a libertarian one). Rubio hasn’t run ads yet, but Charlie is spending money far in advance; I agree that he must be quaking in his shoes.

  • AceInTX

so they thought they’d have an easy time scaremongering the American Public away from voting for him…

The good news was…he was running against Jimmy Carter who the soviets had spent 4 years slapping around like a tail dragging puppy, a couple nearly a year of Iran thumbing their noses at us, and a couple weeks after the failed hostage rescue attempt where we left American aircraft and bodies scattered across the Iranian desert

  • AceInTX

I’ve always thought Carter wasn’t tougher on Iran because of the Soviets. I’ve always believed they were threatening us behind the scenes because they didn’t want us having hegemony over the entire Persian Gulf.

I’ll believe to my dying day someone with authority in the Reagan administration sent a not so veiled threat/promise that either they turn our people lose or we were going to unleash hell on Iran no matter what the world or the Soviet Union said or did.

  • granitegriz

They think that most Americans are dummeer than a brick and most of the time they are right when it comes to running elections. It won’t matter who gets nominated for they wouldn’t be there without the express approval of the “Insiders”. I suspect Rubio too will vote with the Libs when he is told to. Like Martinez did.

  • bigarch

Rubio can be a senator but we don’t need to try to get another foreigner into the whitehouse. The commicRATs had beat us to that one.
    Remember Rubio was a Cuban.

  • bigarch

nunleigh,,,,You must remember that Mr Rubio is not a native borrn citizen and does not qualify to be POTUSA even tho the commicRATs can get away with that we would prefer to follow the constitution.

  • http://www.voterubio2010.com nelsa

The best thing about these events is that Crist has to spend money to try and prove that he is something that we all know he isn’t.

When you lie you have to pay to try and turn that lie in to something else.

Marco Rubio does not lie and therefore he can save his money and promote his values and prinicples and deliver his message to conservative Florida voters.

It’s a positive net gain for Rubio as Crist tries to redefine himself. Crist has one big problem or maybe two. His record and Youtube.

If you thought the last quarter was good for Rubio, just wait for this quarter of fundraising when he gets the support of Club for Growth.

and boy, it’s getting crowded under there.

A new article at Politico today.

Hmmm, what do you think their strategy is? Perhaps they’re hoping Rubio can’t win against the Dem?

Fire Christ! , as for, soon to be, Senator Rubio, he will have to provide Real proof of birth, as a U.S. citizen, to validate, at least one of the requirements to be Senator, as a matter of record, Unlike some other Politician. who gets a pass. Ah! but then I’m just another paranoid old man. one of Harry Reid’s smelly tourists. an astroturfer, etc. Who has served my country and wish all the nonservers, would love our flag and country and its heritage, unlike any other in history. all made possible by those who gave , and give everything to keep it strong. no half heartedness. God, family and country first, is what keeps us strong, not whining takers, fakers, slackers and non-backers. Americans though history have been the most generous in the world. We don’t need big government taking our money, to reward big business’s backing politicos. I, for one am tired of being played, election after election by both sides, by liars who rob us, then tell us they are voting their conscience… First you have to have a conscience . Our children’s future is hanging by a thin thread unless we all stand for, We the people. But then I digress, Thank you all, is what I wanted to say.

    One Old Dog.

Greer is as useless as…well, you probably have your own metaphor to slide in there. For too long, now, the RPOF has been trying to be Democrat lite. We need to promote some real Conservative leadership from within our party. We cannot win when we look like a milder version of the Democrats. We always win when we soundly show the stron differences in our philosophy. Ronald Reagan proved that in 1984 when he won 49 out of 50 states. He even made Minnesota close agains Mondale! It is time for Republicans to act more like Reagan and John Wayne, Charlton Heston than John McCain!

  • edniceville

    a few minutes ago…

Crist Has ‘Extremely High’ Confidence In Greer

Gov. Charlie Crist says he stands by Republican Party Chairman Jim Greer?

“Extremely high” is how Crist described his level of confidence in Greer. “There’s always a tendency to have different factions in society,” Crist said Friday, “and so some people are going to be happy and some people are going to be disappointed. I think that’s the natural flow of things, really.”

“I know he is a tireless worker,” Crist said of Greer, his hand-picked choice for party boss who was first elected by a margin of a dozen votes. “He’s dedicated to trying to help the party do better and broaden the appeal to minorities. I just think he’s done a great job.”

Just another reason why we need changes in our state party leadership!

  • pirate55

It is time we tell the RPOF to get on the conservative train or take the Stimulus Package Clunker to the nearest Florida Unemployment Office. How’s that “Hope and Change” working for you Mr. Crist and Mr. Greer?
