Today Americans March on Washington

Last Thursday, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-MN) urged Americans to go to Washington today and protest Obamacare. Well, Mark Levin picked up the charge and others joined her.

Today, thousands will pour into Washington to tell Nancy Pelosi and the Congress to send Obamacare to a death panel (that’s section 1233 of the original legislation). If you need details on where to go in D.C. or if you can’t go, but want to show up at your Congresscritter’s local office, go here.

And Americans owe a huge thank you to Michele Bachmann for sounding the call to action.

We’re at a rest area on I-95 right now, waiting on two bus loads to join us.

I wonder what the dogs are thinkin’ now?

    “…send Obama to a death panel…”

I arrived in DC last evening. Last official count from Ohio Liberty Council was 9 buses arriving late last night. I’ve heard there are as many as 15 buses from Ohio alone. That doesn’t count those of us who drove or flew separately. Also, the Mommy Patriots from AsAMom.org will be well represented. Over 300 RSVPs from all around the country. I’m cautiously optimistic that we will have a good turnout today. Now pray that Pelosi doesn’t try to bar us access to the Capitol. If the crowd is as big as I hope, it could get ugly fast.

… To gather before meeting at noon on the West steps

in about an hour to catch our bus to DC. We hope there are thousands there today. 9-12 was unbelievable. God Bless Congresswoman Bachmann! We thank you so very much!

Oh my, just saw him interviewed on Morning Joe. He is a D who won in a typically R district in 2008. Said he is moving towards a YES vote on HC Reform. He is interpreting the rout in VA to mean that his voters didn’t show-up because HC hasn’t been passed yet. I guess the swing in Independents from D to R hasn’t been properly explained to him. Those of you walking the halls of Congress today may need to explain to him what is going to happen to him in 2010 if he votes Yes on HC.

Thanks to those of you who are going to DC today. You are representing many of us who wish we could be with you. I have three little children and I just couldn’t work it out. But, my 70 year old aunt called me at 6:00 p.m. last night and said she was getting on a bus at the Atlanta Capitol at 8:00 p.m. last night to go to DC. She is going by herself and doesn’t know a single soul who is riding the bus with her.

We’d love to be there, but since we can’t, we are praying that your presence and voices will be powerful to speak against the the unaffordable, unsustainable and destructive policies of this Obamanation Abomination. Bless you all, and thanks for standing in our stead today!

  • marshmom

Unfortunately, I can’t be there, but I will be praying and I’m hoping that there is an unbelievable turnout. I will be watching and listening. Our hearts are with you all!

  • partyof1

    yet?

  • partyof1

send Obamacare to a death panel maybe. I don’t mean for my first post to be a critcism but the left will jump on things like that and the real issue will be lost.

Thanks for the work you and other contributors do on RS. I wish I could be DC right now.

I?m a little far away in Per?, so I can?t make it to Washington, but bring lots of red paint to splatter over the Blue Dogs to knock some sense into them.
Pelosi?s HEALTH SNARE must not pass!
You are all in my prayers beginning with Michhele Bachmann.
I?m proud to have contributed to her house campaign.

taking a little artistic license… How deliciously ironic.

  • sharonmcp

Thank you, it is folks like you that make me EXTRA proud to be an American.

  • vamoose

I am from the mainstream media. I am covering a big and important story on, uh … something else, and can’t make it. /sarc

    Don’t let them ignore us.

  • southcoast

I wish I could be there. I am heartened though good Americans make the time to remind these elected officials who they work for.

  • boomerdad

I can’t be there, but am praying and watching for you all on TV. People, please be on the lookout and stop signs like this! A sign like that will be front and center in an mainstream media coverage. Be Smart!

  • boomerdad

I was referring to the send Obama to a death panel post.

  • momma2four

EagleWatcher’s post was referring to rewording the original wording “send Obama to a death panel” in the post….which has now been changed to say “send Obamacare to a death panel”….which is probably what Erick originally meant to type :-) Just sayin’….

  • hannahcb

And everyone who is behind her on this. I also won’t be able to attend today, but my prayers and support are with everyone. I’ll be watching and cheering you on at noon!

  • eburkedisciple

Y’all go and know there are millions of us behind you. We will not let the “progressives” take 200 years of our country’s development and sacrifice it to untested change that disrespects the hard work of generations to build a civil society that is among the greatest in the world.

  • redneck_hippie

    “Legislative malpractice.”

    Call.

It’s a multi-front war we’re in. Attack from all sides.

  • notthenews

of pressure we MUST keep on to kill this socialistic Obamacare bill, the Obama Tax and trade bill, and ANY upcoming “EDUCATION REFORM” bill they come up with to attack our children with. We must make it clear that government obstruction in all these areas will not be condoned or allowed. To all those going to and in DC, GO GET EM, I wish I could be there but it’s just impossible at this time.

  • dclamage

I heard on Quinn & Rose that some Liberal commentator smirkily questioned which rich fat cat or corporation was paying to bus so many angry Conservatives into DC. Her assumption being basded on a) that’s something the Left does all the time and b) surely this must be Astroturf?

it never occurred to her that these people are all acting independently, but with the same single-minded purpose; to let Congress know THEY ARE ON THE WRONG TRACK!!!

  • ohmom23

Wonderful experience, but a bit different than 9/12. The crowd was much smaller, of course, on such short notice (I’d guess around a 1/4 of the size of the 9/12 march) but very, very animated. Chants of “Nancy, Nancy” daring her to come down and face us, “Kill the Bill” and “You work for us” swept through the crowd, mostly before the speeches started. Price, Bachmann, Levin and John Voight were great, then the hangers-on began their speeches which seemed to drag on forever. We left after about an hour and a half.

Before assembling at the foot of the Capitol, I attended an informal meet and greet over coffee with Sen. Sherrod Brown. I did speak to him briefly, but spent over 1.5 hours grilling 2 members of his staff on education and healthcare issues/legislation. The two ladies I spoke with were visibly surprised that an average person was so well versed on these topics, and one of them became very uncomfortable when she realized how much we knew about the extent of the feds reach into our “local” schools. Now that I have names and contact numbers, I’ll be able to go directly to correct staffer when I have something to say.

Michele Bachmann, thank you for inviting me to your “HouseCall” today.
