I think my oldest daughter has it now. Things got “mislaid” during the divorce.

I also remember the little East German cars rambling through West Germany and the influx of suddenly free citizens (well, as free as West Germany is anyway). Even when they knew they’d be sleeping in their tiny little cars for lack of a roof over their heads, they smiled.

It was an awesome time to be in Germany, not only from the historical view but the personal experiences as well.

Brit Hume…..bothered me more then a little that he gave some cover to Nobama for NOT going to Berlin for the ceremonies, because it would have been hard to get back to Fort Hood for the Memorial to the murdered troops last week.
That would be true ONLY if the Pretender in Chief hadn’t already made clear he wasn’t going to Berlin for the 20 year Anniversary, long BEFORE the Fort Hood murders!
Sad indeed to see someone on FOX make excuses for Nobama.

that was East Berlin after passing through Checkpoint Charlie in ‘83. The fear was palpable. If I remember correctly, soldiers with guns walked the top of the Brandenburg gate. There were few people walking around and there were still bullet holes in the buildings from WWII. Everything was gray. It was a stark contrast to West Berlin, just as the pictures show. We went to the Pergamom Museum and saw amazing artifacts, then ate at a little diner, but knew the people were being watched and could not talk to us. I wonder why they let people through for a few hours. Did they think we would be impressed? On the western side of Checkpoint Charlie I remember walking through a little building and the walls were lined with pictures of people trying to escape, some being gunned down, some making it. It was a relief to be back in West Berlin. So strange, to be in a little free island in the middle of East Germany.

We had driven in, which was scary enough with the guard towers at regular intervals. At one point on the way out we were stopped by the police, for some reason. My friend was riding in the back and I was in the front seat with her mom. She turned to me frazzled and talking very fast in German. She had forgotten that I didn’t speak German and was asking for me to get a certain amount of money out of her purse. We paid him and he went away. We drove the rest of the way with our eyes on the rear view mirror and were very relieved when we crossed the border. It was so strange being watched all the way in and all the way out with only a few places to stop and get gas. Just farmland, towers, and a long highway.

The fall of the Iron Curtain is a very important thing for all freedom loving people to celebrate, and the wall is the central symbol. Obama should have gone. I’m not surprised that he didn’t.

Has anyone even (really) looked at the Logo?!?! The “2009″ simple logo says a bunch. Either it is overt or folks are so far gone Indoctrinated to Pro-RED/Socialist it comes out subconsciously/automatically.

Examine: Why no RED, WHITE, AND BLUE, for America’s strength and leadership that brought all this about!?!?! —- The logo is RED and Black — Why no Blue? RED is associated with SOCIALISM while in the past the BLUE forces (Allies) are the symbol/color of Freedom (Internationally, of course - in the U.S. Red = RedState, but whole other thought). The RED “20″ should have been Blue (or, at least, 20 Blue 09 Red, to symbolize both sides, but nope - no Blue).

Other than that, the simplicity of “20″ being both the 20 year mark and just the beginning of the current year is wonderful. It’s beauty is tainted by those of us with the Brain power to see how they either didn’t think it through, or purposefully (or unconsciously) salute the REDS with the logo!!!

For those who don’t know what “logo” I speak of…. Go to Reuters (Photo Slide-show, link above) and view the Slide-show of Photos: Best views are in slides #2, 10, 13, 23 (on umbrellas), 25 (on podium, but not in color), 26 (another banner), etc… It adorns just about everything in the visual coverage I’ve been monitoring on the airwaves. It is only in the loosest sense of the term a “logo” but it, as I previously said, adorns everything as the representation (logo) of/for the events!

Maybe it is all a too anal analysis (pun intended lol) and overreaching/overreacting look (my suspicious eyes to look for these things) into it but take at look at that again and let me know if I’m just being “silly” or again if it is just an indication of the Indoctrination of everyone to lean Pro-Socialist, Pro-Soviet, Pro-RED, that it is either their subconsciously/accidentally or if it is OVERT!!! in order to subliminally continue the line of PRO GORBACHEV praise-fest and lack to promote the WEST (Blue forces) that actually brought on the Freedoms and the Wall fall!?!?!
