CT Gov Poll: Rell Leaves Race In The Lead

Gov. Rell of Connecticut is not going to seek re-election. Can't say I blame her. She really fell into the job in a trial by fire way. She's got a family that is growing up too.

Very good piece about the elections in New York City. But it reflects the nation as a whole. The Democrats are increasingly becoming the party of the very rich and very poor. The GOP can fill the void with the middle class, but needs to really be about economic opportunity and freedom, not more handouts.

Account still active. Can an admin close it?

I’ve send a fair number of e-mails and made several posts about getting my redstate account closed. Can a site admin please close/deactivate the account? Please use whatever method works best for you. I just want the account closed.

As I’ve posted before the account would be still active. I’d rather the account be closed. I’ve learned that it’s better to close unneeded accounts.

Again as I’ve posted before I’m fine with the comments remaining. That’s of no concern.

I’d really not have to post in the forum to get the account but I’ve e-mailed the contact address eight times about it and never received a reply.

I am a site administrator. Emailing the contact form isn’t going to get you access to people who have more technical power over this site than I do.

In fact any moderation matters that come to the contact form are just passed along to people such as Moe and me.

You made a request. Your request was denied. End of story.

So the site admin’s can’t close an account? Wow. I find that amazing. I would think you’d want the ability to close accounts for all sorts of reasons (lost passwords, closed e-mail accounts etc)

I’ve assumed that accounts could be closed. I believe you mentioned banning the other evening. That’s fine if that’s what it takes to close the account.

This is not an effort to remove posts. I could care less about old posts on this or any other site. Google my nick, I’ve got posts on multiple boards going back years.

Again I have no concern about old posts and am perfectly happy to have them remain on your site.

I simply would like to have the account closed.

I learned long ago to close up accounts I didn’t need. I joined a forum that was either hacked into or sold off years after I was active. As a result I got tons of spam back in the days before filters (I’ve been online since ‘94). I had no idea what my log-in or password was so I had no way of getting out. Luckily the forum just died eventually.

So I close accounts when I don’t wish to post any longer.

Believe me I’ve tried e-mailing to get it closed but get no response.

For some reason some think it’s an effort to remove old posts. Again I don’t care about my old posts. I’ve not posted anything here I couldn’t tell my kids in church on Sunday. That’s not an issue.

Again I’m not asking for any comments to be deleted. I’m not asking for a wipe of records. I asking for the account to be closed going forward. It’s not an account I wish to keep. Honestly I’ve never run into this issue before. It’s always been a case of clicking a couple times and the account is closed.

As I posted earlier, I’ve e-mailed numerous times and never received a response. Not even an automated reply indicating any of the e-mail had actually been received. I would have much rather been able to handle this via e-mail.
