Democrats Trying to Orchestrate Bi-Partisan Gas Tax Increase

Got this from a high level source:

I just came from dinner and recognized the voices beside me. It was Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) and three other Democrats. I knew the other faces but names escape me.

They were strategizing on how to raise the gas tax. Congressman Blumenauer said he knew a way to get at least 20 Republicans on board a gas tax increase. The place was loud and that’s about all I could make out. They talked about other times when they manages to split us. It was not fun nor easy to hold back.

a progressive think tank (sorry, can’t recall name of it) is secretly exploring options to institute a VAT at the behest of the Obama administration. This seems highly likely to me, especially since Crap and Tax doesn’t look probable.

So many taxes, so little time…

It’s the only way to make people want his idea of cars. Boxy death traps. If they can raise the gas prices his green energy lies instantly become vastly more popular. Idiots all over the nation will be screaming and begging for the gubmint to save them. They just fail to realize it has to save them from itself.

The solution to every problem, real or imaginary, is to raise taxes or impose fees.

I would like to see a politician try to solve a problem by cutting taxes, repealing a law, or firing a few bureaucrats. Such a person doesn’t seem to exist.
