Obama’s Achilles Heel

A friend of mine told me about a meeting he had with Goldman Sachs’ CEO in Atlanta at the beginning of the year. Someone asked the CEO what he thought of the new Obama administration. The CEO admitted he voted for Obama, but then said how stunned he was at lack of advisors surrounding Obama who had come from the private sector.

In fact, a new study shows Obama has fewer advisors who’ve made a living in the private sector than any other American President in the last 108 years — since the turn of the 20th century when the business of America became business.

This is not to say that the Chief Executive should have private sector experience. And this is not to say that the Chief Executive should employ only people from the private sector. But it is to say that we should not trust a Chief Executive to know how to fix the private sector or “create competition” in health care when there is hardly a person near him who knows anything about job creation.

That is the key. More Americans than every before are on government handouts and the Democrats intend to take over 1/6th of the American economy — health care. This is an administration that has no understanding of and no commitment to the free market and the private sector, both of which are, at best, academic studies to ninety percent of Obama’s top advisors.

The Republican Party should be able to exploit this issue. The American people, at the end of the day, believe in, work in, and want to support the private sector. Contrary to the Obama and New York Times spin that there is no stigma attached to food stamps, the American people do not want to be dependent on the government for their food, health care, or income.

But that is Obama’s solution. To every problem, Obama offers government. He can offer no other because he has surrounded himself with no job creators, no producers, no captains of industry, and no free market champions. That’s not the change the American people were hoping for.

Isn’t that what it seems like sometimes?

Obama gets all these people whose backgrounds are some combination of “community organizing” (which at their level has nothing to do with helping people and everything to do with getting their hands on other people’s money) and “academic intelligentsia” (which means as Ivy Leaguers they think they know better how to do things than people who have well, you know, actually done them in the real world).

We gave this bunch of liberal dreamers/idiots the power to use us a class experiment for four years.

This “health care” bill is an ill-disguised power grab to take over one-sixth of the American economy. It is outrageous that the Communist Nancy Pelosi allowed for a FIVE YEAR prison sentence for not having health insurance! This allows the Obamunists to grab a huge amount of power and money to keep interfering in the lives of Americans in ways that are unconstitutional–and make us pay thousands of dollars in taxes and fees for it! The Senate bill allows for ONE HUNDRED ELEVEN new government bureaucracies and greatly expands the powers of Kathleen Sebelius or whomever is the HHS secretary when this insanity takes effect. My very first action when I am elected to Congress will be to drop a bill into the hopper to repeal Pelosi-Obamacare.
I need your support for my campaign! I am the Republican candidate for US Congress in the 12 Congressional District of Illinois. Please visit my website and find out about me and if you can, please contribute to my campaign. Every dollar helps–Obama raised 900 million 5 dollars at a time! www.voteforteri2010.com

    is really showing….

He and all of the people he surrounds himself with think it is 1969 – not 2009….

They REALLY do believe that socialism & government is THE way.
Even when they fail – they will still BELIEVE they were right. No different than the CLIMATEGATE scientists. The ONLY solution is to ban them to the hinterlands and take away their money.

Remember politics is a game of chess and no move is static.

Obama will make moves before the next election cycle intended to give the public an impression he has learned from his “mistakes” (read deliberate, ideological, table setting).

The agent of “change” will try to use his persuasive powers, economic data and “people props” to fool the American people again.

Sit back and watch, but don’t believe it.

curb. Terii you go young woman, you sound like the kind of person that can do it right. I think that we all should get behind you and push the same way we have done in other elections this year.

My only concern is the Net Netrality issue. I do not belive that the goverment should not be involved at all. It is almost like the new and improved version of the Fairness Doctrine. It will only serve to destroy the little guy providing services to smaller communities.

Although it sounds good on the surface you really need to think beyond the immedate surface fix.

Good luck in your campaine. I for one will be donating to it even though I live in the great socialist state of Washington.

…just played ball with The One in order to get along. He observed the bullying of Ken Lewis and didn’t want any part of that. Dimon has a solid business reputation – let’s hope he doesn’t soil himself by joining the Administration. The stench may never go away.

We all get riled up about the things that we can see. Heck, there is a lot to be upset about. I’m pretty riled up myself. The thing is, I can’t help but sense that there is a larger force at work here. The events that have transpired in the last 20 years since Reagan left office have an eerie “Atlas Shrugged” feel to them. I think that there is a group of committed politicians and other powerful men with lots of disposable income. They are intentionally forcing our free market system to its knees and they intend on breaking it altogether They are betting every thing that they have in the hopes that when our economy crumbles they can swoop in and build it back up the way that they want to. Scary.

by the liberals. Have you heard anything from the Fabian Socialists doing the evening news? Not a peep. B4 you know it the “scientists” will catch the hacker, prosecute him, and supress the evidence.
Then Obama will go to the conference in Copenhegan and sign America into One World Government oppression. We all know he is a Marxist Socialist/Communist so his name on the dotted line will finish us off. Get ready for the three percent reparations to every other country on the planet..Get ready for the EPA to tell you they don’t have to deal in “facts” they deal in “findings” and they will “find” what they darn well please. In the military we had an acronym BOHICA which means,Bend Over, Here It Comes Again. So be ready for the EPA to tell you that your qne year old car doesn’t meet the performance standards recently applied, so pay the new tax and pay the fine. BOHICA folks, BOHICA.

When we are able to sit back and evaluate the nation’s problems, most Americans understand that government cannot solve everything. However, during the election season Republicans are almost as guilty as Democrats when it comes to promising miracles from the Government Fairy. The GOP has to develop a narrative that puts a positive spin on the notion of government’s limits in order to sway the moderate/independent voter.
